You can't just put that and leave us hanging for details!!
White_Sapphire, great news about your honeymoon
Fawny, my OH got all teary at midnight too. He's not a soppy person so I was surprised, but then seeing his hangover today (he is STILL in bed!!!) maybe it was more Jagermeister than emotion...
Thanks all for the kind words re. my sister. I've spoken to my parents today and they've said my wedding is their priority & everything we had spoken about is still AOK, but I'm still worried about the effect on the family
Happy New Year everyone, it's going to be an exciting one!!!
We should have a like button on here, |I bet you feel like a whole weight has been lifted off your mind, full steam ahead for us all in preparations!! Weddings (nearly) allways have a positive effect on people, getting each other talking, and bringing people together.
And the jager is evil stuff...LOL, but I was thinking about doing a jager toast!! how to get the party swinging!! Or investigating to see if you can bake a jager cake!
My dress...i sooo want to look at pictures of it and swoon, but i dont even know what make it is, i just knew it was perfect for me when i tried it on! it was bought based on the smileometer of my mam sis and daughter had big massive cheezas (so did i) the woman in the shop even said she has goosebumps...it was about the 10th one i tried on in that shop, ....I had 2 nearlys before this one and they were both chiffon ivory flaring from under the bust, i thought this was the best shape for me seeing as i have none! But the one i bought couldnt be more different from the others...its silver satin and a line! And it is me!
But it has totally messed up with what i thought i wanted for my colours purple, black and gold! wey i suppose we can chuck a bit of silver in there too!!!
Oh we bought 2 spacehoppers last night after a couple of drinks we thought it might be a bit of a hoot for our night time doo!0 -

New to MSE website!!
I'm also having a wedding on a budget. Making things and do things ourselves wherever we can save money on! My dress, well I only want to spend £300 my max!
Just waiting for all the mad rush out of the way then the fun begins!!
Oh and hi to "joanneinwonderland" I'm also getting married 8/9/2012)
Merry Christmas everyone and i'll chat to you soon!Hiya all, Im a September bride too..the 21st.
Only just got round to catching up on on the posts on this thread (didn't read them before posting yesterday; was far too excited). Welcome to the thread Day_dreamer80 and t*ovi; the 8th is by far our most popular date, as there are now 9 of you! :T t*ovi, you have a date twin, but I forget who, so check on the first post!! Sorry, I'm a bit rubbish today...
Well my grandmother has a lot to answer for!!! (see quote from her above!)
My 18 year old sister announced at Christmas that she's dropping out of uni, moving in with her scrubber of a boyfriend (they've been together 6 months) and is pregnant
My mum and dad were due to contribute 2k to our wedding + 1k for the honeymoon, how can I possibly accept that money now? Our budget is only 6.5k so it's a massive chunk that we may now potentially be without.
I have spent the whole "festive" season so far in tears and the thought of planning my wedding makes me feel sick & selfish. I just can't get my head around any of it, and it feels like my whole family is falling apart
Thanks all for the kind words re. my sister. I've spoken to my parents today and they've said my wedding is their priority & everything we had spoken about is still AOK, but I'm still worried about the effect on the family

Roz, I'm so sorry that things seem all a bit up in the air for you at the moment. I doubt your sister has any idea of the effect that this has had on you, but it must be a comfort to know that your parents are still making you and your wedding a priority. Not sure what else to say really, so have a hug ((((((hug))))))). xAnd the jager is evil stuff...LOL, but I was thinking about doing a jager toast!! how to get the party swinging!! I want to come to your wedding - can I?? Please????
Dress sounds stunning as well - perhaps you could change your colours to purple, black and silver? Or keep the gold and add some silver on top, both would be gorgeous!
Eeeep, I'm getting butterflies already thinking about my wedding, now that it's this year!!! SOOOOO much to do!

Crikey that's close but she should be able to whack it out before your wedding?
My sister is due around my hen weekend
t*ovi - we've already requested extra supplies of Jager & Red Bull at the venue... The last wedding we were at there was a "Jagertrain" of 22 shots (video here) and apparently the 22-shot record needs beating... We're not having speeches otherwise it would have been a Jager toast I'm sure, OH already suggested it as an arrival drink!!
White_Sapphire thanks for the hug. I just don't want any family issues to cloud my day, we're usually such an un-dramatic familyI know what you mean about so much to do though, I really need to get my butt in gear!!

:rotfl: Love the choice of words!!
So, how are all you September brides/mothers thereof/lurking grooms doing? I'm trying to get as much done as possible in the next few weeks, as other parts of my life are relatively quiet, plus it distracts me from the gloom that is January weather!
I booked our hotel rooms for the night before the wedding (for me and MoH) and the wedding night yesterday. It had been stressing me out, because we decided on the hotels last October.H2B had been in contact with the bookings person there and had asked her to reserve the rooms we wanted, to which she replied 'that's fine, I'll just need card details and names to confirm'. I'd been reminding him to do it ever since, scared that we would lose our rooms, and finally phoned them yesterday to see if he'd done it; he hadn't, but fortunately the rooms were still provisionally booked! *relief* If you want a thing done....
I've also arranged an appointment with a DJ for next week; he was the one who impressed me the most in terms of responding to emails, and even called me to go through things. So if we like him, we'll just book him. I'm bored of researching companies/vendors/suppliers etc, and just want to get stuff booked ASAP so we know that the only things left to do are the things we're making or buying.
Honeymoon's a step closer too; we've found possible flights, and an apartment in a beautiful area for around 30 euros a night!! We've decided to go mad and get 1st class train tickets to the airport, as we really can't afford to fly anything other than economy, so want a little luxury on the journey. We're just waiting to hear back from a company which organises activities to see what their prices are, then hopefully we can get booking! :j
I'm going to get cracking on these blimmin' invites that I've been meaning to design in time to make over Christmas, and still haven't actually started yet...Pics to follow!
x
EDIT: Ooh, almost forgot - I had a makeover at the Bare Minerals counter today - my eyes and skin look gorge!! Don't like the lip colour as much, but I've got a better idea of how I'm doing my make up on the day! I had the appointment at 11 this morning, and it hasn't shifted a millimetre since then, so very pleased!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

OMG I hope it wasnt just one person who drank all those!!0 -
Ive just been to meet an old friend from school today, i do the odd shift in her pub once in a while, and she does chair covers etc. So i worked on new years day, and I may of took advantage of her being really drunk she told me she would do the chair covers & sash for £3, today she told me 4.50...but i had to remind her that she was doing them for £3!! Iwasnt particularly bothered about having them anyway, and she is doing the table cloths for £5. the chairs are gold in my venue. and my dress is silver.
Im thinkin..black,purple & silver http://www.photobox.co.uk/my/album?album_id=1050852747
