Can you make them like woolen pompoms but with paper rafffeea (excuss spelling) and stop at the point where you need to cut around the cardbord circles

hmmm not sure how you make those?
this is how you make the tissue pom poms.....i could make them all like step 2, and just store them like that till they all need 'ruffling' LOL

    Is that a bad thing?
yeah i think so because im hoping to maybe have the elephants slightly raised with those foam pad things, and im worried after a year it will lose abit of its 'stick'. my auntie made me a 3d crib out of card when my daughter was born, and after a few months nearly all the fabric flowers she had glued on had fallen off and the glue had turned yellow. Thats the only thing im worried about or else i would have had them all done by now LOL

nat, yeah i agree with the others, let them check the venue out first n see what they think. your bound to run into problems with weddings....if it all run smoothly id be worried that the actual day itself went wrong LOL we have trouble with guest list etc at the moment!
hope you manage to come to a solution xx

  • Hi All,

My mum has sent me the photos of The Great Dressmaking Mission that she took. As her computer and camera appear to not be talking to each other she had to resort to scanning them in in pairs!

What, real ones? They'd make an awesome archway thing to walk under, if you can get them to stand still for long enough..... :D

Great minds, re the giraffes, and lovely pics of your dress - I wish I could sew! Particularly like the one of the dummy drinking (vodka and orange perhaps?)

LOL! I couldn't resist either - I tried to for at least three seconds....

Thank you for your comments on the photos; as for the drink, Bridget (Mum's dressmaker's dummy - not sure why but it seems to suit her) had been working hard all day and requested one of my dad's concoctions, usually based on gin, and with anything else he can find in the cellar! :D
