i think if it was me id resign myself to not getting it now, its just too close, if you ordered it now how long does it take to make?
id be worried it wouldnt get here on time or that it was too late for any alterations needed, it would just be an added stress that i wouldnt need
go back to when you first saw your dress you must have felt something for it, keep feeling it and, just like your h2b, youll learn to love it flaws an all:rotfl:I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Im not sure how long, a chinese version would be about a month I think.
My other dress is having alterations done at the moment, so i always have it as back-up...lol
When I first tried it on it was 2 minutes before the wedding show was finishing and a voice came over the speakers for everyone to leave. I was told 'if you dont order it now it wont arrive in time - its not even been released yet'
which I now found out was a lie
I said I
DONT want: too poofy
shiny
big train
I DO want: one shoulder and some nice sparkly bits on it
My dress is poofy, shiny, no sparkle and a huge train LMAO
The alterations woman said it would be a shame to cut the train off (my mum and dad agreed) and that the dress 'doesnt need sparkle'
I was just stood in the dress not even looking at my self in the mirror and Id just had enough that I said ...ok we will keep the train etc.
Then I come home and find that nice dress online. It can have a strap added and ive seen people try this dress on with a nice blingy belt across the middle.
I think the reason why I dont like my own too much is because it doesnt deem to fit properly (yet all the dress people, and the alteration people said it does!)
I hope you are all going to understand what I mean as I tried explaining to someone before and they didnt understand lol.
This is what a 'fitting' dress looks like to me.
Take huge note of how much chest (not boob! lol) they have on show from their chin to the top part of the dress:
the look comfy yes?
Now look at this one:
Its pushed up so far under her arms that it gives her a 'bulldog' stance with her arms.
Everything looks pushed up and uncomfy.
Well I have a short body..so where the waist on a wedding dress is, and where the boob part is, is longer on me. So where the dress should fit on my hips, pushes the boobs up higher than their natural position (lol now i know some women would WANT that lol) but all my body feels pushed up out of position and the dress comes up too far under my arm pits, causes abit of bunching and I dont feel comfortable. Does that make sense?!
And I dont think they can do alterations to it due to the boning inside and the actual design of the dress:dance:

Oh Tracey, I'm sorry that your dress isn't what you'd hoped. If you're really unhappy with it could you try to find something off the rack, and sell your other one? Perhaps from somewhere like Monsoon, Phase Eight etc? We can help you look!

Nuttymummy, the neckline in the bottom photo is different to the ones above - it is designed to sit on top of the boobs so there will be less skin on show below the shoulders if that makes sense? Her posture is different to the others as well - she's more hunched whereas the others have shoulders back.
Have you tried your dress since it's been altered? Could you add a blingy sash or something? Or bling it up with accessories (a necklace, tiara, bangle etc)?0 -
Ive been so fussy over dresses it unreal!, too shiny, too big, too poofy, material too thin (show my belly! lol) dont like the design etc. So im miffed for letting myself buy it LOL
Roz, yes its a different neckline....though mine is a sweetheart (i think thats what they call it!?) so abit like the second picture...though mine come up too high, i feel all 'pushed upwards' if that makes sense?!
I go to try it on again in July...but all they are altering is the length of the front...nothing elseand due to the design of the dress there no-where to put a sash...it has pleating and I thought about scattering a few along the pleats but they said it doesnt need it and may make the dress look odd. I should also say that my dress is silver lol
Ok I cant believe im going to do this...but here is a picture of me in the dress. Excuse the eyes shut, they caught me mid blink and im looking rather hot, sweaty and just abit miserable LOL
look ho far the boob part goes under my arms! I feel like i need to pull it down abit to feel comfy...but i cant due to the waist! ol:dance:

For what it's worth I think you look stunning in the dress!
Could you perhaps buy a blingy brooch and attach it near the hip where the pleating starts rather than adding beading?

lol *blush* thank-you...i just dont 'feel' it if you know what i mean?!
funny you should say that! There is a bow that comes with this dress (its supposed to be fixed on the back where the strap meets) but its like a brooch so can be taken off. Im having it fitted to the left hand side where the pleating goes down. It only has a small amount of bling on it. Here is the original dress...which might i say look fabulous on the skinny model and nowhere NEAR as poofy as it actually is(and the boobs are in the right place grrr...Lol)

OK, first that other dress that you posted has an unflattering straight neckline/uniboob and yours is gorgeous with a sweetheart neckline!!!
Second, I agree that you could add bling at the hip with a gorgeous brooch, and also with your jewellery (Jenny Packham Acacia headpieces are my current obsession, and they can be hired on eBay for just £40) xx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

uniboob XD lol
Yeah im really struggling with jewellery at the moment, I didnt want to wear a necklace due to having a one shoulder dress. So im aiming for earrings ,a bracelet, and a purple flower in my hair.
Do you girls reckon anything could be done with my dress...as in alterations of the body parts. im expecting it to be impossible due to the boning and the actual structure of the dress (nowhere to hide cuts etc!)
but im gutted with the fit. Look at the model in my dress, lovely strap feature, nice neckline. You can hardly see the strap on mine, might aswell not bloody use it! ha ha
you reckon something could be done?! Ive already paid £150 for any alterations to be done, steamed and storage...so it *shouldnt* cost me any extra x:dance:
