Happy Birthday Nuttymummy:j
Your dress is looking wonderful Fiona, it must be exciting seeing it come along in stages.
I took up one of the many offers Vista Print have been bombarding me with & ordered a Tshirt for free, just had to pay the £3 postage:D I've done one of the bride ones with my name, if it looks good i'll get my bridesmaid one done & then we can both ware them on the girls night out in Lardos. Just got to wait the 21 days for it to arrive:( Will have to start playing with some invites to see if they have any I like, but I've fallen in love with some passport ones but there £2 each, but they do fit our theme getting married abroad:oMarried the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Hey ladies Thanks I love them they are cute aren't they? Obv the photo's are me and OH as babies haha! But yes we are leaning towards the white one think it looks more classic. The dark colour is actually a chocolate brown not sure if you can see that in the photo. Hoping chocolate brown suits my bridemaids although if it doesn't I'm not going to stomp my feet....much! Dress shopping again on 20th so hoping we can get a chocolate dress for them to try on.
Hey nutty happy birthday yum yum baking I'm keeping away from the baking at the moment as sticking in at my diet at the moment hoping to get another stone - stone and half off before buy my dress so need to work hard.
ooh fawny the tee shirts sound cute that is such a good idea, the passport invites sound lush where are they from any chance you can get them cheaper? How many do you need? What about using a local printer and getting a quote there if you take in a pic off google?

Of course you can jump into the thread and talk about yourself - that's what it's here for! Even if you haven't been on for ages don't feel that you have to catch up with absolutely everything else that everyone is doing before you can post your own updates.
So - how's planning going with you?
x
dress is looking lovely, nice shape!
and i saw those necklaces....both lovely! Pearls go with anything so they will be your best bet
ha ha i know but i know what its like to see people just barging in with updates on themselves and take no interest in others (not in this thread!) but on other forums, and it can get quite annoying!
ok seeing as youve asked..LOL
Ive got the stuff i had already done before:
Venue deposit paid
Photographer deposit paid
Make up and hair trial sorted
Bought:
Tissue paper for pom poms,
giraffe and elephant cufflinks
both pairs of wedding shoes
some glass kilner jars for dessert table/candy buffet
an elephant punch for invites
an animal chocolate mould to make some matching chocs
and some foam animal masks for the kiddies
LOL...so basically...most of the fun stuff ha ha
next month i should hopefully be able to book registrar and pay for notice etc and go back to the venue to properly discuss times and have another look round so we know where we can set stuff up etcHappy Birthday Nuttymummy:j
thanks very much!!
next time you go to vistaprint and order something...try adding some of the other 'free' items to your bag...most of the time the postage stays the same which means you can get more free stuff without having to pay extra postage....I got a free pen from there (not the usual ones) but one of the fancy silver ones and i got it personalised with our names, date of wedding and two hearts on it! would be great for the guest book etc (if your having one)joanneinwonderland wrote: »Hoping chocolate brown suits my bridemaids .

I've got my engagement ring *does happy dance* It's DF's great-grandma's; a plain gold band with an S bend and a round 1/2 carat diamond either side. It fits me almost perfectly, and looks totally beautiful.
And once I've found the lead that links the camera to the computer, then I'll upload a photo. It's so gorgeous I just keep looking at it.We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Yay emmylou! How lovely that you get a family heirloom too. Can't wait to see it.
Scotsbride, if you find any chocolate replacement patches can you please let me know?I'm also trying to get a bit fitter with gardening, and I also meant to start the 30 day shred on Monday, but that hasn't happened *shamefaced* I WILL do it today, I WILL...
We've been trying to sort out our Humanist celebrant this week - I found three celebrants who do weddings (not all celebrants do all kinds of ceremonies - some just do funerals, for example). We wanted someone who is local-ish (don't want to pay for travel!), and who does baby namings as well as weddings, so that when we hopefully have children we can have the same celebrant doing the naming ceremony as married us. One wasn't available, and I've spoken to one of the two who are - she's lovely, and was really easy to chat to. She also sent us scripts (with the names changed) to give us an idea of how the ceremony could go, and how different they can be, as neither H2B or I have been to a Humanist wedding before. I'll call the other one tonight - she's also been very helpful and has sent us some info, but - and this will sound silly - her photo on the website makes her look really strict and severe!! She's probably just as lovely as the other one though, and as I have enquired and she has sent info I want to call her cos it feels a bit mean to just drop it. I'll let you knowwhen we've chosen!
Good grief I have waffled. Again. How is everybody else doing?

yay! cant wait to see your ring!
as for our wedding rings i think im just going to get one from argos...chavvy i know! LOL but in my line of work you cant wear rings, bracelets, watches etc and would be totally pointless getting an expensive one when im not going to wear it! so OH is going to get a nicer one as he can wear his.
Fiona...i know what you mean! though you go with whatever you are happiest withyou need to be comfortable on the day
as for me, im hoping to sort out another visit to the venue next month, ive tried to put my !!!! in gear for wedding dress shopping (which i havent started yet!) that and the ring shopping.....pretty much everything else cant be sorted till ive been back to the venue. I really want to just get everything sorted but you cant when things need doing next year! Candy for dessert table etc (sell by date)
invites (glue may dry up and stuff drop off!)
coach (dont know how many people are going!)
favours (edible so again same reason as dessert table)
tissue pom poms (no where to store and they will flatten)
one thing i have done though is book the hotel! LOL 2 nights at the hilton £178...eeeek! wanted to pay with clubcard vouchers but they said they dont know if they will be taking them next year and i have to ring up early next year. but if i did that they could be totally booked?! so to be on the safe side, i paid cash instead LOL:dance:

Morning All,
Emmylou the ring sounds beautiful, how lovely to have something handed down - very special.
The Humanists sound positive Fiona hope you get it all sorted, it certainly sounds a very personal way to do the ceremony. We are planning on doing our own vows to personalise it a bit more, so i'm sure that will be very nerve racking come the day. I'm hoping I maybe able to remember them, but may have to have a little card with them on.
Nuttymummy lets hope you can use your Tesco vouchers, but it will be lovely all the same.
I'm having the day off work tomorrow & we are going to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham to get our rings:j So I will hopefully post pics over the weekend of it. I'm not having one special made so they should be able to size it while we have a coffee or something as I don't want to have to be going back another day for it. Right better do some work:eek:Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Tracey, I've had a thought about your pom poms - can you not make them to the point where they're ready to be unfolded, but store them in their folded state? Then you can get them done before things get too hectic but they won't flatten by being stored opened up?
