  • Itchy skin is very normal but so annoying, I'm finding that bio oil is helping to cool and calm it
  • Lovely bump lovecake! I had a clumsy trip in work earlier, was a bit shook up but ok now and didn't fall on bump, a wall and my arms broke my fall! Haven't had any braxtons i thought you get them later on? Ive no idea, they don't sound very pleasant! I do get a sore bump the odd time but put it down to baby growing or digging into me!

Hope you are ok after your fall! At least you didn't fall on the bump though. Braxton Hicks usually start any time between 20 and 30 weeks, some people don't really notice them though...

Ah lovely bump lovecake. You're really neat and tidy!I think mine is quite high up, it kinda starts below my boobs i think! Felt a couple of proper jabs lastnight, like enough to make me flinch! But of course OH was too slow :)

Thanks! I don't feel neat though... :) My OH never manages to catch them either! Some are really strong now and give me a fright! He was really active on Sunday when we were at the local watching the rubgy and I kept on almost jumping out of my seat! :rotfl:
  • I'm interested to know what folks are using on their skin so far (if anything) as a preventative measure for stretch marks. I've been using Palmer's cocoa butter on my tummy, boobs, hips and thighs a few times a week. Don't know if it will help, but I have heard good things about it and it smells nice if nothing else! :)

lovecake, I'm using palmers tummy butter on my belly and boobs, and palmers massage lotion for stretch marks (the free sample bottles I got from the emmas diary mum-to-be pack) on my back, thighs and anywhere else my skin is dry. if nothing else it's really soothing! I do that perhaps 2-3 times a week x

I've generally been using bio oil in the mornings and Palmer's cocoa butter stretch mark massage lotion (I think that's what it's called, the one with bio c-elastane or some other fancy sounding ingredient!) in the evenings.

I'm quite prone to stretch marks - have got them on my hips already from teenage years, and my skin marks/scars easily, so I'm fully expecting to get them, but so far so good, so I will carry on with my obsessive routine!

The general opinion seems to be that if you're going to get them, you will, but using creams/lotions could make them not quite so bad - and I figure it's nice to have well moisturised skin as it's got so much stretching to do!

If you order Bio-Oil on Amazon it's much cheaper than on the high street - I just bought a 200ml bottle for about £10. Not cheap, but it's £20 in the shops I think! The last bottle of that size lasted me three months of using it every day.

Pigpen, advice, I know you use the Nuby straw cups, is there a trick to stop the straw things splitting at the top and leaking or is it a case of buy a new one? :(

It's poking the fIngers through that's causing the issues I think. Will buy some straws online :) thanks
