Hello all so sorry it's been so long life seems to be getting in the way
Getting VERY excited now hope everyone else is in the same boat! Time just seems to be going so quickly it's fab.
Recent success is hair trial was great the hair dresser seemed to look into my head as to how I wanted to look it was perfect. My mum cried so that says it all and I was just in my work clothes!!
Kilt has arrived and is lovely very pleased we bought it for the wedding it's so special. Invites are done and just awaiting a note if we decide to have red meat at the meal so people can choose veggie option if they prefer (not having any more choice than that!). Tasting is on Thursday so we'll decide then for final.
Had engagement photo shoot (bit late but glad we did it closer) it was good fun also VERY cold and windy but nice to meet with photographer and get to know him a bit.
Just want it to be here now been working on table plan today (first draft looks fine to me!) and just done a photo list to send to photographer...so we're all set I feel!! Now away to catch up with you all!!!
xxxxxWhat's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -
Hello all,
Loving everyone's invites, they all look so lovely you have all been working very hard:D
Fiona the dress is looking great:j
Nene - love the glasses with the flying sauces in, I used to love the when I was little.:D
Roz what a great buy on the suitcase, i've not though what we will do with ours. Guess the Best man will just have to collect them & look after them for us.
Joanne - hope your meal tasting goes well.
We have paid a deposit for our new reception venue & they have done us the menus to our choice & I've worked out that if everyone was to pick the most expensive meal - fish then it will only cost £200 more than where we were going before - thats the worse case senerio so we are still within budget. I did check our insurance & I think we probably could claim but does not seem worth it once we have paid the excess & as it's not going to break the bank we won't bother - not very mse I suppose:o
Going to the dressmakers on Sat again:j Can't wait to see how it's going - will get Mum to take photos again.
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend & hope i've not forgot to mention anyone.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Fiona your dress is coming on amazingly it will be so so special on the day having done the work yourself. Fabulous!!
Scotsbride love the bridesmaid dresses they are beautiful that's so kind of your mum too everything helps!!
Natc eek dress crisis but that second one is truly amazing and ANOTHER bargain :money: well done you feel better admitting something isn't right or you you wouldn't feel happy all day in it!!
Roz_V love the invites they are beautiful!!
ghawdon - sorry to hear about BM's etc. really hope they have bucked up ideas. I have been BM twice and will be a third time in July and all I think is how can I help my friend and make everything easier for her. As for numbers...I understand that you have to draw the line somewhere and that's not always easy and people don't always understand. I think you are being more than fair saying evening as I'm sure there are people above him on the list for a bump to daytime!
BUBBLES YOUR SHOES ARE SO LOVELY! So impressed at your customisation I love them!
Ooooh and lovely invite photos as well!! Fawny really glad you got sorted with something else eeeek stress you did not need!!
I love reading up on you all sounds like we're all in the same boat doing "faffy" things...that you think are fun...then are not!!
My next job is to decorate jars then fill with sweets...how long will I put that off do you think?! I can barely figure out how much we're going to need for the jars and the party bags at the moment...:o what a thought!! Got the ribbon etc. just need to buy and bag sweets...do NOT want to do that!!
xxxxxx
Just in general....why is it always other people that cause stress, arguments, worry and issues with the wedding me and OH are dandy just ourselves two!?!?!?!What's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -
Can I join in? I am getting married to my lovely fiance on the 1st of September and we are having a 1920s theme, his choice. I got my dress which is a reproduction dress from the US. My shrug is gorgeous and I have some black patent mary-jane shoes. Not sure what colour stockings to go for either black 10 deniers with lines going up the back of the leg, ivory or natural. My wedding venue is the local rugby club with my cousin doing the catering. We are hiring a roulette table complete with a croupier (sp) and a chocolate fountain. My friend's mum is a singer/musician and is providing music entertainment.0

I am really laid back and never considered things like table decos. We are on a tight budget so not sure what to have. I think other people like to try and take control x0 -
