bangton- thats what they told me to do as well with my fists! ive never had to do anything like that before when ive had one of those examinations though. all my notes say in regards to the bleeding is- cervix hard to find some contact bleeding presented. I havent had any more blood, so hopefully it has stopped now. Feeling sore down below though!
hope you are resting as well, sounds like you have had a day of it going up to hospital as well, have they said how they will manage it? and is your pain releated to that as well?

Nope never happened to me either! Not at smear test or anything! Very weird but she did say I was in the minor 10% of women where this happens although it's 'normal'!

Apparently the cramps are my uterus tilting like it's meant to. When it tilts it pulls the ligaments and you can end up with ligament pain as a result! Added with the spotting though they have to check. I've just to take pain killers and go steady but I don't like taking anything while pregnant (I will if I have to but not everyday!) so I'm ignoring the advice. So long as I know what it is it's fine!

Toothfairy - best of luck with scan tomorrow. I hope you find out. Keep us posted!

As for the pram question..I've bought it and stored it in what will be baby's room. I'm not superstitious though, we had the cash and we got a good deal so we just went for it. I'm glad too as the main things are bought/given/sorted so now it's relatively little things.

I'm doing my upmost not to buy rubbish I don't need but my list seems shockingly small, it's mainly clothes, bedding, mattresses for cots and moses basket we have been given, pram, car seat, steriliser, changing mat and toiletries, bottles, teats...probably other things but I can't think what right now...that's nearly all my list though I'm sure!

I'm also going to get highchair, gate, toys now rather than later and store them for when my little man gets bigger.....I'm so massively nesting at the moment it's unreal! I'm sorry if my posts are boring but frankly I could take about buying baby things, houses and cleaning till the bl00dy cows come home!

I have a question I was wondering if anyone knows about isofix bases for car seats. We have a small 3 door car and was thinking it'd be great to install a base the car seat can just click onto rather than having to lean/get right in the back to fiddle about with straps each time. But do they work in all cars (even old ones) or do you need something new/special to fit the isofix base??? confused!:o Thanks for any thoughts.

Not all car seat bases have to use a isofix point. For example, the Maxi-Cosi EasyFix car seat base uses either the ISOfix anchor point, or your 3 point seat belt. We had a Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix with DD and just used the 3 point seatbelt without base and it was a pain in the bum strapping in and out each time, so this time round I'm 90% sure I'll get the EasyFix base to strap in, as my isofix points will have to be uncovered by a garage. Does that make sense? Lol

Actually, just looked on Amazon and there is also the Easybase2 which is seat belt only, no isofix. The advantage of non isofix is that it can be swapped between cars. Must show that to hubby.

Some lovely scans today - congratulations. My 20 weeks scan is at 21 weeks - ages away!

No call back from the midwife. Will chase them again tomorrow.

Yes my EDD will be interesting as according to my notes I'm the same as you (14 w 1day) so I'm confused. Can't wait for the scan but still annoyed I can't just be told at nhs 20 week scan :( I'm still feeling very tired too baby moving lots at night keeping me awake and I'm just generally feeling drained. I think overall I have more energy than before 12 weeks but still not my usual self.

My bump is getting very big already there's no hiding it!
