September 2012 Brides and Grooms

Eeek Fiona  but look at it as having a lovely home to move into as a newly married couple. I guess keeping everything wedding related at someone elses house would be a good idea so things don't go walkabout in the move?
Good luck with the house hunt
Exactly what we're telling ourselves!
Thanks everyone; it will be OK in the end, and we were going to move to another area of Bristol in October anyway, so had already done a little research on where to look and what we can afford. We don't have anywhere lined up, and can't move early without paying the rent until 27th August as we are in a fixed term agreement. There are plenty of flats available in the right area at our budget though, so hopefully finding somewhere won't be too difficult, and we'll probably get a removals firm to do the heavy lifting to speed things up. Plus get friends and family to help and owe them all a drink.
Thank you for the tip about keeping wedding-related stuff at someone else's house, Roz; hadn't even considered that!

That's good that you've already researched and are happy with the options - that's a huge part of the battle!
All of our invitations are now distributed and we've even had a couple of instant RSVPsStarted making our favours for the wedding breakfast today too - doing the Martha Stewart Matchbook Seed Favours - sweetpeas seeds have arrived from eBay and card purchased. It's all suddenly starting to feel very real - 12 weeks today!!

Went dress shopping today, didn't have anything in my size and not got long to get a dress. So bought one from ebay, praying it fits and looks lovely on. Need to find some nice gloves to go with it.0

Ooh, can you post a piccie of the dress you've bought please, Part Mouse? Are you going vintage-y, hence the gloves?
Moi? Nosey? :A
I picked up my hairpiece yesterday, which is LOVELY. I'll post a pic when a certain person isn't around
Roz, you're obviously getting on well with things; it's lovely when you get quick RSVPs, isn't it?! I'm having to stop myself from getting irrationally annoyed at people who still haven't RSVP'd, even though there are still 5 weeks before the deadline!
10 weeks/70 days for us (for the next 10 minutes or so, anyway...)

Hello All,
Gosh we have been chating lots since I last managed to post. Hope i've not missed anyone out.
Ghawdon - A joint hen sounds like it was fun a great way of doing it when there are lots of you getting married very :money:
Joanne :rotfl:at not sending the cheque with your notice.
Gemma hope you get everything sorted money wise & good luck with the weight loss, i'm sure you can do it.
Hello & welcome to Hannah & Part Mouse:D
Fiona -:eek: at having to move so close to your wedding, i'd second the suggestion at putting all the wedding stuff at someone house.
Roz, great to hear your ivites have gone out - hope they all reply on time. Your favours sound lovely.
I had my hen weekend last weekend, we went to Birmingham for the weekend. My BM had booked us all in for a spa afternoon at the Mal Masion which was lovely & we managed to sneek a bottle of bubbley into the relaxation room too:p After that we went to a bar for something to eat as we had not had any lunch so I think we all had steak sandwich - yum & a few glasses of wine. We then headed back to the hotel & got ready for the evening where we went to a greek restaurant, which was great, the food was lovely & we had a good laugh. The place was full of hen parties so after everyone had eaten the greek dancing & plate smashing started & I ended up dancing round with the waiters as they pulled all the brides out - it was funny though. We left there about 11.30pm & went back to the hotel, everyone came to my room & we sat & chatted & drank, there were 11 of us & everyone had fetched a bottle with them so there was plenty. Sunday after breakfast some headed straight home & a few of us headed round the shops for a bit:D
So a great time was had & they did not do anything horrible to me, the worst it got was wearing a gold crown all day & night:rotfl: I'm still waiting for photos, my BM got a guest book which everyone wrote in & she is going to print all the photos off & put them in there so will see them then. I've asked everyone to send me them but not got any yet.
Hope everyone is well.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Sounds like you had a fab hen weekend Fawny0

Sounds like a great weekend fawny!!
H2B and I went to Bath Thermae Spa yesterday. It was exactly what I needed after the stress of the last week. So I'm now feeling very sanguine and chilled about the whole wedding/moving house thing - let's see how long that lasts...

Ive been feeling a little down the last few weeks....Im having the dreaded 'dress regret'
Ive been surfing online and have found one I really like! (only in America at the minute) so I cant even try it onbut you know when you keep thinking about it saying 'what if'. What if its the one and i miss out, what if i buy it and it doesnt look right on me etc.
I love it though and really fits the fun feel of the day:
You can get chinese made ones for about £190...and Id love to see it made in silver. Im just so confused at what to do:dance:
