so i went dress looking(as opposed to shopping!) to be told that they go shopping for their dresses in september but it takes til january to get them n the stores so if i wanted to try any on have to wait aargh! she also said that i could have the dress at the price i was quoted in april but that the prices are going up now and id got til end of this month at that price aaargh i dont know what to do!
im so fussy that in all the shops ive been to so far ive only had two out of the whole range that id liked but only one out of the whole lot that ive loved
so now i dont know whether to wait til january to see if theres a new one or get this one at this years price :/
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

    id buy it...definitely!!!

theres nothing wrong with getting the one you love, and if you see one next year (which you never know if you will or not) get that one too and sell the first one...if not youve always got that one to fall back on if you dont see any x

    Hi girls (and boys :D)

OMG! I havent been on here in ages! Tut tut! I have loads to catch up on, will have to trawl through to when I was last here.

Been so busy with other things that the wedding plans have taken a back step. Went to a christening on Saturday and our friend was there who is getting married just a month before us and she had brought all her save the date cards for everyone...Aaarrrgh! Not even though about it! She knows what colour scheme she is going for, she has ordered her cake, booked the church and her venue, had qoutes from photographers... Im so behind! Anyone else feeling like this?!!!

As i've said before, we have booked the church :D, we have provisionally booked a venue in case we dont see/like anywhere else, so thats OK for now! There just seems to be a lot do, and people are telling me I should be looking for dresses and booking the venue for definate. There are still a couple of places we want to look at first, so best get on with that. I think that ive been so relaxed about it all, that I just havent bothered to do anything!!! :rotfl:Im just thinking that now, if I thought about it too much, i could get quite overwhelmed with all the things to do. Im going to have to get my spreadsheets out and work through everything a step at a time, or a nervous breakdown will come along i reckon!

Thanks for the welcome back Tracey :)

You have done loads more than me! There really doesnt seem like a lot of time. And every day life gets in the way!!! You would think that 14 months is loads of time, but it feels like only a few weeks ago it was 18 months away!!! LOL

Well, feel i had a kick up the bum on Sat after seeing/hearing what our friend has done, and decided so far. And another girl there who only got married 3 weeks ago, said that the 12 months leading to it will fly  EEEEKKKK. And she suggested to def get venue booked and look for dresses now. She was also right in saying that lots of the good venues will be booked up already for 12-18 months down the line. I remember looking a couple of years ogo when we first got engaged and a venue we looked at was booked up for 2 years! WOW.

Oh, and i have started to try and lose weight! Would like to lose 1 and 1/2 stone by the time we get married. Started couple week ago and lost 4 lbs so happy so far. : ) Started playing badminton and netball to help lose the poundage too : )

awww congrats on the weight loss! i really need to lose some weight! hoping to get back to at least under 9 stone, so have about 7lb to lose. i used to love badminton! I used to go to street dance too but my business has got in the way of anytime i have spare LOL

yeah deffo get your venue sorted at least! im going to have to start dress shopping soon, and im hoping to get my teeth sorted. I had a root canal on one of my front teeth and its left it discoloured....looks bloody awful! and im sick of having abcesses etc since the dentists have been prodding around in my mouth, so just want them to pull the whole damn lot out n give me plastic ones! (at the age of 23...) PMSL

lots of people have tole me it will fly too.....so we really need to step up a gear LOL

Thanks! I do feel better already, nice not to be bloated, my stomach seems to have shrunk :D. I think ill be at half a stone mark by Friday (its my weigh day!) So if i am, will be well chuffed! Really enjoy badminton too, and just got into netball only been to 4 sessions so far, but love it.

You need to put your cake prices up, and take some time out :) its no good for you.

Awwww, shame about your tooth. Surely they would have to sort it out for you free of charge if they have caused the damage? The swines! At least once you have a couple of fakey ones in, you wont have to worry about them again lol!

Oh yes, def need to get the reception/evening venue sorted. Im going to make time with OH to go have a look at a few more places, and give ourselves a dead line to book it!

    Hiya,

Yes I think time will fly once it gets to the year mark for us all:j
I'm half way there with my dress as i'm having one made, so i've met the dress maker & worked out a design & price but she won't start making it until Feb next year(I want it now:rotfl:)

If I was marrying in this country I'd definatly be booking the venue as they do seem to get booked up quick. I just keep wishing time away which I know you shouldn't, but I want it to be next year so I can send the proper invites out, already done save the dates so people can book the holiday. Just want to get on & meet with the weding planner so we can finalise things but thats not until the winter - sometimes I feel like there nothing I can do - ok moan over:o
Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

    Hi Fawny,

Glad your dress plans are coming together.

Right, im feeling focussed now. The next 3 top things im doing is: -

    Confirming the guest list
Doing the save the date cards
Looking and booking the venue within the next month

scotsbride....its buying the copyright off the photographer....so you can then do with them as you please (put them on facebook etc)...if you dont have the copyright they are still the photographers and you can get done for using them etc.
also....the albums, i went to a photography fare....and MY GOD those albums are expensive!! some are £600 before youve even put any pics in LOL

I was like you.....and with my cakes too....i used to think how on earth can they possibly charge that much when i can make it for X amount.....but until you try you dont know. Im working my !!! off, spending more time away from my kids than with them (and i work at home!) totally drained and stressed upto the eyeballs and im not even earning minimum wage! i have to start putting my prices up just to get by without working every hour god sends....most photographers are £600-£800 and that seems to be the average. think yourself they arent £2000 like mine are!!! eeeeek! LOL it all depends on what you want....i suppose you pay for what you get in alot of places....but when it comes to cakes....ive seen people charge sky high prices, and i could have iced it better with my eyes closed! LOL

I understand the idea about copyrights so people don't steal there work. What I object to with some photographers the Copyright is on top of their package price surely it should be inclusive. I understand your point about minuim wage! Doing peoples gardens some people think that £8 pph in expersive after taking to qualified experts! They've said I'm too cheap and to properly cover my overheads which includes public liability insurance running a van etc I should be charging £15 pph. I've seen simplar things with gardening to you with cakes particularly with plants planted half out of the ground or one that like full sun in full shade! I think to a certain extent you get what you pay for however there are sharks about willing to rip you off which is why i'm going by recommendations and the village where I live has set up a thing which gives you a list of vetted people who have had their references checked.
