  • well a bit of a spendy day today,

My DS has lost my mobile charger & i suspect he has put it in the bin it's been gone for a week now and i caught him putting my printer cable in the bin this morning so i'm now guessing that's why i can't find the phone charger :doh:so anyway i need a phone so popped to te$co and spent:

    £29.97 - cheapest 02 phone could see
    £2.99 - nappies
    £4.99 - Baby wipes (reduced)
£2 - reduced mens thermal socks (4 pairs)
    £0.25- reduced scarf for DS
£2 - 2 cartons milkshakes (trying to get ds to drink milk- he hates it!)
    £1.80 - grapes reduced
    £0.75 - strawberries reduced
£2.02- 4 dummys! (really want my kids off these soon!)
    £1.01 - satsuma/small orangey things for kids

    So total grocery spend: £13.54
    Total clothing allowance spend: £2.25
Total from pocket money: £31.99 (dummys and phone)

Not too bad but i am going to go waaaaay over my GC this month! Next month i will see how many weeks are in the month before setting my target :rotfl: (just checked 4 and bit weeks- so maybe do-able on target?!)

HUbby is home soon :) less than 3 weeks! BUT means from aprils pay onward we will be £300 or so worse off as no tax relief on the pay :( BUT i'd rather have him home than the money! May mean we need to be a bit tighter on the budgets is all....although tbh i have NO idea how i will get my food shop in for 5 people (son is home for most of march on holiday) on the same budget but i need to really as we won't have the money spare!

Still waiting for a travel claim, hoping it's next week as i could use that to top up my savings as the car is most definately on its way out  the warning sign for hand brake is flashing up again (even though it is working??)! think we might swap it for a cheap estate..don't even care if it is really old so long as it works!!!

Anyway off for a :coffee: & watch some rubbish t.v lol :rotfl:hope everyone is having a lovely day! It's the weekend nearly!

  • Well it's a free listing day on ebay, and i'm trying to muster the energy to take pics of EVERYTHING that i want to sell that is big! The ones that usually cost me to list...the ones that are 99p items i will leave as i can do those for free whenever. I've already re-listed about 12 or so items that didn't sell from last free listing day (more expensive items)

I have 13 items ending today on ebay and have bids on 4 for around £15 total so far but 11 hours left to go :T so hopefully i will make a bit more and sell a few more items too! My plan is to empty my ebay cupboard (by selling it all) and using that as my pressie cupboard! But I have a way to go yet lol so DS1 bed is where i put most things atm....and when he is home for Easter it will be all over my bedroom floor no doubt!

Not going out today so hopefully a NSD (need to watch myself on internet shopping!!) i'm sure i'll be back later to update lol

Oh and i can finally start on my craft project next week as i have roped a friend in who is a whiz on the sewing machine :D :T:j

  • not very well! A friend popped over, she's having a hard time atm with the men away, and has 2 little ones like me so i went to the park with her and then bk to hers so she had some company. AND ordered a chinese so not a NSD after all! But i felt rude saying, actually i have a spag bol defrosting in the fridge we're fine :o and tbh it was yummy ;)

SO i didn't list any new items....which is now my job for today! BUT now the washing machine is on the blink, it needs a new rubber seal which i have no idea how to fix, and as hubby is home in a couple of weeks (2 weeks today :j) i don't want to call out a plumber/washing machine repairman, which pre-MSE i would have done and whacked on cc. So am trying to be good and will instead see if there is a local launderette and stick it all in one big wash, i have a tumble drier so no probs drying at home.

But this is now gonna effect how much i can list on ebay! grr! so gonna have to get out the big bits later and put those on whilst it's free!

I have this year from ebay made £47.40 :j:T which is brill i think as i was going to bag it all up and shove in charity shop! And at the mo, I am a bit of a charity case :rotfl:

    So plans for next week:
Stick to a food budget of less than £60
    Send off ebay things monday
    Tidy ebay cupboard up :o
Make meal plan from freezer stock for following week
Tidy son's room as he is home at end of month :j (this is currently covered in my clothes waiting for my new furniture lol)
Call and see where new furniture is!
Get that lawn mower delivered (ordered too lol)
Start on DD quilt- have a friend coming to help with this on friday :T
    get 4 NSD
Try not to spend ANYTHING!! :rotfl:

oh well have to set a target, even if totally unrealistic :p

Anyway off to see if i can beg a waching machine off a friend for the afternoon so i don't have to even pay the launderette (unlikely though!)

    Hey DFW321

Just found your thread again, didn't link it last time, and was having trouble finding you!

You sound as if you have been V busy, good luck on the ebay stuff. I need to do some of that today too. its a bit tedious but helps to clear out the clutter and to earn some extra cash. Its all good.

Good luck with the washing machine also. If it packs up completely, you can always go on freecycle, to see if anyone has one going for free. Yesterday I went to a waste not want not sale run by the environmental department of the council. basically you take along what you don't want, as do hundreds of others, and you can take whatever is there. I used this for things we wanted to get rid of which are a bit bulky but too good for the tip, so a coffee machine, some good quality photo and picture frames, tons of old music tapes etc. But came away with a TV for my sons room as he has now moved back home. What a brilliant idea!

oooohhh love the sound of the quiltmaking, what a lovely thing this will be for your DD to use and treasure for when she is older.

Anyway must run as have to study all day today, but glad that i found you on here. Enjoy the rest of the day. Dolly x ;)

  • Hi dolly, thanks for popping by :)

I hope you got some bits on ebay and studied hard!! lol

Well I have been on ebay (looking to buy haha rather than selling this morning) but can see my washing machine part for only £11.99! :T so i've emailed the seller just to make sure it is the right part! AND i also asked if it came with instructions on how to fit it :rotfl:yes i am going to attempt to do it myself  that should be fun!

My friend has come and taken away ALL of my washing and stuck them all on quick loads for me, most of it probabaly wont clean properly lol as i have to wash the kids stuff on HOT and put lots of wash powder in to get the stains out but i wasn't going to be ungrateful nor cheeky :p so it'll do until mine is fixed & it's not all over my kitchen floor anymore, bonus lol

I have tidied up this morning and put on a spag bol in the slow cooker....at least it started out as a spag bol now it has brocolli in (was going a bit off colour otherwise) a whole punnet of mushrooms, peas, peppers, & tomato ketchup to bulk the sauce out a bit :rotfl: hmm not really sure what to call that dinner but let's hope it's edible as there is about 15 portions in there  went a little over the top there haha

Right off to take pics for Ebay i WILL get at least one thing on today!

    Hey babe,

I NEEEEEED to get listing on ebay today, especially if it's a free day.

I feel for you not having a washing machine.... ours broke a little while ago and I was making loads of trip down the laundrette, as well as needing to use there tumble drier and it cost a fortune! But then I blagged using mum's instead :D

It must be hard living with your family all in different places but I bet all the kids will just be bouncing off the walls with joy in a few weeks :j

Good luck with the spag-bol-stew-goulash thingy :T
