Hi all and welcome to any newbies!
Just a quick note to say I will be moving over to the big thread from today as I am officially 25 weeks now.
JCR so sorry to hear it - I think everything will prob be quite raw for them right now, so maybe give a little longer and then send a card that just offers any help or support they may need, rather than one saying 'condolences' all over it type thing which might just remind them of the loss all the time they look at it on the mantlepiece. Maybe one with nice flowers on the front, sunflowers maybe, or quite low key white with a quieter theme.
Am off today so chilling, managed to hurt back yesterday painting, so am glad I had the day off...
Best of luck to everyone and see you on the big thread soon!:):)

jcr.. I'd be tempted to write them a congratulations on your baby card.. with a note about if they need anything you are always there or suchlike. They had a baby and just because things went awry doesn't mean they are any less parents.. it must be awful for them. A congrats card they can keep with the other bits and it will be something acknowedging both their loss and their baby birth... in a few months noone will mention it..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

sparkle, thanks for that. i'll get a card next week then post it. i didn't think about it being too soon.
pigpen i not sure that would be the right approach at the mo. as aparently they are very angry . but i can understand that. it is prob a huge mixture of emtions and when al scans and tests come back fine i'd imagine it is shock as well. Were really not close at all, and they live miles and miles away so it is more of a thinking of you, rather than an offer of help type card ( and where i'm pregnancy aswell i certainly don't think she'd like to be reminded of that, which i fully understand so seeing me prob won't help). no doubt i will end up crying just reading cards. i'm so emtional with this pregnancy.0 -
pigpen just read ur scan is 10th june, although it does sound far away, i bet time will fly. consider the childre arent' at school for most of april, then may is broken up with bank holidays and i think maybe another half term it won't be long .
i'm guessing that will be your 20 week ish scan. will you find out the sex ?
Winnie the pooh, forgot to say the boob tube in purple and in the pink and white flower design are absolutly lush. i wear loads of purple and i have to say it is a real nice deep colour.
glitter monster thankyou for the pm, i have replied.
Well it is starting to sink in , and now we know the sex it is even more amazing. Nearly all the family told, then i can say on here.i'm been quizzed so much on fb, but i'm not giving in. well i did tell one of my friends. she has been so supportive in recent week's.
I'm looking at moses baskets and suchlike. and i think i'm gonna buy the i love my bear range from toys r us. i had it with my son last time and i loved it. it can be either sex and hubby said as i like to so much it worht buying and keeping for future babies. as i sold it all last time.
Prams are causing probs for me. i was set on the pliko. but after seeing my friend the other day she has the my choice 3 from mothercare which i initally wanted but was unsure. but when seeing it being used i just fell in love with it again. hubby seemed to like aswell. but i'm unsure if it will fit in our boot with all 7 seats. so i either need to have onlly 6 seats in use or buy a new car, lol. hubby didn't like that option. even tho our car is now 10 yrs old, it is really fab, we do love it . i wasn't serious when i said about selling it, but you got to try these thing's,lol. however we are quite tempted by the cryster as it has sliding doors.and it is a nightmare when idiots park close to you and you can't open the doors properly to make sure my children are secure in their seats.
as for babies names. well we had our gorgeous girls and boys names all sorted. we found beautiful names. then found out the sex and now i'm undecided about if i like the names. tyipcal woman.lol.
It is first day of half term here. weather not as warm as last weekas we found out when got to the beach this morning. the wind was a chilly , but it was still fab. the kids loved watching the boats and eating ice cream. Off for a bike ride and picnic tomoz as it meant to be raingin wednesday, so gonna enjoy the outside as much as poss.
hope everyone else is feeling well , and bumps growing nicely.0 -

Being far away makes all the difference.. I'd make it a 'thinking of you' type card too.. and maybe on their due date send some flowers over just so they know he isn't forgotten. My sisters friend lost her little boy at 3 days old on mothers day.. he had a heart problem.. it is horrible.pigpen just read ur scan is 10th june, although it does sound far away, i bet time will fly. consider the childre arent' at school for most of april, then may is broken up with bank holidays and i think maybe another half term it won't be long .

