  • What a day you had yesterday Hun.

Please don't go beating yourself up over the diagnosis, 11 plus etc etc. As we have said before with or without the diagnosis the 11 plus would have been a lottery anyway . This is a good thing, at least now he will get the help he needs, although being such a clever boy anyway it appears that even with his dyslexia he is still head and shoulders above many of his peers academically . You've had some lovely comments and advice here from those with first hand experience of dyslexia, and BR's long list of famous people puts him in very very good company !

I wonder also if the local comp would have diagnosed him, so its great that he is still young enough to be able to get the help and good grades. How is he getting on being back at school this week ?

He seems to be a little happier this half term :) no tears, no mood swings on the phone. Constantly complaining about headaches & sleep though and now we have this diagnosis i've convinced myself it's all to do with the same thing

And you're right I have had some lovely comments, am so glad i came on this morning and read them before starting my day, they do actually make me feel better about it all :iloveyou::happylove:p

And i am def stealing BR list into a text later to send to ds lol i think that will make him feel better :) although to be honest, he's not been negative about the results i think he is happy that it wasn't all in his head the problems he was having :T

i've been emailing his SENco teacher this morning and she has agreed to fit him in for handwriting help with the GSCE & AS level students :T sometimes it does help to be a pushy mum huh ;) He'd have been waiting until next school year otherwise to get any help! :)

ooh that sounds better than glasses i honestly think he will just outright say NO! to wearing them, he's not fashion conscious but he is very aware of being different or standing out from people. Always has been and will totally freak out i reckon if he has to wear glasses that are bright blue

  • I am most definitely one of "those" mums that I'm sure the teachers talk about in the staff room, but in some cases its defiantly needed.Brilliant news that he has been fitted in this school year for the additional help. Would love to know what he thinks of BR's list !!:D

So glad he seems happier this term, I'm inclined to agree with you , the headaches and tiredness could very well be linked I would have thought. Not that I know much about it all, but it makes sense. Hopefully once this is sorted, you will not only have a super gifted and talented little boy, but also a happy one as well !!

Hope you are feeling better now !:)

  • Ok just received my DR order and omg it looks lovely. It was better packaged than my underwear from la senza (and i was always impressed with how they package their undies lol)

The meat is all portioned out and vacuum packed for you. it comes in lovely little gift type boxes, with recipe booklets and all sorts  am very impressed!

my approved food orders- i think someone asked what i would recommend- and i wanted to wait until my latest order arrived!

But i recommend (for price & taste)-

    fitflakes cereals
batteries that they sell (48 for £1.50)
    Noodles
    poppadums
tins (had all sorts and all good quality)
    pasta
Kids cereals (latest on offer was honey monster ones)
toilet rolls (work out about 30p a roll)
    toiletries- shampoo- 33p each
conditioner - 33p each (both were asda own brand smell nice fine for kids & hubby- i'm on the look out for pantene on offer again though:rotfl:)
toothpaste £1 for 2 tubes when i last ordered (100ml colgate)

ummmmmmmm well actually i've not had anything bad :D so would recommend whatever you fancy :rotfl: i know i know i'm so helpful :p

  • It was me, and yes you are ever so helpful !!!

But..... I am supposed to be working and I keep getting distracted by MSE, so I'm going now, but before I depart what is DR ?!! Am I being dim again ?!:rotfl:Was trying to see a connection between DR and La Senza and packaged meats but nothing came to mind !!

Do you remember those little scented balls they used to wrap in the tissue paper at La Senza x
