Thanks! It's on my To Do list
The thought of getting to the airport only to realise that you can't fly just doesn't bear thinking about
Our To Do list for the next couple of months is:
-[STRIKE]Book DJ (we've decided on him, just need to complete the form and [/STRIKE]send the deposit)
-Make invites, confirm all addresses
-Set up wedsite
-Book [STRIKE]accommodation and[/STRIKE] main activities for Honeymoon
-Book wedding transport
-Research travel and accommodation for guests
-Sow sweet pea seeds
-Start planning ceremony - readings, vows, music etc
-Cost up cake, decide who is making which tier and when (looking at one tier each of fruit, chocolate and lemon, with an individual one for our coeliac guest as we're having it for dessert)
-Sort out gift list
-Order George's suit
-Order George's ring (mine's done)
-Decide dates for hen and stag parties
-Make wedding dress, not including finishing, decorations and hemming
-Contact venues re menu options
That's till the end of March - there is plenty more!
*Edited to cross out what we did yesterday evening*

been reading through this thread and i can't believe how organised some of you are, very impressed
esp. white_sapphire, i hope we're going to get a pic of your dress once its done
well after lots of thinking, we're going vintageas its in a village hall in the country i think it will suit it. So now we're going round charity shops and car boots collecting pretty vintage tea cups, cake stands and serving platters. Going to use different jars on the tabbles to put lots of flowers in, making vintage tea cup candles so theres one on each table and either having a pot of lavender on each table or a different herb on each one and the table named after the certain herb. Need to find some pretty bunting now
do you think this theme sounds ok?

one other thing, do people still use balloons for table decoration at weddings? i dont know whether to use balloons or not?0

Thank you! I will definitely get pictures of the finished dress when it's done; I'll probably put them on my photobucket page cos it's password protected so unintended eyes can't see them!
Your theme sounds gorgeous! I think that TheSeventh (her mum, DebbieCatal, is on here a lot) is having herbs in pots for her table decorations too. BTW, lavender flowers from July - September, in answer to your query on wanchai's thread.one other thing, do people still use balloons for table decoration at weddings? i dont know whether to use balloons or not?
Do you want balloons? If so, have them, and don't worry about whether it's still a popular idea or not.

im finally getting excited about it all now, i just couldnt decided on a theme for ages but vintage just seems so right because of where we're having the reception, now i can start getting things together
balloons add height as my mum says, but i just dont want to go mad and get too much to put on the tables0 -
My OH is going mad about having some balloons that are inside other balloons *rolls eyes* Small thing I guess. :rotfl:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

*delurks*
It depends on whether you want them. I hate balloons at anything other than kids' parties personally, but if you like them, have them! It's your day.If not, you can add height in other ways - candelabras, tall vases, glass lanterns, giant martini glasses etc. HTH!
I'm going vintage too (as you know) so looking forward to sharing ideas xxx

We our daytime gets turned into evening room, im going to keep the table centrepieces i have,,,,then because there will be more tables put out for the evening i was thinking about having the balloons.
Plus near the end of the night the helium can be sucked in, much to peoples enjoyment.
Last time we had helium balloons my daughter did a rendition of follow the yellow brick road!
And I proposed via helium balloon (couldnt think of anything else to say) and look where i am now!!:j0 -
OK so chair covers are sorted - £245 for 100 inc. sash (set up, collection etc all included), just need to fill out the booking form and send it back. Also going to meet with her to check out sash colours.
Buttonholes are in the process of being sorted, I've contacted a seller on eBay who has quoted a fab price (we're providing buttonholes for all 14 ceremony guests) and she's going to send some ribbon swatches through so I can decide which colour as she has lots of pinks apparently... I have compromised with my mum, I'm "allowed" foam buttonholes but she's organising a real bouquet with a local florist...
OH has started looking into hotel accommodation for us & guests for the night of the wedding, and he's also going to organise a date for suit fitting with our dads.
Think I'll email a few car companies tonight and try and get that ticked off the list as well, then that'll be everything that needs booking done, and it's just the details and crafty bits left to sort.
Crikey that makes me sound much more organised than I actually am :rotfl: got a few busy weekends coming up and so trying to plough through whilst I've got some spare time!0
