    Good morning ladies!

Like claire I'm graduating over from the less than 12 weeks board!

Had a lovely scan yesterday with me dating 12+2, due 26th March 2014.
Bean was bouncing around all over the place, kicking and waving their arms. Was fab! :D

Nuchal measurement was 1.5, so really happy with that too. Just awaiting the blood test results now.

We wont be finding out, so will be team yellow. Although we both think that bean will be team pink.

Also, my sickness has faded and I feel like getting back some energy. Yay!

    Welcome claire and sjlou!!

I've got an awful flu, feel terrible, couldn't go to work today or yesterday, I've got temperature, cough, body ache, shivers and can't sleep or eat much....I'll be ok but worried about baby, if it gets worse maybe I'll go a&e?
  • Welcome Claire and Sjlou  it's such a relief to get past that first scan isn't it? In saying that I then started panicking in between the scan and feeling movements. Today my little one did a big movement. It felt like I had a fish flipping about inside!! :D

We can't decide on a name yet either. It's difficult, there are so many names but finding one we'd both like is not happening at the mo. I suppose we have quite a few months still to decide :)

Jox - That sounds horrible. Could you try for emergency docs appt?
    Hope you feel better soon.

Jox definitely see a dr and you can take paracetamol.

  • Hello lovely ladies and an especially big :wave:to Claire and SjLou.

Hope everyone has had a good week. I went over to Mamas and Papas today, and got myself some maternity jeans (£9 in the sale!) and rebought the Elfie and Mop borders for the nursery (DD pulled hers off the wall as soon as she could stand  Hope this means we can just pop a new border on and touch up rather than repaint the room!)

I have had a super duper baby-cuddling week - our friends' sister had a baby girl 2 months ago and is struggling a bit with BFing so I popped round to have a coffee and chat, and one of my very dear friends who I met at NCT has just had a little boy 2 weeks ago. Little mite has had meningitis so first chance for a cuddle as he's on home leave from the hospital - pumped full of antibiotics but totally beautiful all the same!

Going to a wedding tomorrow so showcasing my Tiffany Rose extortionate dress ... DH is an usher so want to look nice in the pics.

Becca what a lovely bump you have! Have you felt any more movement?

Jox get well soon. Try not to worry too much about the baby - just stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. Hope you can avoid a Friday night trip to A&E to sit with the drunks!

TL :T for lovely, amazing news at 20 week scan. xxx

Kerri happy V-day, 7 appointments  I suppose at least you and little one are being well looked after!

Faerie what a lovely sonographer - nice clear picture of your little boy too! Bet you were made up when you opened the card.

VICSH hope your SPD is manageable at the moment, will it affect maternity leave? :T for a little brother for your DS

Rummer, Starshinning and Lola our DD's name wasn't even on the shortlist. She was going to be Orla (we thought she'd be a redhead, like mummy :D) but she was born with jet black hair! Orla means "golden princess" so didn't feel quite right after that. As it happens, she does now have strawberry blonde hair anyway :o but the name we chose is so "her" I have no regrets.
  • Wow Becca your bump is really growing. I will try and post a pic this weekend depending on how my camera is doing! (very temperamental at the mo)

I did get a couple of comments today at work saying that im starting to show which made me smile, though I could of committed murder tonight when my DH said it was just fat and not baby...arrghhh men!:mad: I know I am no size 8 and I had a couple of spare tyres before I got pregnant but arrrghhhh men! Maybe I am just an emotional hormonal women tonight.

DH is now asleep on the sofa after having an afternoon drinking session after some over time this morning. I also told him not to drink till this evening as I knew it would end up like this, him asleep and me alone watching the soaps ready to cry at any moment. Hate him when he is like this. Again, maybe im just very hormonal tonight!

    On a good note, I am 17 weeks today.....yay! :j

MrsBunny my hubby's drinking is getting on my nerves more than normal at the moment... I'm blaming the hormones!
    Hugs. xXx

I had a bit of a nightmare on Weds eve/night and Thurs am. Back was aching so I had a bath... dropped my phone in it! Argh!!! However, I managed to dry it out so thought all was ok.
Then at 1.30am I woke up thinking there was something sharp on my bed because I'd just touched it and my finger was hurting, turned the light on to find bloody spider had just bitten me!!! Since found out it was a "false widow" which are the most poisonous in the UK. What are the chances?!?!
Then.... Thursday morning, I stepped backwards at work, went from carpet to lino and went flying! Thankfully I landed on my back not my front. Totally panicked me, but had midwife in the afternoon and heard heartbeat for the first time! Eeeeek!!!
So that's the 3 unlucky things, and I've made it through Friday 13th with no mishaps!!!
I'm finding it more and more difficult to cover my bump now, and I want to keep it secret from the parents of the children in my class for a little while longer yet if I can.... I know some will be anxious about a new teacher coming in half way through the year!
    16 weeks and 2 days! Yay! :)
