Hello to all the new brides!
Katyann- I bet your regency wedding will be beautiful! I saw an article in a Bridal magazine a little while ago with lots and lots of ideas to incorporate lace into your wedding, it looked fab!
Lioness131- What's the inspiration behind your screen name? I LOVE LIONS... hence the wedding at Chester zoo. My house is completely full of lion things, recently I bit the bullet and decided I just had too many lions so gave lots to charity... I counted all of the stuffed lions i'd been given over the years and i had 122!!! Managed to cut it down to 30 and they now fit quite comfortably on a little shelf... and there are plenty of charity shops with lion displays in Leek now!

Hi ladies! Blimey, a whole plethora of new Sep2012 Brides!! Welcome all :hello:
Ooh, finally I have a wedding twin in Katyann! Gorgeous theme, and empire line dresses can be very very flattering! Perhaps you could name tables after Jane Austen books or characters? I know what you mean about having a slightly worried H2B with a historical theme - mine's slightly 30s, but again not sticking rigidly to it, I just love art deco and 1930s fashions and my dress is that kind of style. It's partly his fault cos he mentioned wanting to wear a top hat!!But I think he's a bit concerned it might turn into a bit of a costume party - it really won't though!!
Looking forward to hearing everyone's plans!
daniellac, you mention leaving everything a little late - you've got ages and ages, or are you actually getting married on 21st September this year?
thewinelady - you've got lots more stuff organised than I have - haven't started with food or photographer yet!!

lioness131 welcome!!!

Katyann absolutely love your theme! Sounds gorgeous!
Well, finally sorted out our venue!!!!!! Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh. And its not a golf club! I think people were beginning to think I was obsessed with golf clubs! But we just wanted somewhere that was reasonably priced and nice inside, with a bit of outside space. We took my mum and dad to the Manor Golf Club on Saturday and on the way passed i saw a place called Thornfield House, only saw the sign which also said they have a function room. I was mortified because after all the searching i been doing for a venue, never came accross it! So thought id give it a look on net when i got home.
Couldnt find a website for the place , so we popped up on Monday night to have a nosy, but it was closed, the gardener was titivating the garden so had a word with him. He said that the Masons own the building but a company had taken over the upkeep and management of the place but hadnt been using it to its full potential, so the Masons have just taken it back and are just in the process of decorating it all inside.
I rang them on Tuesday and the guy (one of the masons) said that it was him and his wife who have just taken it over as a business to run it properly and utilise it as a wedding venue, we met them on Tues night. We loved it! I actually cried! LOL :rotfl:Its a lovely victorian house with a hall they will be using for the disco and where the food will be eaten with all the tables set out, another smaller room which we can use also for people to sit in to get out of the noise and chat (!), a bar room and a lovely garden, we will have exclusivity all day and night for all rooms for the pricely sum of...£120!
I am so excited, its just perfect and was just what i was searching for, the guy is a caterer by trade and they will do anything at all you want, so i can have what i really wanted in the first place, a bucks fizz/wine and an Afternoon Tea reception, and pie and peas for supper! It is soooo reasonable for the food aswell, I was expecting it to be extortionate.:D:D
To say they only got the paperwork for their business on Tuesday, they already have 9 wedding receptions booked. Wish there were more places like that available for brides.0 -
And sorry, for the massive post! Just sooooo excited about it, it ticks all the boxes, and after having such a horrible time/upset with dad, its great to actually be looking forward to my wedding again : )0

Thanks Fiona! Im just sorry to have gone on about the miserable stuff previously! But its all good now, its what me and OH want and were really excited now! I was really shocked and very pleasantly surprised with that price too.
We have even chosen the colour now, which I was struggling with, had no idea, but with the Afternoon Tea theme, i really like Dusky Pink. Thought OH wouldnt like it but he does! Ha, I suggested a grey suit would look nice with that colour and agreed! Hes also decided what he wants to wear now, a grey morning suit without the top hat! Also more or less decided we would like to go to Italy for our honeymoon.....so happy it is all coming together now. : )0 -
Nothing too exciting ladies, but a picture all the same!!! Seen these shoes from Next, like the height of the heel, and like court shoe style, and at £30, bargain! Thinking of just buying them incase i dont see anything else i like closer to the wedding....
