Actually, I think it varies by area. Here (Kent) the "20 week" scan is done at 21 weeks, then you see the midwife at 22 weeks, 26, 28, 31 etc...)Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Hmmm I will call the midwife and ask.
I have an consultant appointment next Tuesday as my bmi is high, I wonder if that "counts".
Btw I think if I were thinner I wouldn't show at all! When I "suck my tummy in" it leaves a tiny bump ... Not that I've been checking myself out at all angles ....If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
yes a consultant appt counts.. usually the clinic mw does the usual tedious tests and then the consultant tries to convince you of his/her superior intelligence and scare you with things there is no evidence of that they can present.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

hey all. Hope all the mummies and bumps are doing well. I see some names on here that were here when i had a bump! Congratulations! Ellie is now 16 months old!!
Ellie was born with a heart defect Could I ask a favour. Ellie's heart condition wasnt picked up until she was 8 weeks old and very poorly. There is a pulse screening test that is painless and takes only a few minutes and there is a petition to bring it in as one of the checks newborns get it would pick up 75% of breathing problems and heart defect. Could you spare a few minutes to pop and sign it http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/37286 Thanks:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

That's such a neat little bump MV, I on the other hand just have this big flabby expanse emananting from my middle!
Had a gender scan yesterday and.....it's a girl!!!! They said they thought it might be at my last scan which was 11w2d but weren't sure, so amazing they could tell that early.
I saw the baby on the 3d scanner, it was amazing could see it all curled up inside me, and really close detail inc face features. All looked good.
Apart from that I'm having mega problems at work. I've been booted out of my job as I could not drive due to the pregnancy making my diabetes worse, found out my job has now been given to someone based 200 miles away in an office- who won't be doing any driving. Thinking of taking action against my employer if they don't sort it out soon as this definitely looks like discrimination to me. Meeting my boss later to see if we can sort it out. I don't need all this stress on top of an already stressful pregnancy due to my diabetes, can't belive they are doing this to me!
Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their second tri!0
