If I don't like the cards once i've played with them my plan is to use them for birthdays/thank you's for the next 10 years....

Still awaiting the giraffes... should probably get some hay in or something...

    oh god, the guestlist.....

Currently our ceremony/dinner guestlist is 65 people, about 35 of which are groom's side.
Unfortunately, the additional party guestlist is 170 people, of which less than 30 are groom's side. Oh no!

(Having said this, i fully expect that only half of my people will come, many are overseas and many are hypothetical 'plus one's)

This is not because i filled up all the numbers, it's just that my family is huge and i have a lot of very scattered friendship groups.
my H2B is very quiet with a few very very good friends and he's already invited everyone he wants to be there.

I still feel really bad, scanning down the list!
    Life on a shoestring!
  • Afternoon all! Well sounds like an invitation frenzy has started out! Ours are at a standstill I have purchased colour ink and currently waiting to get a few sheets of photo paper of my mum to do a test of printing out the photo's here. The shape we want isn't printing off right at Asda etc. so think we'll need to do it all here. Not idea but got to be done I guess!

First week at new job done. It's BRILLIANT just so happy so glad made the move now stress is all over and they were so excited to hear about my wedding so even better seems like there won't be an issue with holidays etc.

No wedding stuff this weekend bar the not spending money :money: and being good on diet but I'm away to go and pamper my nails and relax as been a busy old week.:T

(im on my mobile so it maybe a bit messy!) well i made a mess up with my wages this month! I always transfer some across to the wedding isa at the same time as paying the other bills but instead of leaving a bit out to pay videographers deposit i put it all in the isa and cant get it back out else ill lose it at the end! and no,before the hater trolls start,i did not do it subconsiously cos i was feeling guilty about it!Ive even come on hol without posting the confirmation off but at least he said i can split the payment into two so i can pay some now an some next month phew!
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

WELCOME MARGATE HONEY :T lovely to have another September 2012 bride on board. Love the sound of your colour scheme Ivory and gold will be lovely plenty of ways to fit that in. I'm thinking chocolate brown and orangey colours but not going to be too strict. It's brill when it comes together in your head!

    Happy Sunday all xxx

    Afternoon Folks,

Hope we are all ok? Welcome to MARGATE HONEY too.

You lot have inspired me I think, as i'm seriously considering making my invites, I thought that I could get loads of post cards of St Paul's Bay when we are in Lindos this September & then stick them to the front of some nice cards & take it from there, thats as far as I got:o

Talking of invites I really can't decide when to send them out. We have sent STD so people had plenty of advanced notice to save up if they want to come to Greece with us & some people have already booked their holidays to join us so thats great & some people have already said it not possible so we know where we are with these people. It's the others who have not said anything yet or said they might come, so we are really struggling to work out possible numbers & costs. When we meet with the wedding planner in the winter we really need to have our numbers sorted as we are going to be booking a boat crusie for after the wedding & there are only a limited number of boats & they take different numbers of people, so if we don't know the numbers we might book a boat too small, or if we book a big one they might be only a few of us. We don't want to end up with a massive boat half empty or be in a situation where we have to say to some people you can't come on the boat:eek:

So do you think it's too early to say send the invites in October & ask for RSVP's by Nov this year? Is it unfair to ask people to commit at this stage? It's just like I say if they are coming then they need to book the holiday so it's different to doing it over here, what do you think?

    Thanks folks:D
Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

welcome to the new bride to be!! colour sounds lovely :) and your cake is cheap! good MSE-ing :)

im not sure what you all mean with the ISA...I have an E-Ia and can take money out when i want (obviously you cant put money back in its place unless its going to be under the limit for the year) but not sure what you mean about 'losing it'?? im no good with banking n stuff like that LOL

fawny no i dont think its unfair to ask people....after all your wedding requires LOTS of planning as its abroad, id just mention in the invites that you need to know as you are booking a boat etc....they will understand xx

we were talking wedding stuff with my mum n dad last night. they have said they have £1500 put away for us.....which i dont want. I want to be able to save for it all myself (and i think we will be able to do it)

I approached the subject of MAYBE the groomsmen wearing converse LOL, its just that i want everyone to be relaxed, and most of the people wearing converse can then dress down a little (they can just wear waistcoats instead of jackets, or they can wear jackets but dont have to wear waistcoats etc. trouble is the groom doesnt know if he will suit converse...and the rest of the groomsmen are 61 and 40 odd....which you would NEVER see them wearing ANYTHING like them, and two 30 year olds who you also wouldnt see wearing anything like it LOL

no do i say yes lets go with converse and have a few people buy converse which they will never wear again but dont have to buy jackets etc,
or have to buy full suits and be a little uncomfy (my dad HATES shirts n ties...he has a thing about not wanting stuff too close to his neck LOL)

    i just LOVE this:
