3 months half price for me too!
Great Post

Hi
Yes I phoned a 2nd time and asked straight away for cancellations. They asked why I was leaving, I told them I had been offered 6 months half price from NTL but I told them they had first offered me the full package at half price but I wasnt interested in the full package so they gave me 6 months half price on the family. I just didnt want them offering me half price on the full package as in the end I wouldnt actually save money as I wouldnt watch the extra programs and I'd be paying the same as I already am. Just like Martin says ask myself 'Do I really need it?' No I don't and I don't need the new skybox either well not yet anyway, I may go for that at a later time.
Anyway he went off did his stuff stuck it out as far as he could push it even down to telling me what my final bill would be and saying it had been processed but I thought to hell with it if they cut me off they do.
He then asked me if the man before hadn't told me about the offers they are giving existing customers, I said no this is the reason I'm calling because I had asked and they said no there were none. He then asked me about the NTL offer, went off again and came back with 12 months at £15, its usually £20.50. It works out around the same as what the 6 months half price would have been. Not a massive saving but putting it on top of my NTL broadband half price for 12 months I dont think I did too badThanx

3 months half price full sports package for me. Dead easy, just be pleasant mention freeview etc and away we go....
Not my first discount from Sky either. Don't plan on paying the full whack with them for a long time! They are desperate to keep your business.0 -
I rang Sky yesterday to cancel (as currently we pay £52.50 per month - full package, sky+ and second subscription upstairs) I didn't get offered the half price or any discounts, but instead I've cancelled the movies and the second subscription reducing it down to £36 per month - which is going to save us £198 per year - better than nothing!!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

Thnaks to original poster - we have the full sky + multi room package at £51 per month. Phoned on the disney free call number and told them was going to freeview. After a bit of tooing and frroing they offered me £20 off a month for 3 months, or if I lose the signal from the extra box (converting it to freeview) that would save £30 a month. No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

A friend of mine called sky and asked to cancel. He said he got a cheaper deal from a local NTL. SKY were very reluctant to let him go and offered the half price deal, he kept rejecting. They the ASKED HIM would he like SKY+ for £99. He said no, too expenxive. They finally offered SKY+ for 50 quid (an engineer has to come round and change the LNB on the dish) and half price sky for 3 months!!!
