Aaaaaah!! I've just realized that I have 6 free Saturdays and 8 free Sundays before the wedding!

My calendar is never this full- why have I chosen the most inconvenient time ever to get a social life!

I'm the same, it's ridiculous how few free days I have between now and the wedding  Fiona, I'm firmly in your camp of fingers in the ears and pretend it's not happening :rotfl:

Fawny, good luck with the dressmaker tomorrow :)

Nuttymummy, I'm a list freak too - it's the only way to be  I'm not sure everyone gets the *it's the one* feeling about their dress, and lets face it, it's gunna get trashed! Sounds like the shop you bought from were a bit out of order though :(

I had a bridezilla moment last night because OH's mum bought a cheap unflattering copy of the beautiful LK Bennett dress my mum chose for the wedding over a year ago  In the end OH & I managed to convince her to return it and get something else, but for a couple of hours I had visions of people thinking I'd chosen the mums as bridesmaids :rotfl:

Invitations are constructed, job for tonight/this weekend is to print the inserts & address the envelopes. After I've had a large glass of wine that is - why is it that a three day week has been harder work & felt longer than a usual 5 day week?!

you havent got a to-do list yet?! i have them pinned and written down all over. shows how much of a organized freak i am LOL
OOO dress wearing again :) always exciting!-can't wait to try mine on again!

Long story short with mine I got pushed into buying mine within 2 minutes of a wedding show - was told if i didnt get it now i wouldnt get it at all (bearing in mind this was last year!) so i bought it thinking if it was the 'one' and i didnt know it, i would be gutted if i missed out.
So it finally came in (i had only tried 4 dresses on at the time) i brought it home after not wanting to spend anymore money in the shop with how they treated me. Luckily i found a fab local one wiling to take me under their wing. Trouble is i tried it on again for alterations the other week. Its nice...but I dont LOVE it. It is supposed to be the most exciting part of the wedding process for a woman, and so far its the worst experience ive had! :(

other people like it - and ive bought it now so theres nothing really i can do x

    happy early finish! x
    that a shame

a wow thats absolutely fab! Tell me where to go if you like, id totally understand! But what does having a planner cost? is it one price or is it dependent on what they do?! I have absolutely no idea! It sounds amazing though!

aww sounds lovely! and when its being made to fit you you know its going to look fab!

    Hiya,

No it's ok - the wedding planner has cost us £700 which is really good we feel for what she does & to be honest we would not have been able to plan a wedding in Rhodes without her. She has dealt with the town hall & booked the wedding, she does all the planning & arranging of the reception, table decs, booking the chaple & arranging pretty much everything - well everything tbh. On the actual day one of her other coordinator will be with me from about 12 lunchtime & wedding is 4.15pm. The coordinator who is with me will be there to help me with everything i'm told, they sort the hairdress & then the photographer arrives. They have booked all the taxi to arrive when they tell them & then when we go to the chaple she comes too & the main lady will already be there & they stay with you but blend into the background etc. They will be with us in the background until we are seated for dinner at the reception just to make sure everything runs smoothly. Her husband also meets us 2 days later & takes us to the town hall to sign another bit of paper so all in all they do a lot.

Dress fitting was great, will post some pics later.

    Hi,

Here are a couple of pics from the dressmakers on Sat. No finish yet, where the thin strap is this will all be handmade flowers & it needs finishing off in various places yet. Sorry you can't see the detail very well my mum did not get close enought.

awww i love it! I wanted a dress like that! (i knew i was having a one shoulder) and didnt want anything too 'poofy' but alas...poofy was what I was pushed into buying LOL I might get a second dress to 'dance' in...is anyone else thinking of doing that!? x

its so simpl and elegant, and with the strap finished it will look amazing. my type of dress! (but the dress wouldnt like my figure ha ha)

  • Absolutely gutted! My reception venue called to say they had double booked us, so I had the nightmare of ringing about getting everything changed for the 15th. Thankfully everyone was sympathetic, though got to tell the guests :(

That's terrible! I hope they have knocked something off the price or given you something extra in compensation!

The room hire was cheap but they have promised to give us a good reception. I am more disappointed with not getting married on the 1st. Hopefully all will end well xx
