According to the weather thingy on my phone, it will be like this until early August
Had OH's graduation today, I am now known as "the soon-to-be-mother-of-my-child" ick!
I had some more spotting first thing this morning, must remember to pee before going to bed, as I think I had a stupidly full bladder irritating my dodgy cervix again (TMI sorry). All seems to be fine now, but I think baby is growing again as had some tightening feelings across my stomach.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

My friend is due any day now and she hates this weather. Ankles are like elephant legs apparently!
Its super hard finding clothes to fit, I don't want to buy loads of summery stuff just for the cold to come back in a few weeks time.
All hot and bothered, really need air con. I deliberately went to the supermarket yesterday as it's nice and cool in there!

Well occupational health have just told me I'm going to be off for the rest of the pregnancy  I was expecting them to recommend light duties, not for me to be off for months! I honestly don't know how I'm going to cope on SSP, am much too used to having a decent income of my own without having to be reliant on DH
I know lots of women have to cope with worse, but I feel like a right failure atm - looks like we're going to be living on our savings and won't be as comfortable as I thoughtI feel really bad about putting my 'cheer-me-up' shopping on the credit card now too, I always pay it in full but now I'm not sure we're going to have the money. I've made a mess of things
ETA: Sorry for moaning, I'll stop being such a grumpybum now!
Lola: If you're struggling, I managed to get new maternity jeans, leggings, a nightie, a top and a skirt from Vertbaudet by combining their sale and new customer codes for money off - it came to less than £60 in total and I'm not planning to buy any more 'maternity' clothes as I can now mix and match with looser fitting things and my bump band from my normal wardrobe. I've found maternity clothes on Ebay can be as expensive as buying new. I know what you mean about this hot weather making things tough though, I have been eyeing up shorts but know there's no point.
Kerri - Your new title is a bit cringeworthy, but has to beat the 'babymomma' in a wannabe-gangster voice that DH has jokingly started calling me  It makes him (and me) sound ridiculous as he's the most middle-class man in the world and I look distinctly unimpressed whenever he says it :rotfl: I can only imagine how his parents are going to react when he inevitably says it around them!
I can't believe your family are commenting on your love life! I'd put a stop to that right now :rotfl: I think the first trimester is a general passion killer for most, but my libido is just about starting to return now though - not that DH cares, he's too weirded out by the idea of his child being in there! I don't think it's fair or right that you're made to feel like a 'bad girlfriend' by your family - you are busy doing something amazing, and it's your prerogative to be as, ahem, active or otherwise as you feel. There's no right answer to how much sex to have during pregnancy, that depends on the couple and it's no-one's business other than your own (and possibly your partner if you're feeling kind).
Congratulations to your OH on his graduation, he had a lovely day for it.
Mincepie: Yey for healthy twinnies! I definitely think it's possible to be broody when pregnant... I'm still tempted to steal my nephew - he's such a little cutie and is loving this weather (well, mostly just the frequent ice creams :rotfl:).
Vic: I've had quite a lot of cramping / stretching pain too, but as you say, everyone says it's normal. So difficult not to worry tho! I've also had a very sharp pain whenever I cough or sneeze if anyone has experienced this? I think it's more of the same, but it's bloody painful!
Lily: I hope your scar is less painful now and that seeing your midwife was helpful.
Scarlet: Glad to hear your scan went well and your little girl is getting along fine. I know what you mean about buying things! I didn't think I'd bought a lot but it's starting to stack up now :rotfl: MIL and SIL are going to be unstoppable too once we've found out the gender (we have a scan next Friday with them).
Congratulations Flower, it must be so exciting to reach v-day... I can't wait to join you on the next thread.
Amus: loving your candour!0 -
Oh Amy sorry you didn't get the news you expected from occy health. I suppose at least you know where you are now, and luckily you have savings which can be dipped in to. I guess you'll be the other way round from most people in that you'll be really happy when SMP kicks in cos it'll be a pay rise :j(I hope I've got that right, I assume you'll still qualify?!)
Well done on your Vertbaudet bargains, I was really lucky and got a bundle from Ebay for £12 which has got 5 trousers and 10 tops (not all to my taste but fine for round the house) That combined with the clothes I still have from having DD and I'll be ok I think. Off on a Hen do tomorrow and had to try on my going out dresses last night to see if any fit, luckily some do. I'm only 14+2 but it's more that I want to feel comfy!
Lily how is your scar doing now? And how are you feeling after the horrid start to the week you had?
Kerri without being rude, how do your family know about your libido (or lack thereof)? I think you've got to do what you're happy with, I'm not too bad in that department but the tiredness takes some working around.0 -
I'm sorry to hear that Amy. You must take care of yourself. As my boss said, you're a mummy first and an employee second.
I've grown a lot this week; everyone is commenting! My colleague reckons you get uterus stretching pains. Would tie in with the huge growth in my bump this week.DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -

These aren't stabbing pains; they're more like hot period like cramps.DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0

A healthy uterus has contraction like movements all the time.. hence the cramping, usually you can't feel them but they remove any potential problems from the body.. you feel them more when you have an inhabitant as the surface area is bigger but it is all a good sign.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
