I also cannot find a dress:( ive scowered the web and looked in high street shops (i dont want a 'big deal' dress') if you know what i mean
I know what I want my children in, BHS purple flowers dresses and matching PB suit:) just havent got a clue for me, wish it was easy0 -
Hello Everyone,
Hope we are all enjoying the long weekend, far too much food & drink been consumed in this household, I think i'd better do some excersize later:o
Roz - The cocktail making sounds great fun, hope you don't get anymore dropping out. :jto booking the flights for you honeymoon, it all sounds amazing.
Fiona - How is the dress coming on? Great that you are getting extra work as the money is always good, it just gets in your way of doing wedding things I know:rotfl:
Scotsbride - Hope you feel better soon, had not realised you were unwell. Hope you have sorted out your +1 issues with the BM's & the hen do is sorted too. These hen do's seem to cause us as much stress as our weddings.
Nene - fab news on selling your other dress:jYour to do list looks great - you are very organised.
ghawdon - glad you are feeling happier now & great news on the cost of your venue:j I have to say "it's a knockout sounds great fun.
Yummymummy - exciting giving notice, makes it feel very really I bet:D What sort of dress do you have in mind? Do you want a proper wedding dress? I know Monsoon & Debenhans have some lovely ones.
I've designed our menu sheets to send out to people to get their choices, going to print them all off at work when no one is looking:D Spotted some nice yellow paper to print them on too, which I know we have had ages & not used so sure they won't notice 20 sheet disapearing:rotfl: The price includes a litre of wine between 4 people but my Dad has just said he want us to add more so it's one between 2 & he will pay the difference:D So when we ask for the menu choices we will also ask people their preference on wine colour. I think i'm going to write peoples menu choices on the inside of their place card as I know they will forget on the day! Bestman will have a list but if I write it on there should solve the problem.
Have a great dayMarried the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Thank for all the comments feeling much better a little tierd but other than that fine. just board!
Well done on the Menus Fawny!
OH has ordered his suit getting it made went with him the offer advise advised that navy, grey or black would go with most things and he could wear it again having desided on a fabric some 2 hours later he's now not sure whether he likes the colour and wants a green checked tweed suit for the wedding umm not quite what i had in mind! trying to think of a tactful way to say that green isn't going to work without sounding bridezilla!
having doubts over my shoes after OH said yesterday he can't stand peep toes! He's since gone very quiet and not back tracked but said judging by my silience that he takes it my wedding shoes are peeped toed!
also trying to pin him down about catering and decide on BMs hair arr decisions dcisions!:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120 -
Hi All,
Has anyone else hit the point where they want the wedding to be now!! I'm a bit fed up of planning now and just want it to be my wedding day- maybe I'm just too impatient :rotfl:
On another note.....One of my BMs has just found out she is expecting twins!!:j:j I'm so excited for her!! She'll be about 7 months by the time of the wedding so might have to rethink the dress- we were originally going to get a BHS dress to match the other BMs in a couple of sizes bigger and alter it to fit her bump, but have a feeling this may not be possible with a twin bump!
I am a little worried that she's feeling a bit apprehensive about being a bridesmaid- a couple of the comments shes made recently have made me wonder if shes considering stepping down. I'd LOVE her to be involved in my day, but would completely understand if she didn't feel comfortable- she had health issues during her first pregnancy and I think she may be worrying about them re-occuring.
Her and her babies health are far far more important to me and I'd rather she had a relaxed chilled time at the wedding and leading up to it.
I guess she'll know best about what she can cope with so I suppose all I can do it talk to her about it. I don't want it to come across like I'm suggesting I don't want her as BM though just because shes pregnant because that couldn't be further from the truth- she's been amazing so far in helping me with preparations. I just don't want her to feel like shes being pressured into doing it either

Maybe just ask how she's feeling about it then you can gauge it from there as for the bump. could she not get a dress in the same colour:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120

I would try and have a little chat with her and say what you have said on here.. That you want her to be involved but don't want her worrying and care very much for her and her twins health. A nice floaty dress would probably be lovely for her bump, I'm sure you'll find something.
Also, YESSSSSS I want my wedding to be now. I've had a few friends get married this year and I just want it to be our turn. Bought my fiance's wedding ring today so all we have left is a few finishing touches to outfits and the cake. I picked my dress up yesterday after its alterations, tried iron with my mum today and it's just beautiful, I feel like a princess in it and want my husband to be to see me in it!Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0 -
Just went to a colleague's wedding last night and now I completely want my wedding to be NOW!
ghawdon - maybe leave your options as open as possible? I mean, give her light 'bridesmaid duties' (if any) which can be easily taken over by someone else, let her know that you'd understand completely if she'd rather not be bridesmaid so she feels no extra pressure. Do things so that the final decision can be made as late as possible when she's more able to gauge how she feels about it?
Our invitations are on their way to us from the US! (a month later than hoped, but there's still lots of time!) We just have to compile them and write out allllllll the addresses! Calligraphy pens at the ready!
Mum and I sorted out the 'wedding room' (mum's spare room) a while back, we added up all the things we've bought so far. For a wedding breakfast for 70 guests, we have 70 bottles of wine! (this includes bubbly for the welcome drink and the toasts) not to mention the orange juice, Schloer, lemonade and coke!Life on a shoestring!0 -
must be the only one who's panicing so much to do and not enough time:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120
