I'm sorry to bring the threads down with this but I am feeling very distressed about it and just don't know who else to talk to. A lady I work with went into labour yesterday (4 days overdue) but her little girl was delivered at 5am this morning with no pulse and not breathing. Somewhere in the 10 minutes before she was born she had passed away. Nobody knows what happened.

My heart is breaking for them. They are such a wonderful couple and this was their first baby. I just can't stop crying ;(

Big hugs Lilymay and don't worry about bringing the thread down, we're here to be a shoulder when you need one. It's not called the miracle of life without cause, and we just have to hope our baby's are going to be ok. I know I'm going to worry until I have my little one in my arms crying and cooing. **hugs** again x

Oh Lily what awful news .. my heart breaks when I hear stories like this. This must open up a whole bunch of raw wounds for you. You are in the unique position to understand how she is feeling and what she is going through.. there is nothing you can do to change these things sadly. ((((hugs)))) I hope today gets better for you, but for now, just let that emotion out!!!

Thanks ladies :( She has just sent me a picture of the baby and she looks just like a perfect little angel. They have named her Hope which I think is beautiful.

I don't know what to do with myself today any more. DS is in nursery and OH is away so I'm feeling a little bit unstable. I think I will go and arrange some flowers for my colleague. What a terrible terrible day :(

It's all the more upsetting because things like this seem to happen to perfectly healthy babies for no obvious reason :(

Such an awful thing to happen.
  • Oh lily, I am so very sorry to hear your friend's news. I don't know what to say. What a shock for everyone. I am sure you will be reeling from the news given your own history, too. Many virtual hugs are being sent to you today :kisses3:

:( Thinking of you Lily, and offering a sympathetic ear (laptop?) if you need to talk. I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's loss, which must have also stirred up a lot of your own emotions - but your friend is fortunate to have such a caring and understanding friend who is a unique position to understand :grouphug: I hope you're both able to get the support you'd like if and when you need it, and also that your friend is able to get some answers about what happened.

I have been toooo hot today, I'm so glad I'm only 15+4 and not 35+4, I don't know how I'd cope in this heat with a huge bump. At least little one will keep me warm through winter. They say the heatwave isn't going to end anytime soon either :(

Thanks for being so understanding everyone. I know its a miserable thing to talk about on a pregnancy thread :(

Hope everyone else is doing okay. I see my m/w tomorrow and really need to talk to her about how much pain my scar is giving me. It's starting to go red again so it's obviously being stretched. Maybe she will have some magic lotion I can use.

I had a mooch on the Next website earlier - they have loads of kids stuff at reasonable prices. I like to give Next stuff as gifts as they really do have some beautiful bits and pieces.

Hugs and sympathy for anyone else struggling in the heat xx
