White Sapphire - it's not the wearing of a suit that he has a problem with, it's wearing a suit that OH & I have chosen... He wants to buy a dark grey suit and wear it with a white shirt & grey tie, whereas OH would like he and the two dads to be wearing pale grey suits with white shirts and a pale pink tie. I spoke to my mum about it and she said that I should get OH to email my dad directly and explain and maybe attach a few pictures. We shall see...

Shame about your veil fabric :-( hopefully you'll make your money back. Will have a nosey at the dress progress at the weekend (or maybe at work tomorrow if it's quiet!!)

Welcome Meechly - you seem very organised!

Hugs to all with bridesmaid traumas :(

I met with my chair cover lady this evening, she is LOVELY!! She's offered to throw in table runners for free :T and the shade of pink which she is going to use for the chair sashes and the runners exactly matches the colour of ribbon that I have chosen for the buttonholes :o somebody had better notice :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Took a trip to Ikea on Sunday and picked up the mirrors and the tea light holders for the table centrepieces, so the house is beginning to fill up a bit now! There's a wedding fair at the venue on 12th so going to that with the mums as they haven't seen the venue before, and I've never seen it when it's been anything other than empty so excited for that :)

Hope all is well with everyone... 7 month countdown now for some! X

Ah, well hopefully your H2B can get it sorted.

I know, I thought I'd struck lucky there!! :o Ho hum, plenty of time to find a better match...

Excellent! WE'LL notice ;) Make sure you get the photographer to take a photo of a buttonhole on a table runner to make sure :D

Ooh, that'll be good to see your venue again, especially with Mums in tow. I really want to take my mum & MiL2B to see our venue, or at least the day one - the Lady Mayoress does 'At Homes' aka open days once a month so will have to go to one of those.

Hope all is well with everyone... 7 month countdown now for some! X

We reached our 7 month countdown two days ago - eeeep!! H2B and I were talking about how quickly the time is going, and he said 'is there that much left to do?' :rotfl: I'm going to show him the To Do list tonight.... :D

He is very slightly irritating me by constantly second-guessing himself on whether to invite certain cousins of his or not. TBH I really don't mind either way whether they are there or not, and we can just about fit a few more people in budget-wise, but what concerns me is that we both agreed not to invite people in our families with whom we effectively have no contact. I'm not inviting all of my cousins for this reason, and if he also is not then it is fair to both families. But, if he invites all his cousins and I don't invite all of mine then it might cause issues, and we'd struggle to afford all his cousins AND all of mine... grrr!

I'll try to sort it out with him this weekend; I think a good long chat about all things wedding is needed!

    Hello Ladies,

Welcome meechly to the Sept thread:j Sounds like you are very organised.

Roz - hope your OH manages to get your Dad to agree to ware the suit you want, I don't know Dad's hey. The chair cover lady sounds great & :jto the table runner.

Scotsbride, yes your right about highstreet is good for BM dresses, i'm taking my BM shopping at the end of March & we will hopefully get sorted. I've seen some lovely dresses in Coast so will have to see if they suit. I've no set idea on colour, we do have an orange theme but BM is quite a red head so won't suit complete orange but is happy for it to have orange in. Will just see what we can find what suits her & she is comfortable in, have a budget of £200 for her dress so hopefully that will cover it.

White Sapphire you dress is looking great, hope you get your veil fabric sorted out.

Started taking hair & nail tablets to see if I can improve them & i'm been good with my beauty routine cleaner, toner the works:D

Forgot to say H2B seems to think there is not much to do with most of it been arranged by the planner. However we need to sort the mens suits, we want to make a cd of our music to be played on the boat for an hour which is going to take some doing. I keep wanting to sit down & get a list of songs together but he keeps saying we have loads of time:rotfl:

Sat watching "don't tell the bride" & it makes me cry what am I going to be like on the day.

Thanks Scotsbride not seen that one looks lovely, really like the Allure short & maxi dresses too. Good idea about a white dress with an orange sash! My dress is ivory, men are waiting cream trousers, with white shirts, orange cravats & a waistcoat of some discription - well thats the plan we have not been to the hire shop to get them sorted but I have their broucher & thats what we have choosen. The venue put white linen on the tables & we have orange table runners. So no other colour at the moment which is why I don't really mind what colour her dress is as long as it looks good & she is happy in it since it will be about 40c:eek:even at 4.30pm

No idea on my hair, need to get a few ideas in case I need to get clips & pins etc as I won't be meeting the hairdresser to the day. I'm going to look in a few mags & the probably ask you ladies;)

  • Fawny, re bm dress - blue and turquoise go well with orange, and as a bonus suit redheads very well!

White dress with orange sash would also be lovely.

make sure he's sitting down when you get the list out

Men eh?! If it was them organising the weddings then this thread probably wouldn't even exist until 31/8/12! :rotfl:

My best friend had her little boy yesterday so I've been bawling in happiness and staring at the pics all day. Think it's too early to ask her about my wedding cake yet?! :rotfl:

Hi i'm a sept 2012 bride too we're getting married 22nd, we have venue and church booked, dj and table/chairs covers done. wedding favours have been the funniest things to do we are having aftershave miniatures for the men and jewellery for the ladies (only costume ones tho) small personalised mini whiskey or wine bottles and small sweetie bags in a little basket for each guest havent actually cost a lot to make so pleased with the results so far.
Flower girl is done (dress, shoes and little wand) all the ushers and groom etc are having the debenhams deal 4 outfits and the groom goes free. asked about my son being page boy if they would include him as one of the four they said yes. my dress, shoes are brought so just need veil or tiara (haven't decided yet) photographer is local but she will beat any quote i've had so bonus, florist is beginning to look expensive even with seasonal flowers, cake is from m&s on sale honeymoon i will be searching groupon.com for the getaways bridesmaids have got to wait as one is only 14 years old so still growing. cars is difficult on a budget it seems and would also like to know if anyone is having trouble with the little details like first song that we dance too? we love thunder (we're into rock music!) love walked in but if anyone can suggest any nice ones ill try them out.

Just wanted to say....oh my god, me and OH love that song, and would love it as a first dance song, but wasnt sure how it would go down!!!
