  • hey guys - could anyone take a look at my rough draft for invites and offer any thoughts?

I wanted to keep it informal and friendly - but also be polite and 'timeless', if possible

obviously, i've blanked out some stuff for privacy!

the right hand side is wider so that i have space for a design or some paper punches or sparkles or something!
the dice are because david collects them (he has hundreds!) and the seven dots are because i'm Seventh! (the two is because we're a couple!)

any thoughts? is the wording awkward / could it be improved?

    thanks!
    Life on a shoestring!

I've decided to make my invites from scratch.. I'm doing okay so far but I'm having trouble sourcing half inch square pieces of rasberyy card.. very specific, haha. I feel like I've looked all over online but I think I'm going to have to go to hobbycraft or paperchase and have a good look around.
Currently my invites are 5" x 7" ivory card with rasberry ribbon down the front crease side, wedding invitation sick ons in the right hand top corner and small jems in top right and bottom left corners. (sooo sorry i havent got a pic!!) I'm planning on putting overlapping half inch squares in the left bottom corner with a small silver heart in the middle. very simple. :)
hope someone can help me find what i'm after!

    try here or here

    thanks!

I like it TheSeventh - I did wonder about the dice at first but then I read what you'd written & obviously it means something to you as a couple!!

It's a really simple and classy design - I love the font too :)

Sure others will be able to offer more helpful feedback with regards to the wording.
  • Like the invites The Seventh! It's good that you've got something of yourselves as a couple in them. I think that the wording is fine.

Well, I've fallen in love.... with a pair of boots. :o There was I, innocently reading emails, when I followed a link from a certain blog I subscribe to (clue: starts with 'o' and ends with 'ffbeat bride') and found these beauties. Completely not what I was thinking of for my wedding shoes, but I have just spent ten minutes gazing longingly at them!!! Not sure if my budget will stretch to them, as they are around £107.50, but I'd wear them again loads... :D:cool:

I'll leave it a little while then go back and see if I still love them as much!

    Hope everyone is well!

  • Hi everyone!

I'm a Sept 2012 Bride- the church is all booked for 1st September! Not done very much other than that, only been engaged for 6 weeks and also completing on our first house next week so it's been a bit manic but once we're moved I'm excited to get on with wedding planning! :j

Would love to know of any other Sept 1st brides or Sussex brides (was a midlandsfairy up until 2011 but now moved back down south)

    Lucy
Very excited to be marrying my partner in crime for the last 7 years in September 2012 :j
No longer a midlandsfairy... back living in the sunny south!
  • Oops, clearly should have looked before posting, would have seen another Sept 1st bride just above my post, sorry White_Sapphire!!

    Hi everyone anyway! :D

Hi midlandsfairy! :hello: Congrats on your engagement! Hehe, you are date quadruplets with katyann, lizbristol and me :D

Good luck with the move, and keep us up to date with your plans when you have time to do them ;)
