By the way just to make you all feel a bit better, it is pouring here today :)

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • morning.
DS settled at school when I left him.....the autism specialist teacher is there today to observe him and speak to the teachers so we will see.
Ended up going to bed at 8pm as was soooooo stressed and tired. Feel more stable today although my stress rash is out in full effect:o

RR :mad:your poor dad! I dont know how these people get into the jobs. Years ago I did some agency work and as a hospital nurse always found the nursing homes etc very worrying. I did a night shift in one where the other regular nurse there was drunk on duty:eek:. She had all the residents tablets in named pots on a tray and dropped it...she then was just stuffing handfuls of tablets into random pots to give to the residents:eek:. until I stopped her. She then fell into a drunken stupor asleep on a sofa. I reported it to the charge nurse in the morning and refused to go back there. she ended up getting sacked ...apparently she was in a lot of debt and working 3 jobs to try to get by. I felt a bit bad about losing her one of her jobs in a way given her situation but the residents safety had to come first.
Have made a lemon cake today and a loaf is in BM. Washing ready to dry, need to clean through and do a pile of ironing. I just want to sit and read my book:o
I feel totally overwhelmed by the stress of DS at the moment and feel like I am hanging onto my sanity by the skin of my teeth:o

nice and sunny but a little cool here-light level is sufficient to need sunglasses.

İ was in a very 'strange' hospital once and was bullied by a male member of staff -i complained and got no sympathy! in hindesight it was what i needed at the time! not that i condone bullying an old man--i just needed kicking up the bum to get on with life!-oh the good times i have lived!

İts all quiet here-i am pushing my wife to sort out the house insurance--building and contents because we have been uninsured since october and this is an earthquke zone and it is a legal requirement-i can see me playing the leading roll in 'midnight express'!

The car money is stashed--i am watching the pound/ lira rate and feeling 'blue' as it goes the wrong way for me!-i bought some gold and that has gone up but still in minus numbers!

i have a quiet day at work but our business partner is ill and i have to teach one of her students later which is a pain because i cant go home early.

-Feeling settled all in all and after this weekend we have no kids in the school because its the end of term 2 week break after saturday--pity the adults dont stop!

  • Hi there

Enjoying a day off after working two evenings this week so just catching up. Had to pop out and to return some clothes and have also managed to walk doglet AND she didn't get my new car toooooo muddy :p , yes I know it's inevitable eventually but it'd be nice to keep it clean for longer than 3 days!

WM been on but even though it's breezy it's flippin' freezing and a couple of flurries of snow so it's draped around the radiators. Spicy parsnip soup for lunch, sadly not homemade :(, jacket pots for dinner :j

Honeybee - look at the Open University - they do a book- keeping course - I'm mid way through it at the mo. It's not cheap but OU are very good!

Rozmister will definitely try that, thanks for the advice.

I think there is something in the air today, lots of stressed people. I think going to combat and relieving some stress sounds like a great idea.

This morning on the news there was a piece about meditation and how it can help you feel happier and more peaceful. There is more info on the BBC website. I am going to give it a go:)

Hugs and good vibes for Redruby, hope you get everything sorted out, I am very angry on your dad's behalf, if you need a posse, give me a shout!

JackieO, that's a shame about your WM. Personally I can't see past Indesit, my last WM was 13 years old when it died, and this one hasn't given me a second's trouble. My sister has had the same indesit machine for 16 years!! I did try a different model but it only lasted about eight months, and I got my money back. I would advise Googling "problems with...." and the make and model before buying in case you get one of those machines with the inherent problems.

Busy here, all OK though, hugs, congratulations and well done where needed. Hugs at arms length for the sick ones though :p:D

Just - well until 8.30 am! - had my first night's sleep on my new adjustable bed with memory foam mattress, working from home today so a lie - in. What utter bliss. No more having to stay up until 2 am as I knew I wouldn't sleep unless exhausted. My old bed was completely shot, mattress was in a dire state and not helping my arthritis one bit.

It's a single bed, bit of a mind-shift after sleeping in doubles and king-sizes for the last 35 years. I bought some lovely Egyptian cotton and poly-cotton bedding though, plus a duck feather and down duvet, to make me feel happy.

My OS today is making home made pizzas using a salami from Christmas that has just hit the Best By date.
