Wow... what a weekend I actually cried with excitement, we have changed where we are holding our ceremony, to somewhere I really wanted....Im sooooo sooooo happy! I had to wait till 9.00 this morning to see if it was available, so now we are doing the do at 2.30, was not sure if it is too late.
Ok girls my dress is platinum/silver ....what colour veil do yas reckon?
Fantastic news! Can we have a peek at the new venue, or are you keeping it on the hush hush? I think that 2.30 is a good time to start - gives guests time to have lunch beforehand so they're not starving by the time you get to the meal, plus you don't have to get up at stupid o'clock to have hair and make up done!
You might be able to get a silvery coloured veil, or white/ivory would also work.Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

its about a 5 minute walk away from the reception. (i just didnt like the idea that there was a bar in the room where we were getting married.
The room is the oak room with the fireplace...it just feels more "proper":j :j:j:j :j

Welcome back natc!! :hello: There are a few people on this thread who haven't been on here for a while - part of me always starts to worry, thinking 'ooh, I hope they're OK' - I think I just feel a little protective cos I started the thread!!Stoopid me
Anyway, good to have you back - still plenty of time to get everything sorted, so enjoy catching up on the thread news for now.

How exciting!!! Will there be piccies of the bodice? Pretty pleeeeeaaaase? :A
I am very excited this evening, as we booked our Honeymoon flights! Montenegro for two weeks, flying sleazyjet, unfortunately, but they're the only airline who do direct flights that aren't ridiculous prices!
Best bit though is that the tickets are booked as Mr and Mrs - first time I've seen my soon-to-be name typed out! :j We celebrated this momentous occasion by eating ice cream. Of course.

I will try & get my Mum to take a pic. Just need to start walking round the house with my shoes to see if they are going to be too high, I have a feeling i'm going to end up getting a different pair:(
:j White Sapphire to sorting the honeymoon it's all so exciting. Don't worry about sleazyjet, make sure you tell them it's your honeymoon it might get you a bottle of champagan, worth a try anyway. Have you found your hotel?
t*ovi your venue looks fantastic, so pleased for you:D
Welcome back Natc great to hear from you again, I can't beleive how quick the time is passing:eek:Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -

I made sure to only look at shoes with a maximum heel height of 2 1/2"! I'm a bit pants with very high heelsHope yours are comfy; have you considered using those gel inserts?
I will speak to sleazyjet about it being our Honeymoon, but as they charge for EVERYTHING I won't be holding my breath! We're waiting for a tourist and activities company to come back to us about accommodation; we've found a studio apartment which is very cheap and looks really nice, but we're concerned that it might be a bit too close to the nightlife for our liking. We're hoping that we can use this place as a base then maybe spend odd nights elsewhere as well - means we don't have to lug all our stuff around the whole time!

It's the height thats the problem, i'm pants too in high heels. They are wedges which I'm ok with but these are rather high & my Mum is worried i'll break my foot if I fall off them:o The wedding planner says I can walk down the hill to the chapel in bear feet if I need to - lots of brides do she said & then she will pause at the bottom for me to put them on. But if i'm wobbly in them it's no good & I will have to do a bit of walking & go on the beach. I have told H2B that he can carry me in a lovely way across the beach. I did think about some nice flip flops but I do need a heal as having a long dress with a bit of a train & will look silly if I have flats:(
These are my shoes - sorry about the size of the picMarried the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Ooh, lovely shoes!
The fact that they are wedges helps, as does part of the heel being 'offset' by the platform, so the effective heel height as far as your feet are concerned is probably not that high. Plus, they have a strap across the front which helps stabilise them.
If you're struggling, could you wear them for the ceremony and pictures then change into lower heels for the reception?
