Hi Fiona,
Yes, I certainly do know the style of dress now! Just hoping to find it now! Ha.
The service they offer in that shop for making your dress from scratch starts at £1200....it is over my budgetwould really love to have that done though, my perfect dress...made just for me.
So are you not getting an album with the DVD? There was a photographer yesterday at the Fayre I went to who had an offer on for £485 (option 3, the price list is right at the bottom of the page)for the DVD plus a story book included which is very good. But didnt want to book him there and then. Ill post his site address if you wouldnt mind having a looking and telling me what you think???
:rotfl:Me and OH were discussing the other day how we are sooo looking forward to the honeymoon, possibly more than the wedding! EEeek. The more of the wedding we are planning, the more we are looking forward to it though. I think in an ideal world, we would hav eloved to be able to get married on our own, and then get off on our honeymoon!! hehehe.0 -
Anyone else having problems changing their signature? Mine is saying links not allowed...i dont even have an links???!!! Wont let me change it.0

Hi there,
I was just wondering if you have heard anything from Halswell recently? My sister is due to get married there in June and they have failed to send out a new contract despite promising to when she spoke to them at the beginning of Jan, so literally a few weeks ago. She went on holiday and has tried to contact Halswell this week on her return to find that the numbers are dead! Do you (or anyone else reading) have a working number that she can use or any further information? Anything to put her and her fiancee's mind at rest, they are worried sick0 -

Hi,
No, not getting an album with the photography package; I don't think our photographer does albums actually, or if he does he sub-contracts them, as it were. I'm actually really looking forward to going through our photos and designing our photobook - LOVE doing stuff like that!
Please do post the photographer's website and we'll have a look at his stuff. The price is very good - just a little more than we're paying. Make sure that the DVD you receive is of photos of printing quality, and that you have permission to print. Otherwise you will find yourself paying a lot of money every time you want a copy of a photo.Anyone else having problems changing their signature? I've just tried to change my signature and it was fine, so you might want to email the forum team for help. Maybe save a copy of the info you have on there just in case they wipe it!tinkabell2002uk wrote: »Hi there,

I haven't heard anything about them I'm afraid; I've seen your other post about this, and really hope your sister and her fiance get it sorted soon.

I shall try again, and if not, will email an administrator, thanks.White_Sapphire wrote: »I haven't heard anything about them I'm afraid; I've seen your other post about this, and really hope your sister and her fiance get it sorted soon.
Sorry to hear this, fingers crossed for your sis too. Let us know how she goes on.0 -
Just had a look at that photographer's website Natalie; some lovely photos, although not many of them! If you like his style why don't you arrange to meet up with him again, and have a look through some more photos? You're obviously getting a good 'vibe' from him, which is very important.
H2B and I had a wedding chat last night to go through our To Do list; he was very good, and didn't faint, or cry, or anything! :rotfl: It's actually not that bad even though it covers several pages; I've gone into quite a lot of detail, and quite a few things appear more than once at different stages, eg instead of just 'do invites', it's 'make invites', 'confirm wording, and print invites', 'check all addresses', and 'post invites'. That way I get the satisfaction of ticking things off more often! We are running a bit behind though, so we need to catch up during February.
How is everyone else doing? Even if your answer is "AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! *SOBSOBSNIFFLE*" I can guarantee it's not that bad, and we can help!

Booked the mens suit's today, and also got the fizzy stuff for the toasts and the kia royales! Suits are really complicated, as the groom and his two best men are having frock coats, top hats, gloves and canes, and the 2 fathers plus bride's brother are having edwardian jackets and no top hats! Added to that the groom is having a different tie and waistcoat from everyone else it took ages in the shop and was really hard to explain.
Then went to Tesco with my new load of clubcard points and bought the sparkling wine (decided not to have champagne as none of us actually like it). With a bogof deal and the points managed to get the lot for £30 so really pleased with that.
Things are moving ahead!0 -

Wow! Top hats, canes, gloves and everything! That'll look amazing! :T We're still to decide on groomsmens' outfits; we're not sure, but we'll probably just ask them to wear a grey/black suit with a cream shirt, and provide the accessories. H2B is having a suit made.
You must have a lot of booze in your house Debbie! Well done on the MSE-ing, as ever!
I had another dressmaking session yesterday; spent most of the time ironing the fabric pieces, as I got the last of the roll in the shop so the fabric got a little crushed. Not very interesting to photograph.... On a slightly more exciting note, my Mum, the complete STAR that she is, found some lining fabric which is as near as dammit a perfect match! So that got cut out yesterday too. Plus, we finished the front of the bodice, bar pressing (photo here, password Sep2012). Next week's task: press the bodice front, hem armholes in bodice back and sew the bodice pieces together.

