I've got the midwife in the morning...hoping she'll get the doppler out and we'll get to hear the heartbeat for the first time :D

Hope you have a lovely appointment this morning and get to hear the heartbeat. It might be worth asking as they don't offer to listen at 16 weeks here, but usually will if you ask ;)

i can sometimes (like now) feel a tingly sensation where i know flutter to be, but considering i'm constantly bunged up i know it's probably gas, i just like to think it's making room :)

when everyone had their scan, where was baby? mine is on the right hand near my hip, like in that lower quarter and i have an irrational fear that it's going to stay there and i'll just have a really odd lump sticking out rather than a round bump.

BigZ good luck with the midwife this morning :)

Amy i've been sat here for five minutes thinking where on earth is your scanner?! lol and at least your DH will be prepared for the birth if he likes Aliens so much :rotfl:

for some reason I'm really clingy for DH at the minute. don't know if it's hormones making me want the father of my child or just generally weepy but I really miss him when I'm at work and don't want to go out without him. properly pathetic lol

Oooh I can't wait until I start to feel kicks. So strange seeing baby wriggling around on the screen but not feeling anything! :)

Bless you for feeling clingy TL, there's nothing wrong with wanting to be with your hubby though! It's lovely! :)

Hope you get to hear baby's heartbeat BZ! :)

Hope you had a lovely holiday Lippy, where did you go? Less than 5 weeks 'till mine (2 weeks in the Dominican Republic!) and I can't wait, even though I'm struggling to find holiday clothes that fit! Will be slightly awkward though as we're going with another couple who've just split up but are still going on the holiday as 'friends'... not sure how that's going to work and I can't even drink loads of rum to help me deal with the awkwardness! :p

:rotfl: It's on top of a bookcase in our lounge, and I normally reach it by clambering on a stool... however I can imagine the look on DH's/my parents'/the midwife's face if get on to the stool then have a hip or knee incident!

I forgot to ask DH to help me though so I've had to resort to taking a (somewhat blurry) pic of the scan on my phone. Hopefully you can see it and I haven't stretched the page too much :rotfl:

Honestly, sometimes I wish DH wasn't so fond of Alien... it's really messed up his feelings about seeing / feeling movement - he's terrified :rotfl: Lord only knows what he'll be like during the actual delivery... oh, and he asked me if we can call her Ripley!

ETA:  Birdie! That sounds so awkward... I hope that despite how it sounds it's all very amicable and no-one needs the help of rum to get through! Still, being in the Dominican Republic should make up for some minor inconveniences  I hope you and your OH have a wonderful time on your pre-baby break.

I've been feeling movements for a good few weeks now, I think some people just feel it earlier than others. My Mum was quite cross with my MIL when I spoke to her about it on Sunday and she agreed with me that it wasn't just in my head.

OH felt baby move for the first time on Sunday which was lovely as it was his birthday. He didn't get as excited as I did though. I'm only feeling tickles when I'm stood up doing things, I keep thinking it's my clothes tickling me but then remember that I've never felt that before.

Woken up with a stinking cold today, although could be a sinus infection due to cleaning the flat yesterday. Took an hour to clean two windows because I'm deep cleaning. Todays task is to box up the bedroom and clean the spare room, then when OH gets home we'll make a start on the kitchen. I hate moving house.

Hugs to those that need them xx

I'm feeling proper kicks now (23 weeks) and some are rather strong, enough to make me jolt a little. Whenever DH puts his hand on my tummy to feel it, baby stops kicking. It's a lovely feeling, although he kept me up until 4am as he wouldn't stop kicking.

So my 20 weeks scan date was changed today, had to rearrange it as it clashed with another appt I have that day (same time too!) now I have one that will be for when I'm 18 weeks.

Do you reckon they might still be able to determine the sex of baby?

We're going for a private one and they say they can tell from 15/16 weeks. When I went for my 12 the lady said she could tell what it is but wasn't allowed to tell us!
