Morning all! Am trying to have a day where I just don't slip back with things. I think making any progress with things today is expecting a bit much :).

Hubby has been spending 8 hours a day job hunting after he lost his job with no notice and no compensation last Wednesday. As we were already coming in short every month and have debts, this is not good news. We also don't know what he's going to be paid for the half of the month he worked...company's going down the pan and he's still in his trial period. We have taken legal advice but not too hopeful...

Anyway, am struggling to look after my twin babies, work for my Biology and Chemistry A-Levels which I'm taking this summer (for a career change), keep the house looking this side of a cess pit etc etc.

It's hard when I know I could call hubby at any point and say 'leave the job hunting for the day, come and watch the kiddies while I sit on my bum watching Doctors' :).

Anyway...onwards and upwards, sorry for the cheerless post! Trying to decide whether to treat ourselves to a tasty tea tonight (still got a bit of money in the budget but we should try to save it due to the job situation), or have chickpea curry with storecupboard ingredients.

Re Money, OHs job, your twins.

I think you need to go and see the CAB. Your debts are high. I dont know if you are on a DMP or not but if you are then i think you need to give them a ring and update your income details with them and let them know that you will have to make very reduced payment to them.

Alsdo give Tax credits a ring. Most people think thats its all down to your income last year. Well in truth its also down to what you have comming in now. I lost my job when our twins were 6 months old. we were told by the job center lady that i spoke to, to give them a ring and update our details. My wife did this and as i was now on JSA they increased the monthly money to us as out income had droped.

Remember food/rent/morgage,tax. Pay for these first any body eslse that wonts money well thay can not have what you aint got. So stuff them.

I hope some of this info is of help. :A
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Late post from me - have been absent for a few days. Anyway, sorry to hear so many not feeling too good, for various reasons.
Remember I asked about dress for black tie do? Well I googled "long formal dresses" and found one on sale for £16!!! Sent for it - and it's great! That must count as an OS bargain, don't you think? It was on another site at over £50 in their sale!!!! I couldn't have made one for that price!
DS has been with us since Saturday, but is on an up just now and has returned home today. No OS beyond turning the last of the lamb roast into a curry today, but tomorrow I'll be back on the case!. Take care, all of you.

    Think twice before spending anything!

It was so so so simple, took about 10 minutes to make.

defiantely deserve banana and custard for laters (If i make it with skimmed milk will it still work?)

Good for you Flutterby- enjoy yourself!
Nic1 - thinking of you. Don't have any experience of your position but it sounds awful. Hope you feel better for sharing and loads of hugs to you.
Hugs to all those not feeling too good or having a bad time.

    Evening All,
Pretty ordinary day at work, home, put the washing on the rack and emptied the DW. Apart from that not much OS. Cleaned the hamster this morning as I got up too early and had a quick hoover round.

Just been to Mr A for supplies which wasn't too bad, just cost a fortune. Had to get more de-icer as I had run out and can't cope if it gets icy again (it could tonight!).

Had leaky radiator replaced yesterday. Phoned plumber about 11am, came home at lunch time to meet him and show him the problem at 1.15. He said he was busy till Thursday so gave him a key (I know him so know he's trustworthy). Got home about half five and the key was on the doormat. I thought perhaps he couldn't do the job but he had been and sorted everything. The bowl catching the drips was in the sink and the towels used for mopping up were folded neetly in the washing up bowl at the side of the sink. I have never known such a neat and tidy workman!! Just need the bill now!

Off to We Will Rock You tomorrow!!

Hope you are all ok, take care. XX

    Evening everyone

Well, have realised I am getting old:eek: my weekend away left me shattered, got home from work last night and was in bed for 8.30!

So haven't really caught up with the thread, have done a lot of skimming, but understand there is a lot going on in a lot of peoples lives, hugs for you all especially Nic. I can relate to a marriage breakdown where he decides he wants to be free.

Didn't get anything done this morning as had a drs appointment before work. Did manage to do a jacket potato for my lunch which I had with chilli, another portion of chilli for tomorrow too. Think next time I will freeze it in smaller portions so I can ring the changes for lunch instead of having the same thing 2 days running.

Don't fancy a lot for tea tonight, its only me here, might just have a cheese roll.

Got washing in, hoping to get another lot done before I fall asleep tonight!

Your dress sounds a bargain beemuzed, I will be looking for an outfit for my sons wedding later this year, I hope I can find a bargain like that :D

ooops meant to post this ages ago but have been on the phone to my mum :rotfl:
