  • :D Hubby is back after 6 and a half months out in Afghan later on today :) !!!

Need to keep the kids amused now until 4ish....and myself lol. I hate waiting around am so impatient!!!

And on the wages front spoke to welfare today who informed me that payroll have put in to get the money bk from santander so have to wait to see what happens. The cheque that is coming to us is nowhere to be seen (fantastic-not) but have decided i'm not going to stress anymore, it's all i seem to do, no wonder i ended up with vertigo lol. Anyway DH is in work tomorrow so he can sort it out i've decided. And i have the food shop in for the week and also have enough money for a take out later. My tax credits get paid in for the week tomorrow so that's around £80 so we will be ok (sorry have to keep reminding myself)

Anyway back to getting excited :D:j:T:j:D:T:D:D

  • Well DH has been in and out of work all day sorting out paperwork etc, he's gone bk in now so thought i'd update...

We have received a cheque for £4,000 for DH wages and part bonus. I'm going to wait until it clears and then take it all out minus 1,600 which is what i use for the monthly budget. The DD's that bounced were CCCS & My mortgage so around £550. I have called both up and one has taken a debit card payment so sorted, the other is putting bk in for DD for next week. So both will be paid, neither are charging me for the DD bouncing so I called the bank and instead they are charging me!!! Even though i paid in the money to cover them on the same day that i went overdrawn. Apparently the money needs to be in there for DD's at 3pm the day before  how the hell was i supposed to know that! One thing after the other here atm....!

Anyway, DH is opening a bank account (basic) for himself so i expect he will want to transfer the wages into that one. Which i'm not so sure about. I'd rather them be paid into my bank account (which they still haven't got right anyway, so who's to say they will get another change in the system straight away) so i can then divide money into savings, debt, and budget etc and trasfer money across to DH bank which he can then spend....but i feel bad suggesting this considering it is his wages and i guess he can do what he like with them. It's just that with his track record for never knowing where money goes i'd rather keep a tight ship right now. What do you think??

Spends yesterday were a take away £16.50 for all 5 of us, and sweets/cakes for DH return from c*-*p £4.

Spends today- NONE wohoo...1st NSD of the month! And cheque is in the bank and should be cashed and ready to withdraw by friday.

I also got an order through from dunelm and the bedspread i ordered is too small, so will return that tomorrow for a refund for £24.99.

I have a poorly little boy on my hands at the moment he kept me awake all night, has temperature, generally just moaning and clingy and runny nose poor little thing. Hoping it all goes by next week though so we can enjoy easter hols properly before DS1 goes bk to school and DH goes off on his course in May!

    Hi DFW,

Glad to hear your hubby is back but what a pain in the bum with the bank/wages/bonus situation. Hope it all gets sorted asap!

  • Hi walby :)

was just coming on to update, i went to bank this morning, closed the account got a cheque for £5,000 (and odds) and cash 1,500...and paid the overdraft off....so that's £650 off my debt :):T:j not quite what i wanted lol but we were planning on putting some bonus money on the debts anyway, although it was going to be the tax bill lol. This instead is now going onto the DMP so in reality we are up on debt by about a grand. But tbh i am not adding in the tax bill on my 'pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge' as this would just kill me to see it going up instead of down :rotfl:

Anyway hubby has been knocked off for leave now so am going to enjoy some family time :D

  • OOh just got off the phone to the CCCS and sorted out the extra bill (grr) and told them not to make a payment to the Santander. Had to go through my budget again with them, and my new DFD is 2015 (end of) but am hoping to get that down a it, i want some money in my savings as our buffer and i will then start putting extra money towards our DMP.

Have received about 4 letters all defaulting my account. Not sure if this means they will send my account on to debt collectors now or whether it just means my account has one default against it (confused.com) i guess i will soon find out. And considering they are all charging 30+% i guess i'm not too bothered if they do default and pass the debt on.

Hubby called up Aqua about his credit card, they kept calling whilst he was out of the country and they have stopped all interest to be reviewed in 12 months :T so i think that is one outright default, 3 CC stopped interest, and the rest are slowly either defaulting me, have lowered interest or completely ignored me!!!

I think i will leave the DMP to settle down a bit and then re-send letters out to ask again that companies stop interest. On the DMP threads though i think the advice is to wait 6 months or so for all accounts to settle (and either default you or not)...so only 3 months and i will call them/send letters again.

Feeling quite positive about it even though the wages were messed up!

Anyhow off to catch up on eastenders :)

  • It's been a few days since i last updated so thought i would pop on, on my new netbook that hubby bought me with his bonus :), we also had a spend up in the shops on new clothes, shoes etc (got my first new pair of sandals in 4 years!!! :j) i'm feeling quite bad about spending all this money considering the situation we were in say in January...literally hand to mouth lifestyle, now as soon as hubby has money in his pocket it burns a hole and has to be spent! I guess once it's gone it's gone?! And wages are back to normal next month so no tax relief in it, no bonus etc, so i hope he buys us a holiday before it all goes ;):rotfl:

Obviously i tried to explain the budget and the envelope system to DH and he just kinda patted me on the back and gestured it was a good idea, similar to how you would talk to your 6 year old if they had just drawn a nice picture *sigh* perhaps the idea of a budget will be of more use to him when we have no surplus in the bank!?!

Because of wages being messed up and the santander writing us a cheque out we have to wait until it has cleared then we can sort out holiday and use any extra money to put in the buffer. That's if something that has to be bought doesn't crop up *rolls eyes*

Oh and i also got another lil pressie of a zumba wii game! I have wanted to try it for ageeeeeeees now and love dancing so i am hoping it is easy-ish and addictive lol so i can get myself fit and perhaps lose a few lb's (a stone would be fab lol) and tone up!! I'll let ya know how i get on ;)

We placed some bets on the grand national today and DD horse came in 3rd! she won a tenner, but considering we spent £14 we were still £4 down lol, good job we only bet once a year as we don't seem to be very good at picking winners! -Very sad to hear 2 horses were put down after the race though :( in this day and age you don't expect to hear that :(
