T*ovi - your venue is gorgeous. Lucky you having such a fab looking place, and the room with the fireplace is lovely!!

Toni - have balloons if you want them, and don't have them if you're not bothered! Don't choose based on whether they're in fashion/the done thing though! Vintage theme sounds fab - definitely check out Wanchai's thread for ideas ( hello lurker!!)

White Sapphire, congrats on booking the honeymoon! Think we're going to look for a cheap mini-break for the days following the wedding as we have a week booked off work but aren't going for "honeymoon proper" until 2013. Looks like you ticked a few things off your list as well :D

Fawny, your shoes are fab! Have you tried walking in them yet?

We've been quoted around £300 for a chauffeur driven "Executive Car" (BMW, Merc etc) decorated with ribbons. The cost is high because we need the car for around 7 hours due to the varied locations of the wedding, they charge by the hour so it would be much cheaper if you didn't need it so long. I would recommend searching for business-orientated chauffeur companies in your area as well as the traditional wedding car companies if you just want a "posh" car and not so much a "vintage wedding" car

I did get one quote of £995 for a vintage rolls royce  Would have been lovely but couldn't justify spending that.

been reading through this thread and i can't believe how organised some of you are, very impressed :) esp. white_sapphire, i hope we're going to get a pic of your dress once its done :)

well after lots of thinking, we're going vintage :) as its in a village hall in the country i think it will suit it. So now we're going round charity shops and car boots collecting pretty vintage tea cups, cake stands and serving platters. Going to use different jars on the tabbles to put lots of flowers in, making vintage tea cup candles so theres one on each table and either having a pot of lavender on each table or a different herb on each one and the table named after the certain herb. Need to find some pretty bunting now :) do you think this theme sounds ok?

In reply to White Sapphire, yes we are doing the naming the tables after herbs thing as we have a village hall as well. Catherine is making her own bunting using old rolls of wallpaper cut up and pasted over string with ribbons between - really cheap and easy to make and looks great! Here is her thread on it - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3317190=

The ebay bridesmaid dress has come today, we bought a tester to see what its like before we order all of the bridesmaids.

This is a front shot of someone else wearing the dress. Do you think I'll need a petticost under it to make it a bit fuller? And if so, which one?
