    Hi everyone,

not been on in a while, been so stressed. I was at the point of tears as have just graduated from college but no job yet and a list of stuff to do increasing with no funds to pay for it. I am marrying abroad so also need spending money etc. Got up over 1 week ago and went to check my bank to see how tights budgeted we wherein that week to discover tax credits had paid us money backdated of £2,000! I actually cried when I sawit, was such a relief. Well the money has now all been spent and back to a tight budget again but managed to buy my 3 kids their full kilt outfits, buy wedding rings, pay for OH best man to fly over to wedding, buy kids much needed summer clothes and OH too. Wedding cake decorations and pay the remaining balance of the wedding and holiday off! Still few things to pay for but so much less stressed about it!

    To do list now :

    Solicitor and affidavit
    Summer clothes
    Shoes for boys
    Restaurant deposit
    Buy cake
    Sons passport
    Spending money

Sorry for long post. Hope everyone's Planning is progressing nicely!

Bubbles, the invites look great :D I ended up using double sided tape too, seems to have done the job.

VPB that's great news about the tax credits! Your list looks very manageable now :)

I'm just waiting for the wedding breakfast venue to confirm something re. Timings and then I can send the evening invitations out. I emailed Them last Sunday and they never replied so I've resent it today. I'm off work tomorrow so ideally want to get them done then... We had our first RSVP from the daytime yesterday :j I only sent 6 invitations and I know everyone is coming, but it's still nice to get the responses!!

    Hi everyone,

Had my work hen do last night. There's 7 of us girls who work in our lab getting married this summer so we had one massive hen night. There were plenty of lab themed surprises thrown in! Feeling a little bit delicate today so going to relax on the sofa!

fawny and sapphire dresses are looking great!

    Love the invites bubbles!

alwaysonthego- welcome to the 15th club! I can also guarantee that the weather is going to be awesome then because I've told it it has to be :rotfl:
  • That's us passed the 12 week mark!! Exciting though!! We sent off our marriage notices this week...then got a reply saying erm we need the fee! Woops!! So cheque written and will post tomorrow.

Been marching on getting gifts etc. sorted out and all the little stuff that is on the list never getting done (that I had delegated....) but all sorted now.

Decorated my sweet jars with ribbon etc. yesterday or at least started and as usual ran out so ordered more and will get them finished off. The next 2 weekends are out for various reasons so good just to get something done as much as possible really so that I don't run out of time.

Fawny did you have a good hen weekend? The dress is looking lovely can't wait to see the flowers on the strap!!

Bubbles your invites are beautiful I got really emotional enveloping mine up thinking that the next time the invite is seen will be my guests seeing it!

nene - I feel your pain on the weight loss (or lack of it) I've lost 4 stone over the last 2 years and have 10.5lb to go and put on 1.5lb last week :( I am going to ww but it's just hard some weeks. Horrid being so close to goal and just not getting anywhere!! We are so busy and it's just so difficult to make the right decision. Just stood on the scales tonight and I'm up again :( blooming dominos post ww last tues!!

Menu tasting went very well so that's all done and dusted and got our first pro forma invoice from the hotel which was a bit scary...and got a couple of picks to have with them which is not so pleasant...putting off sending the email!!

    xxxxxxx
What's fur ye won't go by ye!
  • Hi ladies

Sorry nt been on in ages, need to catch up with this thread

So 1 weeks for me eeekkkkk & it's coming around so quick. I am ready ie everything is sorted as it should be. RSVPs have to be back by end of June

We have to let the venue no numbers/what they want & pay for everything to do with them on 6th July 6 weeks before the date we have to pay £8000 seems so early to have to do all this..

Panicking abit as although the money is there, work for me has slowed down & the weather has out pay to my OHs work & he is hardly working. We still have things to pay for about another £4000 in the next 11 weeks so it's scaring me abit.. Hate not having any help with the wedding.

Final dress fitting is 6th Aug. I'm on a mission to lose as much as I can for this & have lost 12lbs in 3 weeks. I'd like to lose another 1st 5lbs by final fitting.
Had hair & makeup trial & happy with this.

VPB23 yay for the tax credits what a relief for you & a nice surprise as well. Could do with a nice surprise like this myself but were not entitled to tax credits so that won't be happening

My hen night is in 3 weeks, were going to Brighton, have a activity planned not sure what it is a meal & then onto a club, my best friend who is gay is sorting it out, there should be 12 of us so should be good...
    Getting married Sat 1st September.

  • Was meant to say I haven't felt stressed through this whole process. I don't have a to do list but a spreadsheet with everything that we want what we have got/paid desposits for so I know what is left to do/buy.

Off the top of my head:

Need to get myself some flats
Get the Paige boys there suits
    Flower girls there shoes
    Gifts
Chose songs for walking in, signing register, walking out & first dance
    Finish the candy bar/sweets/scoops
    Get tags for the sweets
    Finalise garden games
    Get photo prop bits
    Get my ear ring bits

My mum got her mother of the bride outfit on the weekend. She was panicking with the weeks going by & has struggled to find something she liked but went for a John Charles dress it's stunning & it's all the colours she likes.. So that's a weight off her mind just shoes/accessories etc to sort out for her now
    Getting married Sat 1st September.

  • Hi Ladies,

Congratulations to all September 2012 brides & grooms!

Could I please join you all? We have *just* booked our wedding for Friday 28th September 2012 and have had a manic week planning.

We have the church booked and are getting married at 2pm. The venue is booked (it's next door, literally a 2 minute walk!) I bought my dress yesterday from a bridal shop close to where we live (after contemplating an eBay dress order from China)

I have a 'to do' list as long as my arm as I am sure most of you will have too so hoping to catch up and join in with you all. Im in West Yorkshire too, is there any brides nearby with recommendations of any suppliers you have dealt with? xx
