fiona...im the same. My auntie had some tall cards and it going to have a play with my idea/colour scheme so i have a quick reference on how it will look before i buy everything! get making a mess woman!! LOL

    Yes Tracey! *scurries off*

saintly..with u on the dress shopping too. I have no motivation..yet all the people around me are shocked i havent started looking. they said you need to give yourselves 18 months to find one LOL a bride has just booked her wedding cake with me...for 2013! and she already has her dress too! LOL

There is no way that you need 18 months to find your wedding dress! My SIL2B has organised her whole wedding in six months. Admittedly she was too late for some of the bridal shops to deal with her, but she didn't have any trouble finding a dress and getting it altered. Concentrate on other stuff for now, and start looking for a dress in a few months if you can't be a:p;):cool:ed to look now. Bags of time!

amy...have you decided if your going to have heels or not? maybe some small kitten heels?! you could always get bigger one for the ceremony and pictures and change into some flats for dancing the night away later on :) thats what ive done!

How about a smallish wedge heel? They're much comfier than normal heels.

well im in a pickle! Im hoping to sort flowers out (or at least make my mind up and get a rough price!)
so could do with your girls advice!

my colour scheme is deep purple, deep orange and green.
Bridesmaids will be wearing deep purple and wanted an orange bouquet for them something along the lines of these:
    5058139303_2d7c1091a1.jpg

which means either my bouquet will have to be similar (but larger version) or go for an all purple bouquet.

but i really have my heart set on a nice bright multi coloured bouquet (not this exact one...seen some much nicer but only link i could find to give you an idea!)

    bright-summer-multi-colored-bridal-bouquet-hot-pink-green-yellow-blue-orange.jpg?w=399

but this wont match my bridesmaids....and if i give my bridesmaids multi coloured too...my colour scheme has gone out of the window LOL

    what can i do!?

Hmmm... I reckon if you have orange bouquets for your bridesmaids and a multicoloured bouquet for you with orange in it that would be fine. Or orange and purple bouquets for the bridesmaids and multi coloured including orange and purple for you? They don't have to match, rather they need to complement each other. As you have quite a multicoloured theme anyway I reckon it'll all tie in really well. I'm also thinking of bouquets, and want some combination of purple, orange and cream across mine and MoH's bouquets. Currently thinking of orange and cream for her (her dress is purple) and purple and cream, with maybe a hint of orange for me. I'm also pretty much decided that I want orchids and sweet peas - grown by myself and parents, of course! :money:

i bought the favour boxes but didnt like them as they were too plain, i have glued on 1700 x 1mm crystals but they are all done now! http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g47/miss_saints/CIMG0803.jpg

    stef xx

Love those! They really don't need much done to them, I agree with Tracey - just the word 'wedding', 'invitation' or 'wedding invitation'! Have a play around and see which you like best. Don't forget to show us the results! ;)

  • I posted a while ago about getting people to state what skills they have that might be useful to others on this thread, so that I could list them in the first post. I started the list, but I think that quite a few people were busy with other stuff at the time as the thread was quite quiet, and the post sort of got buried!

So, if anyone has specific skills that they would be willing to be PM'd about please let me know and I'll add them to the list on the first post. Obviously that doesn't mean that such queries can't be posted on the thread as well, but sometimes it's useful to go straight to the person most likely to have the answer!

Post a reply or PM me and I'll add your details - check out the first post for what's already there. BTW, if something you're good at is already listed with someone else, please still let me know - many hands, light work, etc!

awww thanks chick, im not very crafty at all but thought id give it a go.

the card for the invitations from ebay £15.95 for 100 A6 hammered card with envelopes.
ribbon was 29p per metre and i have 10 metres of it from the local market.
the hearts from ebay £4 for 100,
    The crystals £9 for 3000

Favour boxes - 100 for £7 ( i have aleady bought chocolate draggees (heart shaped smarties basically) from ebay to fill these £14.50 for 400 and only need 5 per box) and used the crystals from the invites to decorate them.

The RSVP card - 80 plus envelopes for £3 (i work at QVC and these were in the staff shop)

the card for inside the invites - £10.00 for 200 sheets from ebay, again A6 hammered card

Evening invites use the same card as the inserts, ribbon from ebay was 2.19 for 10 metres and the stick on pearls were £4 for 80 from my local craft shop

i just printed them all from our own printer using a font i downloaded for free, the OH works 3 evenings a week from 4pm till midnight so when im bored i stick on the crystals and i have flown through them without realising, although there are thousands of crystals everywhere, even found one in my food the other day

the worst part is trying to get the ribbon in the middle and the bows to be the same width either side, i have a ruler permanently in my hand and a pencil behind my ear!

if you need any of the sellers from ebay let me know
