So I called the MW office again and she passed my details onto the MW, so still waiting for a call back. They would have called me if it was bad news right?? I'm getting a little concerned now :(

Thanks for all the help and advice re: MIL.

TTC - I have exactly the same problem: hubby is first born of 5 and the first to settle down - she felt I was taking him away from her which is ridiculous as he used to be in the marines miles away and would come back every weekend to see me and I would tell him to visit his folks as I'm real close to mine. She has slated me, my family, my oldest daughter. She begged the deacon not to marry us 3 days before our wedding! There have been a few issues with the girls that I cannot put behind us as couldn't trust her with them; they put my youngest in danger! Like yours; my in-laws all just do as she tells them and moans about it behind her back. I only have 1 other niece on hubby's side and MIL practically has brought her up since she was born so although she does things to annoy them, they don't want to have child every day to themselves. I'm happy to sit down and lay down the ground rules but she doesn't want to - she wants to carry on as she has always done. Had good chat with hubby last night and he's gonna try and talk to her. I've told him that if he wants her to see baby, christening etc, he needs to explain to her that she needs to play ball for his sake. Personally there is no way I would put my girls (or bump) through all the heartache she has caused my husband. It's very unfortunate that we only live 2 miles away or would be easier to let hubby go alone once a month. Instead, he gets called out for family meals etc while me and the girls aren't invited.

Re: prams in the house. I had mine 6wks before DD1 was born and still have it now although its now just over 16yrs old so we're gonna buy ourselves a new one. Needless to say, it won't be at MILs lol but home with us. We've looked at mothercare plan - sounds fab but waiting til after scan (13days!).

I'm desperate to buy the tommee tippee pink or blue bottles and they're currently half price - £12.50ish for 6 in Argos....but don't know what it is yet!!

Cleofish - delighted all is ok for you. Funny enough, I've had major discharge days which have worried me a bit so am glad all sounds like a normal part of pregnancy.

Hello all- so been for scan and appt with consultant this morning. Scan took ages as baby was not cooperating. The sonographer tried to look at the spine, baby rolled over, tried to look at face, baby put two hands in front of face and so on. Sent out to stretch my legs and was encouraged to have a sugary drink but when i went back in baby was curled up in an even worse position. So I have to go back next week. Did manage to see we're having another boy tho ;)

Consultant appt was interesting, went through all the pros and cons of a planned c-section versus a "trial labour". They will let me decide and we'll make plans with consultant at 34 weeks. I have negotiated a growth scan at 34 weeks to aid my decision. Last baby was 9lb 10oz and only found out today that he was also back to back do failed to progress past 9cm dilated.
Doc also said that if I failed to progress this time I would go straight to c-section rather than being put on syntosin drip first like last time. So I feel a lot better about trying for a normal delivery. (Last time I was in labour for 49 hours by the point he was delivered by emergency section- so was truly exhausted)
Felt drained by the time I got home so have had a sleep with DS

Hi all, been a bit quiet lately as not had much to say, all seems to be plodding along ok.

Borrowed a friend's doppler recently and have found baby's hb twice, counted approx140 bpm so that's nice and reassuring. Still a week till my scan!

I have a question I was wondering if anyone knows about isofix bases for car seats. We have a small 3 door car and was thinking it'd be great to install a base the car seat can just click onto rather than having to lean/get right in the back to fiddle about with straps each time. But do they work in all cars (even old ones) or do you need something new/special to fit the isofix base??? confused!:o Thanks for any thoughts.

Isofix - you can buy the kits to fit yourself or go to a garage and depending on how old the car is depends on how easy it is really, out car is only 4 years old so was dead simple, kit to do it cost £12 and OH fitted but older cars need slightly more work on them I believe

Thanks NikkiAnn, didn't even occur to me that it might need to be fitted in a garage. Kind of assumed you just fitted it to the seat yourself, but didn't realise it might be more complicated with an older car (ours is V reg!!)
    What a pain!

I was reading something (I think on MSE) the other day which said that in some cars the isofix means the seat in front has to be quite far forward (more so that if the seat was just belted in). So might be worth seeing if you can investigate this before forking out.
