Hello Ladies,
Hope we are all well in the run up to Christmas. Can't wait to finish work & just have some me time:D
Just catching up with whats been happening, Bubbles your vail looks stunning & a great price too:D
Great news on getting your dress fabric sorted out White Sapphire:j
Joanne I love the dress, it's beautiful:D
Welcome to Mummy2roo, look forward to hearing all your plans.
We have received all the orders back from the wedding planner now with prices confirmed for everything, somethings were more expensive than we had budgeted for as we had no idea & we have included some items that we had not budgeted for:o I had allowed £200 for the flowers & it will be about £215 with the exchange rate so i was not far off. Thats for mine, Bridesmaids, 3 bottonholes & my mums wrist cortarge, not too bad when most flowers seem to have to be imported into Rhodes. My flowers have come out a lot more expensive than we though I think it's the roses thats done it, I was going to change them but H2B said to stick with it:D
I'm meeting my dressmaker on 14th Jan to get my measurements so she can start making my dress:j Gives me 2 weeks after christmas to shed any pounds i've put on over christmas.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0 -
Merry Christmas all
that's me finished for the holidays boy do I need it. Between chest infections and being SO busy at work due to the year end coming up I'm so happy this afternoon to be on my couch watching Mary Poppins
The good news is I won that ebay listing!! So got a hoop for £17 including postage instead of hiring for £30!! Defo money saving and it's a Jupon!! Pink Princess thank you so much for your tip!! I picked it up today so it's safely in the cupboard (after a try on!) So that's another thing ticked off the list.
I also went and had a play with my wedding budget spreadsheet as I really wasn't sure what we'd paid and what we are still due etc. etc. so have updated all that so my percentage saved significantly improved when I make it saved/paid so that's good half way there!! What a relief as I was feeling a little out of control despite knowing that I'd made a lot of savings but it's looking good as we're just going to knuckle down next year and hopefully get it all saved sooner rather than later
Wont' be long and we can all say "WE GET MARRIED THIS YEAR"
Can't wait thanks for everyone's help so far you are a truly lovely gang

Glad you're better Jo! Also a massive well done on MSE petticoat purchase; if you decide to sell it on afterwards you might even make a profit if you make sure to put the style number in the listing.
Have a fantastic Christmas everyone! :xmastree::beer:

Bubbles your veil is beautiful & a bargain, as is your hoop Jo :money:
White_sapphire I'm glad mine is not the only "flexible" to-do list!! Haha I keep picking the nice jobs and moving the rubbishy ones back :rotfl:
Mummytoroo, rather than a traditional vintage car, I'm using an Executive Chauffeur company- miles cheaper, we've had quotes of around £300 for a posh Merc for six hours hire including ribbons in my choice of colour - sure it'd be cheaper if our venues were all a bit closer together!!! :rotfl:
Fawny, for the sake of £15 you may as well have the flowers that you want. They're still a taboo topic in this household right now... :rotfl:
Merry Christmas everyone - have a happy & healthy one, I'm excited to see everything come together for us next year WHEN WE GET MARRIED :T:T:T
:xmassign:
Ps. I'll finish with a thought from my ever-so-tactful grandmother:
Be careful ladies, any "slip-ups" now will mean a bump at the wedding - don't get carried away this Christmas, think of the dress!!!! :rotfl:0 -
Roz that is hilarious from your grandmother
definately food for thought though!!
xxWhat's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -

Your very welcome.:D0 -
I dont know about anyone else but my anxiety dreams have well and truly started.
I dream its suddenly upon me and I realise I havent finalised anything.
In my last one dreamt I turned up in a grey trouser suit and missed the ceremony- so we skipped it and went straight to the reception- at the wrong pub! and we stood for our photos in a concrete carpark and I was still wearing my metal mouth brace and saying 'its all gone wrong!'0
