I'm back, :D After being very slack. lol.

    Nat, that's a gorgeous dress :D I bet you'll look lovely in it :)

Sapphire, I can present you with a boot up the bum if you like? :rotfl: How is the dress coming along? Much left to do? And why aren't you palming the hen night off on friends to organise? ;) That would be one less worry for you :)

I've just sold my dress :D After buying it back in feb last year and loosing too much weight that it doesn't fit right any more. So I bought my new dress (the one you've all seen) and after 12 months of trying to sell it on eBay I finally did for £150 so that's my cake tins, hair and makeup sorted out :D If anyone wants a nose at the old dress it's here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330725650538?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1562.l2649

Getting OH's suit next weekend when we go to London to go see SCOOTER :D:D:D:D LIVE :D:D:D I'm soooo excited :D That will leave:

Just booked our honeymoon flights :D:D:D:D:D

We're going to Reykjavik on the Monday after the wedding, flying home the following Saturday, so 5 nights/4 full days. Cost £183 each for the return flights, and hotel is looking around the £450 mark so not too expensive really - no more than we'd usually spend on a week's holiday, which means we should still be able to afford a big holiday next summer (possibly Australia as our friends out there get married in Aug 2013).

Is it wrong I'm more excited about the holidays than the wedding? Not that I'm not looking forward to the wedding, just that I'm more looking forward to sitting in the Blue Lagoon covered in mud and doing NOTHING for a week! :rotfl:

White Sapphire -:eek: Time is really flying by, it's exciting but scary! Your list looks long but you know to tackle it one thing at a time... As for the sweet peas, mine look a bit bedraggled too but hoping a bit of sunshine will perk them up. As Nene said, can't you ask MoH to sort the hen do?

Scotsbride - I didn't realise you were off sick at the min. Hope you're better soon.

Nene - that was a lovely dress, great news that it's sold and you can fund some other bits! I really need to get mine on Ebay, along with a pair of shoes which I bought and changed my mind about... Your To Do list looks very manageable :D

    Yes please! :o

Haven't done anything on it since last week, as I can only work on it at my parents' house, and they live an hour away. I was going to go over tomorrow, but I have to work, so will get myself there next week for some intensive sewing!

I will be, to an extent, but still want to get the date sorted, and give my MoH some pointers on what I want to do. The hen do will be in Bristol, where I live, but she doesn't know the city well, so I would feel a bit mean not helping her at all! All I will do really is research possible activities, restaurants etc, and email them to her with transport info so she doesn't have to spend ages finding out stuff that I could just tell her!

I'll have to go back and remind myself which your decided upon dress is, but congrats on selling your other one, and on losing weight! :T

    Hi everyone!

Feeling much happier now! Had a lovely night with the Brownies last night- the kids had me running round like a loon joining in all their games! Can't remember the last time I had so much fun!

Nice quiet night in tonight as OH is out and have been baking cakes for work tomorrow.

Going to have a nice relaxing bank holiday weekend away from wedding stuff and meeting my sister in Cardiff. This is the first bank holiday weekend since I started my current job that I have off (usually i'm working at least part of it) so i'm really looking forward to having 3 days off!

Spoke to bm regarding hen party and I get the feeling that her/others are having issues with costs and would rather not go for a spa day, hence all the confusion. We're doing Its a Knockout on the Saturday which I am sooooo excited about and I don't really feel the need to plan any other specific activities for the rest of the weekend so as not to put pressure on people money-wise. I'm happy enough sitting at home having a good girly gossip and a cup of tea!

Off to bed now before I eat all of these cakes- not good for the wedding diet or fundraising tomorrow!

ghawdon, thats fab news about your hen do. Its a knock sounds great! Where is this?! I wanted to go to London to watch a musical with the girls for hen do and then for cocktails, but think it could be really expensive...OH has just told me that Dirty Dancing is on in Leeds!!! That would be great, very girly! And close too. I think id like to go to BIBI's in Leeds too before hand (or after depending on time of show) for a meal and some cocktails! I love BIBI's, its like stepping into the 1920s and I expect Poirot to rock up at any moment! Love it.

Do you know, sometimes, I really feel like i wish i could just relax and have fun like a kid sometimes! I bet the Brownies have you doing all sorts! :D I think we should have had pics of the cakes you made! hehe.

Sounds like youre having a nice, wedding free, long weekend break. Enjoy ;)

Just a little update on dress, took my mum and step mum to try on the dress i loved, and they loved it too :T Im sooooo happy now and cant wait to wear it for real. The lady at the shop is sooooo lovely. So glad im getting my dress from there. She is going to take it in at the sides a little, put a lace up back in, take up the hem, replace some of the tulle which has been damaged due to being a sample and tried on, add some swarovski crystals (sorry if spelt wrong!) to the dress as I wanted a little bit of subtle sparkle, not too much as i think it would spoil the vintageness (if thats a word) but just enough to give it a twinkle in the light :D All of this she is doing for £100 which I think is fab.

So excited now! Got loads to do though.....eeeek

Want to take OH to see the car Ive seen that I like http://www.ivy-bridal.co.uk/black-ivory-beauford-wedding-car-hire.htm and get that booked this weekend, that will be one more thing off the list...only about a million more things to do!

It's a knockout is in Bristol... only about 30mins from my house! The company own all the original props from the tv show- not that I remember ever watching it on tv although my mum insists I did (think I was too young to remember lol).

Not strictly had a completely wedding free day- I did find myself some shoes in Cardiff! http://www.next.co.uk/g372262s9#837174g37.
Also bought my sister a replacement bridesmaid dress as we had to send her original one back because it had a mark on it (BHS don't to exchanges, only refunds). I bought if from BHS when they had a random online 24% off for 24 hour sale and got my 5% NHS discount on top. Went into BHS today and they had 20% off for the bank holiday weekend and I still got my NHS discount too- not quite the bargain I got originally but decided I can't keep putting it off much longer in hope of a better discount (bet they have a half price sale next week now).

In even better news, I got home to my estimated quote from the venue waiting for me and it has come to over £2k CHEAPER than what we were expecting!!!!! We overestimated on food/drink etc when we were first working through our budget just to be on the safe side and they'll be slight adjustments to food/drink costs anyway once we have final numbers etc. What we didn't realise is that we don't have to pay the hire charge for the venue- this was added to the wedding packages about a month after we booked (when we booked the venue was in the process of rebranding/building a new golf course/getting a famous golfer person to as their spokesperson etc) but they sent us out the new wedding pack which mentioned the hire costs, thus we assumed we had to pay it and we don't!!! I thought they'd accidentally forgotten it on the quote so I rang them to check- they thought I was a crazy person trying to pay them more money!

I'm soooo tired now after all the excitement of today, going to curl up in my PJs on the sofa now and take control of thee tv for the rest of the day!