Wowsers!!! I have finally read through and got upto date with the thread! :rotfl: Taken me ages, i was reading bits here and there and then tonight I thought, right, going to read it all until ive got to the end! So here i am!
Thanks for "welcome backs" earlier in the thread.
Yep....time is definately flying by, and seems like someone upstairs is speeding it up on purpose!!
Well, recently I have been panicking a little, had a few of those scary, horrible wedding nightmares. Had one the other night that the car I booked didnt turn up so had to rush around trying to get to the church, and wearing a wedding dress that i only half heartedly liked, and got to the venue and there was no food as i hadnt got in touch with the venue to let them know numbers of guests and what we would like, and then there was no DJ as i didnt book them either!!!! NIGHTMARE!!!!!!
Update as to where i am so far....I started looking at dresses around October last year, have tried LOADS on at about 4 - 5 different shops. Couldnt find any I liked, except for one at a shop that has really bad reviews on google, and I know of people who have had bad experiences with the shop, so wouldnt buy a dress from there, even if it was "the one" And another dress i liked at another shop but it crinkles around my torso which nothing can be done about it apparently, even if it was 2 sizes too big...so, gutted about that, but obviously that isnt the one either.
Decided to leave all wedding planning until after christmas...far too much Christmassy things to do but now panicking that i have so much to do, so little time, and dont know where to start!!!
I have a spreadsheet, Im like the spreadsheet Queen (!!!), but its not the same as a to do list so i decided today to make up a "wedding file" with sections for everything! Put all my venue correspondance in one part, honeymoon quotes in another, dress ideas in another, photograper contacts in another etc, and im going to write out a "to do" list to put at the front, with monthly tasks! Feel better already for just having a plan! Ive even sorted out my bookmarks into a "wedding file" so everything is in its place!!! :T
So far I have -
Booked the Church - (need to confirm the time and pay)
Booked the Venue - (paid deposit, need to confirm guests and food at a later date, so far decided on an afternoon tea and bucks fizz reception, and pie and peas in the evening!!! Although not just "pie and peas" but will be having chilli, jacket taties, maybe hot dogs etc for kids)
That is it.....nothing else booked...can feel another panck attack coming on!!!
In progress -
May have a DJ/Singer - going to see her do a gig to see if we like her. Shes very reasonable compared to other prices ive seen on here for just a DJ - £350!! But ive found her through a friend and she said we would give me a discount as she lives close to our venueIve found a link on You tube for her...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhh9SIubxCI She does 50's upto present music, and also DJs which is best of both worlds.
Seen/Seeing some photgraphers - Seen one so far, wasnt too bothered for her style, and she admitted she wasnt a wedding photographer, normally does studio work, and only did 6 weddings last year...seeing another lady (her new site isnt finished yet) next week, sounds lovely and charges at the most £750, which would be in our budget.
Been looking at wedding rings - Both OH and I know what rings we are having... is it normal for bride and groom to have different rings? I want an 18ct flat court ring and OH wants a palladium ring like this
Wedding dress - got 2 appointments at very promising wedding dress shops next Thursday...fingers crossesAnyone else struggling to find THE dress? Worried!
Honeymoon - OH really wanted to go to Thailand but its just not me, doesnt appeal at all. But weve spoken to a couple of travel agents and seems like Mexico, Riviera Maya is coming up trumps, best for both if us- Caribbean Coast, lovely beaches, 5* hotel, and able to venture outside the hotel. Maldives just doesnt appeal to either of us, being able to walk around the island in 20 mins, quite scary actually! But this Mexico honeymoon is coming up at £4k!!! EEEK, nearly as much as our wedding. What are you all spending on yours, and where are you going? Like you White_Sapphire, i like Croatia...and also Italy, Mexico wasnt on my radar!
Cake - Stepmums work colleague (she works at a college, and her friend is a bakery teacher!) may do this for me, or one of her students, stepmum is going to ask her.
Sorry this is soooo long, ive not been on in ages so felt i had to spurt everything out! LOL
Sounds like everyone else is coming along just great.
