  • Picked up a few bargains in sainsburys today

£11 for a dinner set (4 bowls, side plates & plates :T) needed some new ones as we don't have enough plates when everyone is home (thanks to me being clumsy and breaking them lol)

£1 for winnie the pooh disney rucksacks, I picked up 4 to put in my gift box for little ones birthdays/christmas pressies

Also got a few other little bargains just to chuck into the pressie box, all under £1 so good day for bargain hunting lol

  • Have been so busy here with DS1 off school & hubby home, and I am officially writing off April as a massive FAIL! We're having another busy day tomorrow & then away for a little break for a few days so won't be back until May now! And no doubt with promises to myself to stick to budget for May! Have a great easter all xx

Hey DFW! Long time no read :)

You've been up to all sort and I can't believe your coming up to Tamworth... thats just down the road from me :) Hope your having an ace Easter and having fun looking at holidays. Have you decided where abouts your going yet? I haven't dared book a holiday abroad with my little girl... I just dread to think what the plane journey would be like lol... not that I care if she screams from 2 hours (I'm used to it) but I'm not sure everyone else will feel the same hehehe.

  • Evening all, thought I best come on and update, and also keep up with this because it helps to keep me on track! As I think I said before, April was a complete write off in regards to the budget! We've spent all the money DH was paid (well I say 'spent' money has been put into seperate savings for things it's allocated to, so we're not that bad lol) But we went over on food, clothes, petrol (thanks to trip away) & eating out etc....but I had a fab time up in Tamworth it reminded me why i'd love to move back to the country (I grew up around Lincolnshire) and the weather was fab first day, not so good the second but we still had a great break and wsa pretty MSE about it....hotel was £124 which was a little above the cheapest but it was closer to Tamworth and all the amenities we were going to be using :)

SO it's payday today and we are on budget again (I hope) DS1 has gone back to school, and DH is off until 27th or thereabouts. So i am going to have to factor that into the grocery budget etc.

I have made a vow to myself also, to be thin by summer!!! I am sick to death of my mummy tummy! SO this evening was my first step....40 mins on my zumba wii game :D i nearly killed myself doing it and it was beginner level so have no idea how people go to classes for an hour....!!!!!!

ANYWAYS i'll beback tomorrow with renewed determination to stick to budget, save & lose inches!! :) :rotfl:

P.S DB i didn't realise you were west mids....I could have waved as I drove past yours lol...it's lovely up there just a shame the weather didn't stay that way! We have family in burton on trent (think thats right name!) so will def be going again :D

  • Ok well today was a LSD we spent £1.60 on 2 ice lollies lol, we spent most of the day indoors watching the wedding....and WOW what a dress, kate looked stunning! They both looked so happy & i wish them all the happiness in the world! So didn't do very much after that, i've withdrawn £500 from Dh wages, he was paid 1300 this month so back to normal (booooo) so back on strict budget. I'm going to divvy the money up tomorrow and see how DH goes with £40 spending money for the month (i'm thinking fail...he has already planned at least one night out...)

On the fitness front I have done 20 minutes of Zumba today, and could not keep up. My calf muscles were aching 2 mins into it (soooooooo unfit) I am determined to fit into a bikini (or at least a tankini because of stretch marks) by our summer hols....so I have all the incentive I need :) just need a few shoves in the right direction when I'm flagging please lol

Off to watch t.v now and die quietly from my 20 mins exercise lol

    The wedding was fab!

Haha, your husband may take some time to get used to this MSE thing! I'm sure he will get better as time goes on though.

20 mins is not bad if your not used to doing any exercise. If you keep doing it you will get better and better so don't feel bad it - hey, its 20 mins more than you used to do!

  • OK well I did one thing on my list, I got DS1 some new trainers for school, still couting today as a NSD as I used the money I had saved in my PP to pay for them, got him a pair from Ebay and got them sent straight to school so I saved some p&p (which was free).

We usually go to a boot fair on a Sunday as I love havign a walk around but i'm debating whether to limit myself to once a month now as otherwise I waste money on silly things. I have £40 in my purse and it needs to last until 31st May (loooooooong month this one!)

I'm also debating what to do already in Half term as it's only 4 weeks away. My dad has offered to let us stay in a lodge on his fishery in Wales for a few days/week as long as we like. So may take him up on that, thing is we need to buy food and stuff so may work out expensive :undecided but at the same time I suppose I would be spending here on food/entertainment etc, and there is no charge for the lodge. Oh and of course petrol costs....hmmm may have to work out the spreadsheets again! DH is also bk to work on 27th so he will only be available to come at the weekend....oh decisions, decisions!

Had a nice long walk this evening with kids & dh (maybe 3 miles) so giving the zumba a miss tonight :)
