    Hi all, again :o

Been thinking about how to do the invites this evening. We have decided, in order to save paper and money, to design the invites so that no separate envelope is needed. Below is the general design, followed by the prototype of the stencil we'll use to decorate the inside of the invites. I'm thinking of cream card with gold paint, then black ink for the wording to make sure it's easily readable. Haven't decided on wording, font, inserts etc yet.

The general idea is that the invite will fold into an envelope shape which will be sealed with a wax seal (the stamps and wax can be bought fairly cheaply; the stamp will either be kept for re-use or sold on afterwards :money:).

So, thought you might like to have a nosey at what I've done so far. I'd love any feedback as well; obviously these are just sketches, but if anyone has any ideas for improvements that'd be fab. :)

That's a great idea! We're having "pocket" invites so will need seperate envelopes, but hoping to do the whole lot for £75 inc. postage :money:They will be very simple cream card with a pink ribbon & diamante buckle on the outer, and then just printed black wording on the inner, similar to this. Hoping to order the bits this month and start making them.

I've heard good things about Bare Minerals make up too. Going to get myself a trial as I'm doing my own for the wedding.

t*ovi, purple, black & silver is a great colour combination :)

My "To-Do" list for Jan-March is as follows:
    • Organise wedding transport
    • Organise chair covers
    • Sort buttonholes
    • Order wedding rings
    • Order groomsmen outfits
    • Order invitation materials & make them
    • Order venue decorations (centrepieces, table runners, misc pretty bits)
    • Sort wedding cake (best friend is making it, but she's 6 weeks away from giving birth right now so I think I'll wait until she's back on her feet before discussing!)
    • Purchase bridal jewellery & accessories
    • Finalise menu and arrival drinks with evening venue
    • Book wedding night hotel
    • Look into hotel accommodation for guests
    • Decide on ceremony music/readings

    Hello Ladies,

Invites look great White-Sapphire what a brilliant idea, sounds lovely. How's the dress coming along? I think you are amazing making your own dress what with everything else you have to sort out.

Roz your invites sounds lovely too & very MSE. The to do list is looking good, can't beleive we only have 8 months to go now:j

I've been trying out the Double Wear makeup from Estee Lauder & it really is great:D Tried it when we were on holiday in the heat & it really did last, foundation, eye shadow & lip gloss it brill so think i will go for that. Still thinking about using a primer(think it called) on the day to just make sure it last enough but it was great. Not cheap but i've got £80 of boots points so will be free if I use that:money:

I spoke to the registair office over Xmas about making an appointment to get are CNI to say we are free to marry & the woman I spoke to was really unfriendly:( I need an appointment for June which I know is a way off but it's important that we don't miss the time frame for the Greek laws & she was really unhelpful & said I could not make it yet as it was far too early. I don't know if it was the fact that she was working over the holidays or the fact we are marrying abroad but she was really funny about it. We have a choice of which office to go to so I will ring the other one in a few weeks & try & make the appointment, hopefully they will be nicer.

My BM said at New Year that she want to be a size 10 again(currently 12) for the wedding so I said she has until the end of March! I want to go shopping for her dress then as everyone will have all the summer stock in then & we will have a good choice. If she has not lost it by then she will have to know she can get into the size 10 by Sept if she wants that size.

Other than that it's a bit quiet with me at the moment.

That's a great idea! Are you filling them with flowers?

Fawny, I'm having similar potential issues with my MoH; she really wants to lose a few pounds and is, I suspect, putting off speaking to my mum about being measured for her dress. It's not too much of a problem at the moment (especially as I haven't got her fabric yet), but it won't be long before my mum will have so much else to do that fitting everything in will be tricky! I'll speak to her (MoH) over the weekend and suggest joint health and fitness plans/moral support type thing!