Mine are only off the usual 2 weeks for easterthey finish this coming Friday and go back the 3rd May I think.. is that the Tuesday?
Chrysler is AMAZING.. loads of boot space, 7 seats, sliding doors etc... but look at the hyundai i800.. that has 8 seat.. they don't fold flat like in chrysler though but they are 1/3rd the price.. and really nice and roomy and have proper seats. Also has sliding doors and 2 isofix points.. the boot is collossal.. we can do Ikea with it
Oh I know June will be here before we know it.. Hopefully we will find out the sex.. if we don't I will whine until I get another scan that they will tell me the sex! lol.. Financially we need another girl but I think we both would like a boy.. he will look lovely in pink!!!
Window shopping for cots! .. saving for puschair (nipper 360) and the car seat for Squeak about £250 as I want a rear facing stage 2 cos they is safer!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
my children broke up fri just gone ( 8th) go back on 26th april, then off again on 29th and back on 3rd may. then i think it the end of may is half term again, not 100 % tho. i know i have a scan on the 3rd and A/N on the 4th and the children are at school then.
Will think about the hynundai. never a make of car have ever like . we have an 02 plate renault espace and i love it.
we said that about the baby, a boy makes things easier ( two youngest are boys) but be fab to do the pink all over again.but you can't choose what your having and i could never say i only want another baby if it a certain sex would . i find that so upsetting. and to think now you can go through sex selection before conciving.
i'm just watching obem, every time i watch it, it makes me cry,lol0 -
Hi everyone... glad everyone is well and welcome to newbies.
Skintcatt - finding heartbeat is great isn't it x
All you ladies are getting very organised aren't you x
well had an eventful few days - OH's grandma died on the weekend so we've been with family unexpectedly - all a bit sad. Funeral will probably be on Monday so will have to postpone my consultant's appointment.
Then I had some spotting yesterday (tmi.. pinkish discharge then bit more browny spotting but no pain though) so had a bit of a worry and cry but baby's heartbeat was good on my cheapy doppler so wasn't too worried (and no we haven't DTD in last few days :rotfl: more's the pity - too tired) Checked with midwife on phone this afternoon who told me to go to antenatal clinic at hospital which meant being sat in waiting room for about 2 hours with lots of very nervous heavily pregnant ladies.
Anyway I'm fine but have little bit of blood in wee, and glucose  (first time so far) and a bit raised blood pressure. Baby is lying low at moment but heartbeat is strong :j and midwife was happy, though we still need to check placenta position at scan on Wed. Meanwhile I had to have an internal check which made young doc a bit nervous so have to go for a better check (colopscopy?) and smear tomorrow to rule out causes of bumpy cervix diagnosis... not great news but hoping that doc was just being overly cautious. At least cervix itself seemed to be closed which is good news.
Sorry for long post not really asking any questions just have the need to get this down so that I remember details later... will let you know what results are for peep's future reference - have to say that our uk forums are really helpful and pragmatic rather than scaremongering - thank you to all posting pregnant ladies
So not great at mo but not too bad either - silly good news is that OH finally struck lucky with buying an ebay bike and is a happy little boy :rotfl:team yellow
Can't wait to meet you now baby!0 -
Anywhere know where to get 'reasonable' (read cheap!) maternity clothes from? Don't really want to pay £30 for a pair of trousers for work I'll only wear for a couple of months (if we're there that long) but seeing as I don't know how big I'm going to get I can't just get a size bigger! Maybe it's just me.. lol

I got some great bargains from ASOS - they seem to be doing free next day delivery at least once a week at the moment and I've been very happy with everything I've bought, including lots of maternity dresses for £5-£15.0
