I know i am probably behind the times but oh well, this sat nav will only connect via usb 2 with active sync and i only have usb 1 DOH!! can it be updated without active sync and with usb 1, tried the evesham help line and the guy just listened and didnt have a clue about the machine. Got mine from Burnden park Asda they seem to have a few in.....

You dont need ativesync just plug it in your pc and it will pick it up as a removable drive

If you read the first couple of pages on this thread then your answer will have already been answered. There's a lot of comments regarding this unit already made :)
  • I really like mine, works very well, although the Police stations seem to be all Irish and it seems to be sponsored by Partco for car spares.

Any idea how to sort out the police stations in the POI section?

Speed camera alerts are annoying when they go off midway through a verbal prompt.

Also told that ASDA are getting more in stock...still at £99, as per the TV advert.

Overall, I am really impressed as for the money, it does the job, although it cannot compare with local knowledge, but soon re routes.

    Go get one !
  • Are you saying, sock-uk, that you bought, unwrapped and used two seperate SatNav purchases fully intending to take one of the now second hand units back? How cheeky are you! And the rest of you doing that. Imagine being the owner of a store and someone does that to you, how would you feel about that? Would you see it as a theft of your profits and time? Unbelievable.

You may see that as a problem, but Asda dont. When I purchased mine, I was unsure about it and the girl who served me told me she didnt know to much about sat navs so told me to take it away and "try it", if i dont like it bring it back within 28 days and get a refund.

Irrespective of both companies offering a full refund within 28 days if you don't like it, Actually, no, both units are still fully wrapped and sealed.

I bought the ICN330 first seeing it was £99. Then when I saw the evesham was touch screen I bought that too (because I didn't want to miss the bargain), hoping people would post reviews on here and then I could make my choice.

As it happens i've made my choice and the ICN330 went back to Tescos last night for a refund, FULLY SEALED and in shop-bought and saleable condition.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • Good for you, smartie1976 (wish my birthdate was in the seventies (guess)!

I too bought the 6200 and am very pleased with it. The minor faults it has I can live with as at £99 they are irrelevent. It also seems that even more expensive ones have similar faults anyway and many much worse faults (losing signal on >£200 units is totally unacceptable, for example - see Amazon feedback on various models).

Does anyone know if it is possible to only have directions when you get near a junction instead of reporting 2 miles ahead (motorways excepted as you need to get in lane)? I find it a bit annoying when I am getting instructions unnecessarily while in conversation or listening to music. It might make me 'tune out' the voice eventually and then I will be in trouble (as with my beloved!).

Also, not that any of us need it(?!), but does anyone know how to increase the speed camera warning volume only? Can an audio file be replaced with your own, and if so, what would you use to do it? The TomTom one (my friend has one and the 6200 is just as good) has a VERY LOUD warning which is what you want in case you drift over the limit whilst listening to the radio.

    Many Thanks for any help.
