Hi Autumnbride, I didn't know you were a Sep2012-er!! What's your date hun, I'll add you to our list?

This is my list of stuff done:
    - Day and evening venues booked
    - Humanist Celebrant booked
    - Appointment booked to give notice at registry office
    - First mock-up of wedding dress pretty much done, bar some tweaking
    - My wedding ring ready
    - Dress pattern chosen for MoH (being made by my mum :T)
    - Bought Social Stirrers (little question cards) to put on tables, and fabric squares to wrap favours in - need more fabric but haven't decided on which colours to use yet!
We have details of a few photographers, so will be contacting them in the next couple of weeks. I've got a few other things decided or near being decided, like flowers, but that still need actually sorting out as I've done nothing about them but just think "oh, that'll be good" :D

Looks like I've done more than I feel I have, IYKWIM, but two of the main things that are likely to be booked up quickly - photographer and dj - are nowhere near sorted yet!
:heart::heart: Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012 :heart::heart:

  • I've decided to make my invites from scratch.. I'm doing okay so far but I'm having trouble sourcing half inch square pieces of rasberyy card.. very specific, haha. I feel like I've looked all over online but I think I'm going to have to go to hobbycraft or paperchase and have a good look around.
Currently my invites are 5" x 7" ivory card with rasberry ribbon down the front crease side, wedding invitation sick ons in the right hand top corner and small jems in top right and bottom left corners. (sooo sorry i havent got a pic!!) I'm planning on putting overlapping half inch squares in the left bottom corner with a small silver heart in the middle. very simple. :)
hope someone can help me find what i'm after!
    on the road to recovery..:o
  • Thought I'd add to the things done so far theme:

    Humanist celebrant booked
    Venue booked
    Evening hog roast sorted
    Paying bar provisionally booked
    DJ booked
    Cars booked
    Tiara made
    BM necklaces bought
Materials for veil bought and veil being made now - will take months because 2500 sead beads to be sewn on individually!
Shoes and legal ceremony outfit bought
    Photographer booked
Made a start on making bunting
Some table decorations bought - tea light vases, tea lights, table runners - still loads to sort out
Appointment made to discuss cake and catering with friend who is doing this

  • Yep its a sapphire, sapphire lol
My engagement ring has a sapphire in but I'm not keen on it, its yellow gold with tiny diamonds but I'd have loved silver with a bigger diamond! I've never not worn it in nearly 10 years though because of its sentiment, but i want to just wear my wedding ring after that's why i chose a sapphire ring

  • Sure!! Im getting married to Mark on 22nd Sept 2012 in Knowle :T

    yeahhh! :D
  • Yay! AutumnBride85 - we are date-twins!
    Life on a shoestring!
  • Hi ladies. Well I'v got the dress sorted :-)). I'm a big girl and was supper stressed about the dress. Found a fantastic shop in Milton Keynes called About a bride.Sample dresses are in grown up girl sizes, so got to try on lots. The dress cost 1000 pounds but it is wonderful, made to measure and the exact colour i wanted. Plus we got a 10% discount for ordering on the 1st visit. So that has paid for my flower girls dress and they are going to sparkle her skirt for me.
Wine - well easy for me as i work for a fine wine company. So ordered Pink champagne for the toast when we had it on offer £26 + vat instead of £32 +vat and french fizz £12.99 + vat ( not champagne as the vine yard is outside of Champagne, but very lovely, for welcome bellini's.
Found a site for ballons and helium to decorate tables and love the Ikea idea for table decorations.
    Making invites starting next month.
Looking for bunting - any good ideas would be welcome. My colours are toffee, old gold and peacock purple ( i think :-))
Looking for cheap cotton bedsheets for table cloths and putting organza runners down the tables. Having long rectory style table layout.

Great news about the dress! And also the wine - that's two of the most important things done! :D

As for bunting, can you make it yourself or get a friend to do it? You can get fabric scraps from ebay, and they often group them into specific colours. Beautiful colour scheme by the way!

Maybe wait for the January sales for bedsheets?
