    You around?

I have to go shortly but please please think about talking to CAP.

Do you have a contact, sober buddy whose been where you have been, who you can off load onto?

If you are not working, can you sign on to JSA to start with - to prove willing and then try to get back on ESA?

Hold on there, there is help.

Remember that piccie of the girl being swept away by the flashfloods in Aus? She did not even know she was on the missing list.

Thankfully when she was washed round the corner, a bloke managed to get hold of her outstretched hand and pul her to safety. His mate dragged her mum out too.

There's load of folks here waiting for you to stretch your arms out for help.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

read with dismay how bad being in debt makes you feel , I was there once and most of us on this forum has been there too . dont give up, we didn't its a long journey to become debt free , i hoping that this year ,sept 2011 i will be :j,its taken a five long years but once you get on the path ,and as one debt is cleared and you move on to tackle the next one you feel kind of elated and full of self esteem again , i now cant wait to be debt free and actually be able to save out of my wages .
  • Oh sim - I have just read your post and I am so upset. The tears are tripping me up and I feel, really feel for you and what you are going through. I do occassionally actually more than occassionally ask the same questions - like whats the point and what am I doing wrong etc, and I never ever get an answer. I am in a real bad place right now and have been for a while. The world at large thinks I am funny, cheerful, kind and decent. In my world I am none of these things. But I know and you know that we are worth so much more than we think. We, you and I deserve soooo much more and somewhere along the line we will come through and the most important lesson (god I hate that learning curve crap) that we will learn is that we are worth it and we are important in this life we are living. You dont say what sex you are? Or how old you are?

Noone has ever said to me that it was going to be easy but I really didnt expect it to be this hard........

I hope you are eating something and at the very least you are reaching out. Keep reaching and we are all here for you..

    Take care Mrs s

    Hi Simon,

It sounds a dark place at the moment - but l echo all the statements above. And most important your situation is NOT insolvable, it just seems it - there is always a route. There are always solutions, you need to go back and talk to the CCCS - please.

Or you may find http://www.capuk.org/home/index.php helpful (dont worry about the Christian bit its how they're funded) they're good at helping people when they're struggling to deal with the struggle to deal with debts.

Also you say you've no friends. Well just to start - read above, there are people here who care and want to know you're ok. Often when I've seen people in dark places as you are right now, its the catalyst for a fresh slate and time to start again.

Its easy to catastrophise (silly american word) and everything feels like its piling in on top - more people than you know have been there- and at that moment it seems like nothing will ever be right again. Yet it gets better.

So please call one of the agencies above - and do let us all know you're ok.

  • Sim, sorry to hear of all thats going on right now and I can definately understand where you are coming from having hit the wall you are experiencing a few times in the last 15 years I have been in debt, the most recent being November.

Can I echo Martin above and encourage you to contact CAPuk. I do some voluntary work for them and on top of the financial help they can offer, they often have huge other support networks and facilities that you can tap into. Things like support whilst you work through the emotional crap that comes with living in this situation. A befriender just to chat to and do stuff with. They can sometimes help with food shopping, furniture and even the opportunity to go to some free social events and holidays.

You are valuable, you are worthwhile and it is worth pushing through this.

    Best wishes
