Very excited, we went to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham yesterday and ordered our rings... mine was a little more than budgeted but the OH's was a little less so that's OK
We haggled with them and I think (hope) we got a good deal, though neither of us really know much about gold/jewellery prices!
Mine is a 18ct white gold ring with a twist in the centre and three small channel set diamonds either side. OH's in a plain 4mm palladium band.... We have to wait a while for them to be made but I want them now!Going to be a struggle to not keep getting them out to look at once we have them!
Bubbles - I really like your ring! Mine needed to have some kind of shape in the middle as my engagement ring is a princess cut stone and it doesn't sit nicely against a flat ring, otherwise I think I would have had something very simple and pretty like yours
Winelady- Congratulations on finding your dress! and nice work on the wineYou've got all the important things sorted!
The Seventh - I like your invites they look very smart and I like that you've got something personal to you on them
White Sapphire - Great bargain hunting on the boots! I find myself searching for hours when I find something I like just to try and find it a few pounds cheaper! I drive my OH mad with it!
Dress shopping next weekend! We went to a wedding fayre today which had a catwalk show, it made me really want to try things on! VERY EXCITED!******************************************

thanx amy urs sound lovely, i should be getting mine on the 22nd so i no what u mean about wanting to get it out all the time, i don't no how I'm not going to wear it for a year! i really wanted OH to have a matching one with a diamond but he doesn't think its manly enough! He wanted one with flames on to match his tattoo which was fine by me but he's now saying there's no point in him having a fancy one as he can't wear it at work so argos here we come, we sold our old mobiles to mazuma for argos vouchers so theyl pay for it!I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

So far I've:
Booked venue & paid deposit
Reserved registrar and made appointment to give notice
Booked photographer (pay deposit next week)
Chosen bridesmaids (1 big, 1 little)
Sent save-the-dates
Chosen shoes (converse trainers)
Chosen music for entrance and leaving ceremony (Bach's minuet in G major and Lover's Concerto)
Chosen one reading (the Dinosaur one)
Don't think I'm doing too bad for a year to go...We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Amy, your ring sounds a little like mine, with a twist in the centre. Still haven't picked it up yet - was waiting for some money to arrive, and then the jeweller asked if she could keep it for a week to make a mould in case she wanted to use the style again. Hopefully I can pick it up this weekend.
Well done on the MSE-ing for your H2B's ring bubbles! Martin would be proud :money:
I've decided to hold fire on those boots - I keep changing my mind about them, and think that to be honest I just want them to wear generally rather than for my wedding!
Emmylou, you are very organised!! I've only done three things out of your list  I've printed off a To Do list today to make sure we space out the tasks - at the moment I'm spending ages looking at pretty things but no effort is being put into finding a photographer, DJ, band, confirming the guest list so we can actually publicise our date that we've known since January, etc....
So, the search for shoes and jewellery is on hold until stuff that might get booked up or cause a problem if left much longer has been done. Of course, if I should just happen to see the perfect shoes I won't ignore them... :rotfl:Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

I have also reported the spammer, as well as reporting their other posts.
If I were going to hire a marquee, I would now definitely not hire one from there, just because spammers annoy me
EDIT: Spammer now zapped - woohoo!
Hope everyone is doing well - I ordered some sweet pea seeds the other day in cream, purple and peach - if they turn out well they will be my wedding flowers! I'll have a contingency plan in place just in case something happens to them thoughMarrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Wow bubbles, I'm impressed! Got nowhere near that much done yet. I have set up a To Do list though, with approximate timescales for getting each thing done. I'm trying to ignore everything that isn't in the '10-12 months before' bracket, otherwise I will either get overwhelmed or spend too long on pretty but not vital things and not get the main stuff done in time!
