Don't do horrors either, I get too scared & end up having frightening dreams for weeks.

Had friends over on Sat & told them all about the wedding, my friend has also agreed to be my bridesmaid & was really honored, so really pleased about that:j I may have two but the other one is trying for a baby so depends what happens there, as won't come abroad if pregent or has a young baby, fair enough so at least I know i've got one. Got all excited looking at dresses on the web, might have to go to a shop at the weekend & see if they have any Maggie destination dresses & what they cost:eek:

Wisj it was this year we were getting married, Sept 2012 seems so far away:(

I know what you mean about wishing our weddings were this year - I lurk on the April 2011 thread now and again (about four of them are getting married on my 30th birthday, I have no better reason that that! :o), and they are very excited that they can now say that they are getting married next month! Jealous much??? Although I've got so much to do before we get to that point I should be grateful we've got ages to go!

    Hi!!

With regards to the films.....i like a bit of all sorts - BUT NOT HORROR! hahaha. I must admit that one of my favourite films is Bridget Jones! (Please dont all laugh at once!) A film I could watch over again. I absolutley love Disney Films - Favourite is Beauty and The Beast! Im a big kid at Heart. Love Harry Potters too! I also like old films, cosy Sunday afternoon films. Goonies and Labyrinth are amongst my absolute fav's too, so remind me of my childhood. And me and sis used to watch back to the future all the time too.

I used to watch Rom Coms but they are all just the same, and really predictable. Just like romance books too. Cant bring myself to read them anymore.

Loved Downton Abbey too! And the Upstairs Downstairs one too. We are watching the Boardwalk Empire on Sky Atlantic at the moment and are loving it. I just love looking at all the old clothes and buildings and things too as well as the story line.

i love disneys too!! hence some of our song choices! my fav is also beauty and the beast! i always forget how good the others were too...like the little mermaid!

wow thats cheap!! thanks for the link....do you know if they do a boxset for all 3 films too?

    oooooo maggie destination dresses.....YUMMY!
ive been thinking i know how i want my dress to be...certain sized skirt...not too puffy, something with straps......but i have a really odd feeling that when i got to try dresses on, they are all going to feel to 'puffy' and i end up with more of a 'destinations' dress instead!...though you have more chance of seeing my ed hardys under those LOL

i know what u mean by saying it feels so far away....it seems ages to THIS September, nevermind the one next year!! though im still glad it is next year....gives me a lot more time to save up and bargain hunt :) LOL

    Hey Ladies
Been a bit quiet recently just come back from hols and the sunshine just made me want my Wedding NOW!!
I think its really lovely about people's choice of songs etc, Im just gonna wing it If we feel like it we will, however I do feel like shaming my OH he used to sing Enrique Hero to me when he was extremely drunk back in the day, so maybe a bit of humiliation will be in order!!
I know what you feel about the wedding plans, however I am just gonna relax and enjoy the planning as much as I can
Films - Um a good comedy for me the hangover my favourite film, going to Vegas next month and hope to relive some scenes ;)
Going with some girlfriends and going to try and find a tacky bridesmaid store and wind them up (Cruel I know)

    xx

    Morning ladies,

    Hope we are all well.

Do you think it's too early to go try dresses on? As i'm marrying abroad I need a destination dress & finding it hard to find stockists. I rung 10 shops on Sat that according to the Maggie & Dessy Sandels website stocked their destination dresses but they all said they don't:( One shop I spoke to said they had a few styles in that may be suitable but when I said it was Sept 2012 I was getting married they said I should not start looking & trying until this Sept. Bearing in mind when I have found a shop that have any at all they only seem to carry 2 or 3 so I feel it may take a while to find my prefect dress. Is it too early:idea:

    Hi Ladies!

I haven't been on here for a little while as things are getting a little busy in other parts of my life! We have now paid our deposit for the day venue so that is sorted. Just need to confirm a couple of things with the evening venue, then I will feel safe in booking other things. The lady who made my engagement ring is also making my wedding ring, and I went to try on a mock-up last week - wasn't quite what I had in mind unfortunately (I'm VERY fussy :o) as I want quite an unusual design to fit round my asymmetric engagement ring without it looking like half a ring, IYSWIM!
My To Do list currently looks like this:
    - confirm evening venue once our requirements have been discussed with hire suppliers (delegated to h2b)
    - decide whether legal ceremony will occur on same day or day before (we're having a Humanist ceremony), and get registrar to pencil us in to reserve the date
    - find a Humanist celebrant
    - find a photographer
    - start work on my dress
That's enough to be getting on with; everything else can wait till the summer!

How is everyone else getting on? Fawny, I have read your other thread on dress shopping - good luck with the hunt! I don't reckon it's ever too early, and at least you can try loads on without any time pressures to find 'The One', just with the aim of finding which basic style suits you best. Have a great time! I'm kind of jealous that I'm not getting the chance to do that actually as I love clothes shopping and had always looked forward to trying on wedding dresses, although I'm very happy with the way I'm doing it!
