How are you going to do your invites? Are you using pre-made pocketfold cards or are you going to make them yourself (or ask your friend to make them)?
I ordered 50 pocketfold cards (for day invites) and 100 gatefold cards (for evening) as well as matching stock card for the pocket inserts. My friend designed them and printed everything direct to the cards, but you can easily do this yourself by printing onto stock card and sticking this onto the pocketfold. Inserts are equally easy, print them onto stock, cut to size and slip in the pocket!

^^ These guys have great cheap(ish) cards and even better, they give you all the dimensions and loads of help in making your inserts to the right size and stuff. Even if you don't order from them, it's a brilliant site to nosy about for ideas and how-to's!
I've been rethinking my jacket-thing to go with the wedding dress!
Initially, I was going to ask the dress shop to make me a bolero jacket to go with it, but they've already said they probably don't have the exact fabric so will just have to go 'best fit' with what they can find.
Now recently, I've seen some of the jackets the shop makes, and I'm not convinced at all. They seem very stiff and... I dunno.. boxy? Too formal, too... sort of... 'I'm covering up because I don't like my arms'. (which is exactly what I'm doing, but I don't want it signposted so much!)
So instead, I thought maybe I'd look at some nice cardigan shrugs and things, something softer. My dress is simple strapless A-line in champagne, or pale gold. very little frills or sparkles!
I've narrowed it down to two possibilities, so far: One and Two.
What do you guys think? I'm wavering between "they're really pretty!" and "maybe a cardigan isn't 'special' enough..." any opinions?
Friends designing the inserts I'm doing the printing and putting together if that makes sence. thank s for the link. As for the jacket thing a cardigian nice besides it's something you will probably use again.:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120 -
Hi Ladies,
Sorry to come in & not read what's been happening but we are having a nightmare at the momentI had a phone call from our wedding planners in Rhodes yesterday to say that our reception venue had sent them an email to say we could not have our reception there as they had double booked us:mad: My planners were straight on to them as we booked it last Sept to ensure we had this place as it's wonderful & fitted everything we wanted. It turns out that this week another couple have gone into the restaurant & said they want there wedding there on our date & they have more guests than us so basically they have just bumped us out. I don't know if to be upset
or angry:mad: it's all happening at once. Our planners have tried their best but we have completly hit a brick wall with them & they refuse to accommadate our wedding usless we move it to another date, which won't be happening. So we are now venueless with less than 4 months to go. I had a long conversation with our planner last night & this morning & she is currently contacting alternative places for their availabilty so we can see where we can go, in all the 7 years & 700 weddings they ahve done they have never had a venue do this to them, they too are in shock & are livid to say the least! We will find somewhere & hopefully it will be somewhere even better that we had not considered & our planners will ensure we have an amazing day but it's just not what we need:mad:
Will keep you updated & catch up with all your posts soon I promise:oMarried the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
:grouphug: Oh no Fawny what a nightmare, sending hugs that it's all sorted soon - 4 months is a long time (I keep telling myself!) and it will be resolved one way or another and you'll have the best day ever. :grouphug:0

oh no fawny! surely you had a contract signed with them?I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

I am so sorry fawny! Think outside the box, you can have something you would never have thought of, it could be unique to you and so special. I hope that in October you will be saying 'Thank God they cancelled us!'0

Oh Fawny, I am sorry that this has happened to you! Just to turn the situation upside down somewhat; how much would you trust them now, knowing that this is what they think of their customers?
At least you have your planners working hard for you, and with plenty of time still to find an equally stunning venue with staff who don't treat their customers like poo!
Good luck hun, please keep us updated.

Afternoon Ladies,
Just though i'd drop by & give you an update. Thank you all so much for your kind words & support this forum really is great:D
Bubbles - yes we did have a contract & they had signed one with our planners last Sept but unfortunatly they don't care about that & even more so because no money had changed hands as thats the way it works. Anyway onwards & upwards.
We now have a new reception venue:j We are actually going to have it at the place where we are going for our mini moon & it's such an amazing places. We did consider it breifly orginally but decide we would rather go back to Pefkos & this place is in Lindos & also they do really fancy cooking & we though that not a lot of our guests would like it. However our planner checked with them if they had availability before she phoned us with options & he does & he said to her that if we were not happy with the menu to let him know what we wanted & they would do it no problem:j:j So we have booked it & are currently waiting for him to come back with the prices, we know it's going to be more expensive(other reason why we didn't pick it before) but he has said he will do us a good deal as we are staying there & to be honest we don't care it's more expensive as we know it's amazing & will be a lot better. We will be having drinks in the garden before moving into the outside restaurant for the meal & then afterwards we can sit in the gardens again, so people can wander about & it will be great. Debbie it's exactly what you said now we are sorted we are so pleased this has happened & our guests are really in for a treat. I really can't thank our planner enough for pulling this back together for us. Things do happen for a reason but I tell you the stress I when through on Tues & Wed was terrible.
Hoping these photos work if not will have to do it from home.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Fantastic, Fawny, I am so pleased for you, and the place looks out of this world! Just a thought, do you have wedding insurance, and if so, will the extra cost be covered by them?
