I want to downgrade my sky package

I did this twice before the first time i was told it was too late to do it this month, it was about a week before direct debit went out and would have to call back next month

The last time they said I had just done it in time
How long before your direct debit comes out do you have to downgrade and can they not just refund you soime if they have already took the money out of your account

I want to go down to the £15 package as I dont watch the rest and have been on Sky Movies for about a year and am wasting £37 a month

You can downgrade at any time as they pro-rata your payments when you make any change, but believe you can only do a second downgrade a month after you downgraded the first time.

I've downgraded before, and they have taken less money the next month as they take it in advance, so phone another operator as they can downgrade you at any time, not just before a direct debit.

It may be too late to stop the direct debit at the current cost, but the following month, the amount coming out will be less, as they will have overcharged the previous month as you cancelled before the direct debit came out.

Just tried to play the old cancellation card - put through to the cancellations dept, not a sniff of any discounted deals. I politely backed out and will try again in a month or so.

I've heard through another website that Sky are not offering any retention packages any more as they have got wind of us all ringing them up for discounts :(

I downlgraded to the £15 package, I had just paid the £45 fee for that month... they then took nothing for 2 month, and then just £10 on the 3rd month...so basically, you get no cash refund, just money not taken until, you are out of funds to pay for the month due.
    Hope that makes sense.

    I have just downgraded

It is going to cost full this month but nothing next month, I think he also said nothing in June and a pound in July so I will have to keep an eye on that

They would only owe me £22 for the extra but I imagine they take account of the money I have paid until then, my bill comes out on 6th so that may be were the extra free month is for will keep an eye on it

He asked me if i just wanted to keep it until 19 then he could cancal bill and then he offered me my same package £37 for £25 for 3 months but i honestly dont watch the other channels now so no sense in paying for them

We are in the same position. We have had sky for over £10 years now,my DS has just got some fab deal and has got sky plus so she can pause, stop, record do everything and here we are loyal customers with our old crappy sky box.Unfortunately the sky is in DH name otherwise I'd have rung by now but he's too shy.

Its rubbish for existing customers init!
  • I no someone that rang Sky up to ask why his friend had recieved an offer to upgrade to Sky+ for £40 and him being a loyal customer for 10 years had not.

To cut a long story short he said he had had enogh and was going to cancel, they offered him the same package for £40 ( Sky + box was a reconditioned 1, which they then replaced with a new 1 cause it kept freezing up)

Ring Sky up its worth asking
