I hope i get paid on friday. Not that we need the money for anything really, got loads of food in and bills are nearly up to date, just want to make sure rent goes out on time. I like to pay it as early as possible as we're private and i don't want to make my landlord worry. He's been messed about before.

I've been looking at houses where we might move and have fallen in love with a bungalow. It's got an aga and a fire place. Shame it's not the right time to move.

I don't know what to eat today, I'm thiking a jacket potato, side salad and philly. Dinner is chilli chicken noodles (from the frugal section in the sainsburys magazine)

I feel like i've been up forever!!

    Morning to all,

To those of you who are feeling ill, depressed and generally down, a big hug to all, hope you feel better soon.

To those of you who have been up and busy for hours, please slow down or pass on some of your energy to me please. Lol I wish I knew how you did it all.

Last night only did 15 mins exercise and I found that hard going tbh, I suppose thats because I left sat and sun out this week. Had mushroom omelette for tea.

Today has been porridge again and brought hm sarnies in for lunch. I took some meat out of the freezer which looks like steak. Will have that and roast pots and mushy peas for tea.

Busy day at work again today till 6.30. Have booked a week off work in feb, made the mistake of booking half term dates but have rectified that now. I like to have my break in peace and quiet. Going to work on the garden as Ive decided to try growing things this year. Only problem is, got to dig a pond out yet and get rid. What fun.

    Have a good day everyone.

    To Nic,

I've only just read the rest of yesterdays posts and caught up with your news so i want to say this.

You are going to be so unbelieveably hurt for such a long time and will start to feel that you are worthless etc.

DONT. First of all, he has made this decision because he thinks the grass is greener on the other side. It will take time for him to realise that he has made a big mistake and will more than likely want to come back to you. I'm going on my own experiences and I made the mistake of saying yes, though now I feel so humiliated. You beware of this and be prepared for it just in case.

In the meantime, you have done absolutely nothing wrong so don't think you have. You are a decent, caring and kind person (even though I don't know you :)) who does not deserve to be treated this way. So you do have to be strong and think and do only for yourself now. You have been given fab advice so far by everyone so get the finances sorted as priority. And def do not do anything whatsoever for him. He now has to look after himself on all accounts, washing, cooking, etc.

Keep a diary and write your every thought down, however low or bad they may be, you mustn't keep it to yourself or you may become more stressed and that won't help your condition.

Sorry if I've rambled, just wanted to say I know what you are going through.

    Best wishes
    Ally xx

    :eek::eek::eek:

Have had to take car into the garage this morning to be fixed - various niggly problems that need fixing. But I'm already dreading the bill:eek::eek:

Was going to have haggis for tea tonight, but then I heard one of the ingredients in it - yuk. So will be rethinking that! Am going to be a bride at the weekend - twice!! My friend is at a bridal show and needs models - so I volunteered! Will be great fun.

Nic2Lou - am thinking of you - xxxxxxx

So all in all - no OS going on here except dinner - which will now be an omlette & chips or something along those lines!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning folks
PinkGiraffe - hope your mum gets on well and that your mind is at rest now she's had the op.
Nic- this is another day, all fresh and new - hope you are feeling stronger. Take it a day at a time.
RedRuby - sorry to hear that your mum is so down. I think it's a natural feeling when they have been together so long and with your dad being unwell. Hope you both see him and that it helps.
(((hugs))) to those here who are feeling low, unwell or anxious. Brighter days are coming. I keep looking for the snowdrops but haven't seen any in bud/ flower yet. Anyone else?
Haggis tonight - yippee. + the obligatory dram(s). DH is Irish so we have some Tullamore Dew which is lovely so might have some of that. We don't drink whisky (yes whiskey for T.Dew though!) all that often but usually have a small selection! We have some island malts and also Speyside which are my favourites. My mum was from that area so we go up to visit relatives quite a lot there and whisky drinking is usually involved.
    Moving on from whisky drinking....
Need to get a load of ironing done today including DH's shirts. Might put on a podcast so I can be educated at the same time :p
Who has moved to Essex? We moved from Aberdeen(ish) to Suffolk nearly 20 years ago and I was sooo homesick. Found it very difficult to make friends/ meet potential friends. It was so difficult to 'break through'. However, although it took time, I made some great friends and ended up staying for 18 years!
Ok, off to walk dogs. Take care all.

Milk tablet is this very sweet and I am sure not full of calories :D
  • Morning all! :hello:

Well my bathroom sink is as good as new after putting white vinegar-soaked cotton wool on the parts of it which had limescale on overnight! :j I just wiped it off this morning! :D My house smells like a fish ands chip shop now though. :o:rotfl:

Last night's dinner was Ainsley Harriott's spice sensation couscous, with chicken pieces for DH and Quorn chunks for me, roasted pepper and onion and some feta cheese. And I put some balsamic vinegar on mine (more vinegar!:rotfl:) Sounds a strange concoction probably, but it was really nice! :)

Out at dance class again tonight. DH paid last week so I'll pay tonight. Not sure what we'll have for dinner beforehand, maybe eggs, chips and beans.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
