You have to say that you want to cancel to be offered any deal and you are put through to the cancellation dept. At the end of the day, you actually have to be prepared to have it cancelled. I have had several deals from Sky over the last 2 years but there have been 2 times when they just let me cancel and I was without it for 3 weeks until they phoned with another deal.0

I phoned the sky 0800 number yesterday & told them that I would like to cancel my sky world contract(£42.50) due to the fact that I needed to save some money & that there was no football on for a few months & that was basically all I had it for. I was eventually put thru to retentions & a nice man called Grant offered me the Sky world package at a reduced price of £31.50 for 12months, BARGAIN!!!! a saving of £132, I tried to get him to throw in Prem Plus but he wouldn't, never mind I was quite happy with what I'd got. Good luck if you have a go. I Also called NTL for my girlfriend and and reduced her Phone/broadband package from £43 to £22.74 by threatening to go to TalkTalk, even bigger BARGAIN!! an annual saving of £2430

I just reduced my SKY package from £21.50/month to £9/month for SIX months ... (then I'll go for a Sky FreeSat card for £20, which gives Freeview plus a few extra freebies, and uses the existing dish & digibox, which is mine-for-free after the initial promo-period)0

I rang yesterday (after reading a similar post) and told them I wanted to cancel as I could get a better offer from Telewest. They have just added the film package to my package that I had (£21) per month for £17.50 per month for the next six months. The nice gentleman I spoke to also recommended 2 box office films and said that if I didnt like them just to ring up and they would refund the money I had paid as he had put down that he recommended them. Well of course I am not going to like them nowOfficial DFW Nerd - 3990

You don't need a freesat card. Just cancel and keep your Sky card in. You'll get all the freeview channels.

My Sky TV is not working, the box is 7 years old so I rang them, and have been offered 3 packages
sky + installed for £79 then £28 a month for the channels
sky + installed the old box 20gb for £49 then £28 a month for the channels
or a free repair of my existing equipment Is this a good offer or can I get a better offer on the sky+ . Any thoughts apreciated I dont really watch much sky so what is the best offer I can obtain other than scrapping the lot?0 -
Anyone know if there is a way to possibly upgrade to HD with the cancellation threat?
Im annoyed that I bought a TV in Currys 5 weeks ago and didnt know I could then upgrade to HD for £199 rather than £299. I went back into Curry's to ask can they do it belatedly and they said no.
It annoys me that I have to pay £299 on top of the £10 a month and others are getting it for £199 when buying things in Curry's. Some are even getting upgraded after buying anything over £169 and not the TV like the offer states [know this courtesy of AV forums]Debt LIGHTBULB Moment - Sept 2009 - *** DEBT FREE SEPT 2020
