September 2012 Brides and Grooms

Hi All,
Please can I join this topic, as i'm now a September 2012 bride:j
My OH has finally decided it's time to make an honest woman of me & we have decided that we are going to get married at St Paul's Bay in Lindos Rhodes. We are working with a local wedding planning company out there & yesterday they confirmed that our wedding is booked for 10th September 2012:D I'm so excited. We have worked out what we can afford & hopefully we can pay for everything that I want.
Is it too early to start trying on wedding dresses:rotfl:No idea of the type of dress as it will be very hot, so thinking not a traditional dress but I want to look like a bride. I want my OH to have some sort of white/cream suit with a waistecoat rather than jacket I think, mybe linen but it does crease so much is the suitcase:think:
Anyway love reading what every one is doing, roll on Sept 2012.
Hi fawny, congratulations and welcome to the thread! :j
You're getting married at the same place as another bride-to-be on the forum - her username is twirlypinky and she's getting married this summer I think.
Never too early to start looking for dresses!! The Maggie ones bubbles linked to are gorgeous, and Monsoon do beautiful dresses that suit hot weather weddings as well. A pale trousers and waistcoat outfit would be perfect for your H2B, and linen would be lovely and cool - the last thing you want is a sweaty groom in a polyester suit - uuurrgh! He'll be able to press it at the hotel (or get the staff to do it) so don't worry about creasing.

But I'm adapting it a bit, it's going to be fitted down to just under my bum and then have a load of layers bunched up, a bit like this: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?page=21&style=A3135 and then it's going to have one strap of turquoise flowers going diagonally to the back of the opposite side. Lots of work, but it's going to be worth it.
Oops, I didn't quote the original question about the pattern, I think it was White_Sapphire that asked.
Yes, 'twas I...
What a stunning design, bet you can't wait to get started!

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I've had a chat with twirlypinky as I gave her some info about Rhodes. Thanks for the link Bubbles, some of those dresses are beautiful. Will have to have a good look but think the budget will only be about £300 max for the dress, but it certainly gives me ideas of what I could have.
You are right I definatly don't want a sweaty groom:eek:Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -

Hahaha, love your song choices!!!
Yes, a trainee vicar, a curate or something! lol. He was lovley, I dont mind which one really. But Dan would like the original one as he knew his Grandma very well. He is also very lovely! I think it helps when the person who is marrying you is easy to get along with and nice and humourous.0
