Welcome margatehoney!! Impressed with your budget, especially your cake. ;)

Oooh, like the idea of the Amybettb! Looking forward to watching that!:j

On the venue front, my dad and step mum still havent been back in touch to say whether they have been to Dewsbury Golf Club. :( But, its ok as me and OH viewed another venue!!! The Manor Golf Club

We love it, more so than the other, and has really good access. Even has a lawn out the back to use as you wish, OH wants to use it to have games on! Only trouble is, its booked on that date by a ladys golf group....manager is getting back to me to let me know if they will move the date...!!! :T

That venue looks lovely Natalie! I really hope the golf group moves their date for you *crosses fingers*

Tracey, I lovethe idea of engraving your wedding ring, and I hope it doesn't cost very much to do!! I think they do it pretty quickly so it shouldn't do. 'Hakuna Matata' is a great quote, although may I suggest your wedding date on the inside of his so he has no excuse for forgetting your anniversary? ;)

hmmm not sure how you make those?
http://www.kid-craft-central.com/pom-poms.html has a great set of instructions but you can vary the size of the cardboard doughnuts to make the size you need

yeah i think so because im hoping to maybe have the elephants slightly raised with those foam pad things, and im worried after a year it will lose abit of its 'stick'. my auntie made me a 3d crib out of card when my daughter was born, and after a few months nearly all the fabric flowers she had glued on had fallen off and the glue had turned yellow. Thats the only thing im worried about or else i would have had them all done by now LOL

    that makes sence!

Welcome margatehoney you're getting married on the same date as Joanneinwonderland and me and sound so organised!

White sapphire the dress looks stunning!

nat, yeah i agree with the others, let them check the venue out first n see what they think. your bound to run into problems with weddings....if it all run smoothly id be worried that the actual day itself went wrong LOL we have trouble with guest list etc at the moment! me too!

Guest List is Ok having trouble with BM and colour schemes as two of them and my mum hate the blue and chocolate colour scheme. my best friend who has asian skin has pointed out that she would look a bit lost is brown but likes the blue. My Sister hates both! and I'd hate to have her in something she doesn't feel confindent in as she lacks confidence and get the giggles when she's nervous!she created a massive que at her graduation cause of her giggles ( so i'm going to suggest an extra hour for photos!) the thing is I really like them all in the same colour I don't mind if the wear different styles as I feel this would work better as ones an apple shape, one alethic type build and one a petite hourglass shape! I hope to get this sorted soon as want to get on with make the invites and use the colour of the dresses in the invites! I just feel at the moment I'm loosing control of having the wedding I've dreamed about but don't really know how to put this across without hurting anyones feelings! sorry to rant

On a more positive note had a Long chat with my mum and my best friend and desided to have a look at getting a dress made as not really seeing anything that is really me.

lol i thought about the date too! im hoping it isnt too expensive aswell or else it will defeat the object of having a budget! x

that sounds like a lovely colour scheme....i say stuff what everyone else thinks....its your day...if they dont like it tell them to get married themselves and do it their way!

and i understand where your asian friend is coming from....they seem to really suit blue! as for your sister just tell her its what you want and if shes not happy then tell her to stop being selfish...its not her day, its yours!

OK i seem to be slightly on a roll with the whole wedding thing now (not actually buying....but more researching!)

I didnt know what to use to put the cards in, people just use boxes, or bird cages, suitcases etc ive had a quick scoot on the internet and seen bird houses etc....and i though about a pirate treasure chest! (I knew i could sneak the goonies into my wedding somehow!) and i can put the goonies skull n cross bones on it etc :) LOL
OR i could go down the birdcage route (animals at the zoo and all that!) and i can use it afterwards for photoshoots for my cakes etc.

and THEN i thought about guestbooks.....theres either your normal book, the books they give you if you hire a photobooth, signing pieces of paper and hanging them on a line to later be stuck in a scrap book, pebbles etc
and i came across this which im pretty much set on:
    Screen_shot_2011-04-20_at_12.11.37_PM.png

they can write their names with their fingerprints......they also do peacocks, houses with balloons, cars with balloons etc :)

and have a separate print (of maybe two giraffes) on a big mount where they can all write messages round them also to hang in the house :)

has anyone else had thoughts on that sort of stuff yet?

    Hey all,

Does everyone have wedding insurance? If so where did you get it from, what did you cover etc etc?

I'm a bit confused by it... can't decide if it's worth doing or not!

NuttyMummy - LOVE the finger print tree :)

Scottsbride - It's your wedding, so do what makes you happy. At the end of the day its your and your husband to be's day not anyone elses.

    Hi Amy,

I've got mine with Ecclesiastical & it was £50 for the cover I needed. You can tailor your policy to different levels for each aspect & add or remove things so it does seem quiet good.
Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Thanks for all the lovely advise. I'm going to see my sister in a couple of months in the mean time send her some of the ideas I have. I guess I just don't have that much confidence in standing up to her when it comes to clothes! as she usually advises me on what suits me when we go shopping which is a rare as my credit card and feet can't take the pace also I hate clothes and shoe shopping as I get really self consuous.

    thanks amy :)

scots, its one thing telling you what shape of clothes will suit....but dont let her rule over the colour!! the colour scheme is YOUR choice. give her the colour and let her search for a dress that suits her shape. You dont need to stand up against her, just say you like these colours, these are the colours of your wedding you would like her to wear this colour but let her choose her own style/shape of dress xx

as for insurance....its not something ive looked into yet...and dont know whether to or not?

Fawny- Thanks for the insurance recommendation.

I think I might hold off on getting insurance until we start getting a few more things... or not... argh, I'm so indecisive!

I've gone a little insane over the last week (possibly due to the arrival of my giraffes :p) and ordered a bridesmaids dress from the internet... now I have to try and get hold of my very disorganised bridesmaid to get her to try it on to see if it fits (so i can return it if it doesn't)... BUT in addition to that I saw some other dresses I liked on ebay... put in a bid not expecting to win them and won those too...so now I have more dresses than I have bridesmaids! oops... Luckily the ebay ones includes one in my size, and its a nice dress that doesn't necessarily have to be for a bridesmaid, so I could wear it to a wedding I'm attending soon! ha!
