Oooh I can't wait until I start to feel kicks. So strange seeing baby wriggling around on the screen but not feeling anything! :)

Bless you for feeling clingy TL, there's nothing wrong with wanting to be with your hubby though! It's lovely! :)

Hope you get to hear baby's heartbeat BZ! :)

Hope you had a lovely holiday Lippy, where did you go? Less than 5 weeks 'till mine (2 weeks in the Dominican Republic!) and I can't wait, even though I'm struggling to find holiday clothes that fit! Will be slightly awkward though as we're going with another couple who've just split up but are still going on the holiday as 'friends'... not sure how that's going to work and I can't even drink loads of rum to help me deal with the awkwardness! :p

Yes holiday was lovely thank you :) We went to Spain and met up with some old friends who live out there. Very nice to get away and relax. My sickness stayed with me, but not every day which was good. Come home though and I've been sick everyday since, sometimes more than once :o

Good luck with your holiday with your friends. Just enjoy your time out there and look after your littlen:)

Calien the private scan places advertise gender scans from 16 weeks so 18 weeks should be fine.

Birdie it's a shame about your friends, although I was just thinking how strange it is that the first time you mentioned them they were trying too...then they were fighting...and now they've broken up :(

Think I've got a UTI again, I've had a couple of instances where it's felt like I've nearly weed myself and it's burnt. asked the doctors as i was making my sixteen week appointment and they said i don't need to make an appointment, i just need to drop off a sample for testing. so i'll need to get over my embarassment at taking them a sample in a pop bottle...I'm thinking a 'share a coke with...' one would be highly inappropriate lol

We had a private scan this weekend gone at just over 17 weeks and they could tell us the gender then. Boys are more obvious than little girls as little boys with small whatsits can be mistaken for little girls. However, if told a boy then it's definitely a boy. We just need our little girl to be confirmed at 20w scan.

I am sick as a parrot, got a stinking cold/flu thing :'( going to cry as I have sooo much to do with packing up this house and I am currently bed ridden.

I know! It's so strange, I don't know if the pressure of TTC got to them, or the enormity of what would happen if they did get PG made them realise that they weren't truly compatible, perhaps? I'm just not sure. Feeling pretty gutted as I never saw it coming! :( OH keeps saying that it won't ruin our holiday and he'll make sure we have a great time regardless, just hope he's right! :)

At least it's not too far to visit regularly. Good luck with the move; remember, no picking up or moving anything heavy! X

When is everyone taking maternity leave and how long are you taking off? I'm a nurse and have no idea when I should start my leave. I am due on 5th Feb and was hoping to work for as long as I can, so I get longer with my baby afterwards. Originally I was thinking of leaving after New Years, making me 36 weeks, but don't know whether that is possible. I will be on my feet for most of my shift; 14 hours a day, 3 days a week. I still have 2 weeks of annual leave left so I can use that too. If I don't work this Christmas I will HAVE to work my baby's first Christmas which I don't want to do. :( My ward manager has said that I will be doing mostly weekends and nights towards the end so my maternity pay is better. I'm really not looking forward to it. I need to win the lottery ASAP!

We can only afford for me to take 9 months off but I will add some of my annual leave on to the end of that so I'll return in November (I think!)

I'm still feeling really sickly, I was hoping that after 12 weeks it would magically disappear! I hope it's not here for the full pregnancy. I weighed myself today and I weigh less than I did before I got pregnant, oops!

Also, a few nights ago I was woken by excruciating pain in my lower abdomen, just above my pubic bone. The pain came in waves, I would almost drift off and it would start again. It made me cry it was that bad! It's not happened since and I don't have any bleeding but it scared me. Any ideas what it could have been? I really thought I was going to miscarry. I've found the heartbeat with my doppler so I know baby is ok.
